We had a lovely two nights in Parkville, walking from this lovely, sparkling clean oasis to restaurants and hiking. The decor is bright and artsy, not a whit of the cloying Country French that so often clutters the BnB universe. We'll come back.

We really enjoyed staying here. The owners were very accomadating and left a key for us because of a late check in. Only a short 1 block walk to the old town that has a farmers market, places to eat and drink and antique shops.

My husband and I stayed for our 7th wedding anniversary. I work in Parkville, so it was great to see the area through a visitor's eyes! The Inn is beautiful inside and out. The room (the Missouri River Suite) was quiet and perfect with our own entrance. The owners have freshly renovated, and the room is even better than the pictures on the website. The jacuzzi tub is huge and awesome, lovely little touches around the room to include romantic headboard lighting, battery tea lights, a lovely stained glass piece and more. A huge in-room shower with separate toilet space and antique sink basin adds a final touch! Outside our room is a convenient and pretty coffee station with mini fridge and beverages/snack station. We loved the lovely bread and french press coffee in the moring! Everything was lovely and created a perfect stay for our quiet celebration! A couple of things we did notice, however. The bed is extremely hard, and we got broken sleep due to it. The water in the shower is either scalding or freezing and it takes a long time to find the balance for warm. There needs to be somewhere to put our soap/shampoo while in the shower area.

My wife and I were able to spend a Tuesday - Thursday here and we loved it! Since it was during the week, we had the place to ourselves and we loved the quiet relaxation. We stayed in the Colonel Park Suite and appreciated all the tiny little details; the black make-up removal wash cloth, the little bottles of water, the extra blanket. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Kathy brought delicious coffee and homemade bread slices as a wake-up at 7:30am, and then served as an amazing home cooked breakfast downstairs at 8:30am. It was an added bonus being able to just walk down the street and be in downtown Parkville and sample the wonderful shops. We're already planning our next opportunity to visit and possibly bring our family as well.

My wife and I stayed in the Colonel Park Suite which was just perfect for the two of us. With a jetted tub, comfortable bed, and TV, we felt right at home. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Kathy and Jason were fantastic and we enjoyed getting to know both of them.

We have stayed here several times and each visit has been wonderful. Kathy and Jason have a beautiful home and put a lot of attention on every detail. The food is excellent and the rooms are perfect. The first time we met Kathy and Jason we felt we had always known them. This will always be our destination for a special occasion or just to getaway and feel pampered.

My husband and I planned a quick overnight trip and decided to give a B&B a try. This was our first B&B experience and Main Street Inn was above our expectations! We stayed in the Missouri Suite and loved every minute of it! The guest lounge was thoughtful along with the organic soaps and lotion. The room was delightful, large Jacuzzi tub was a perk but the best part..the breakfast! At 7:30, with a light knock to the door we discovered a beautiful tray of hot tea (you can also request french press coffee), strawberry cream cheese bread, homemade strawberry jam, and a vase of flowers. At 8:30, we headed down to the dining room for the most delicious baked peach with cinnamon followed by blueberry pancakes and homemade lemon syrup. Kathy was accommodating with my dietary restrictions and never made me feel like it was an issue. Main Street Inn was so charming and the minute we got in the car to head home, we started planning our next trip!

Recently stayed in early May. My wife and I have stayed at a number of B&Bs over the past 15 years, including Parkville before, so I think we're able to make some honest evaluations/comparisons. Have a few pros and cons I'll share. First, I'm a pretty tough evaluator. I'll start with the positives. Our room was very well decorated, extremely clean and nicely furnished. Alot of charm to it. Coffee and bread dropped off at our door were a nice touch and tasted great. Kathy is a very friendly host and we enjoyed our conversations with her. I gave it a 3-star review as we were disappointed that the water pressure and temperature in the shower were less than adequate. Maybe one of those water saving shower heads is installed but the water pressure needs to be higher. It was fine coming out of the sink and bathtub. We had the hot water turned on full with no cold water and I was still cold in the shower. There was no shampoo for washing our hair. We were told to use the organic hand soap. That was a first for us. Not good. Only one set of towels available. So, if you take a bath or shower at night you have to reuse the same one in the morning. I can't recall any other B&B doing that. And no bubble bath allowed in the in the jacuzzi. I guess that's a minor inconvenience but again another first for us. None of the other B&Bs we stayed in had that policy. While this may come off sounding overly critical I guess we expected more if we're going to pay a premium price for our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Main Street Inn. We stayed in the Colonel Park Suite and thought that it was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful, the bed comfortable and the toiletries and soaps made for a lovely touch, too. Above all, we especially liked the coffee and pumpkin bread delivered to our room first thing in the morning - such a nice idea! We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone, but especially to couples looking for a relaxing retreat. Combined with a meal at nearby Café des amis, it makes for a very special evening.

My fiancé and I visited Kansas City for 3 nights and we did the entire stretch at Main Street Inn Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in Old Kate's Room and it was very nice (Shower is a bit tight and maintaining water temperature takes finesse). If you play guitar you can leave the axe at home. The room is very nice and a nylon string classical guitar comes standard with your stay, so bring your tuning fork. Downtown Parkville has good food, coffee, and nightlife. The Inn is only a 10 minute drive to downtown Kansas City, so location to big city nightlife is convenient. We'd stay at Main Street Inn again. The Innkeeper was very friendly and the morning breakfast tasted great! Visit the Green Lady Lounge!
