Being a frequent Kansas City visitor, enjoy staying at different properties, to experience the city from different vantage points. This was a first-time stay in Briarcliff. Hotel sits atop a hill with a fantastic view of the downtown KC skyline, situated between KCI airport and the heart of downtown. Near excellent restaurants and suburban retail. Hotel had a new feel, with a slightly above-average free breakfast buffet. Indoor pool was actually comfortable, being slightly humid in the room and with a warmer water temperature. I hate indoor hotel pools with ice cold water (which seems the standard), so this was a welcome departure from the norm! Booked a one-bedroom suite, but was assigned a studio. Even with double beds, suite was spacious, comfortable and clean, with a large closet with ample wire shelving accessible from the bathroom. Large wall-mounted TV that can be angled placed is on the side wall, rather than on a stand in front of the bed(s). Front desk service was friendly and knowledgeable, and a pantry with sundries conveniently located just inside the main entrance. Did not use Wifi during this visit. Price was a bit higher than normally paying, but with location, amenities and newness, was justified. Will strongly consider staying here again when returning.
Stayed at this hotel during a recent business trip. Staff was very friendly and talkative during the check in process. The hotel is practically brand new and was well kept and modern. The breakfast food was average, but did the job. Plenty of nice outdoor space with a patio with fireplaces. I was a little bit confused about what style the hotel was going for, but I would definitely stay again if I am in the Kansas City area.
I had very positive experiences at a TownePlace Suites in another part of Kansas City, so I was excited to see a new one at Briarcliff right next to the Courtyard where I had stayed several times in the past. I am dazzled by this property and I like staying here whenever possible. The location is quiet, tucked away from the interstate and major thoroughfares, so noise is not a problem. The appliances in the room are modern and feature amenities I wish I had at home (a butter soften function on the microwave, and a Keurig K-Cup coffeemaker, better for solo travelers than drip coffeemakers other TownePlace Suites have). The sink in the bathroom is eco-friendly, but not so burdensome to where the water barely trickles from the spigot like I've seen at some newer hotels. Great television selection, and it's easy for me to hook up my devices to the TV to watch Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, etc. The one quibble, a VERY minor one, is no restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance. However, if you stock up in town before returning to the hotel for the evening, you'll be just fine. This has quickly become my preferred hotel in Kansas City. It's worth the extra money you might pay at another property. As they say, you get what you pay for.
I loved the layout of this room. Though a bit small, it was a small suite that contained everything a single traveler could want. Full-sized fridge, tiny kitchen, desk, couch, television, everything. This room made the best used of space of any room I probably ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable, and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. It was within walking distance of Briarcliff Shopping Center, a small but modern shopping mall. Easy to access, close to the places I came to visit, I really enjoyed my stay here.
Our hockey team was playing in Kansas City. Our hotel stay was amazing. Great facilities and excellent staff. Kianna helped our team find a great set of places to visit in the evening. She also left us with a personal thank you note wishing our team well. This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
We stayed at TownePlace Suites Kansas City at Briarcliff last night because we were in town to see Taylor Swift. The hotel is in a new, upscale area. It appears to be surrounded by mostly apartment and office buildings. There aren’t a lot of options for dining nearby. The hotel itself is brand new. Front desk staff wasn’t overly friendly upon check-in. Rooms are very new with a fridge, stove top, dishwasher, Keurig coffee machine and sink. The rooms have a feel of a small apartment versus a motel room. The hallway entering the room and the bathroom have laminate/vinyl-like hardwood floors. Room was clean except I dropped my glasses and my daughter looked under the bed and there was food and a balloon. I guess that’s to be expected under the beds at many hotel, but I was surprised since it is a pretty new hotel. The pool is nice but cold. It is a smaller salt-water pool. They have a really nice outdoor seating area with fireplace and patio furniture. We wanted to use it but we did not get the chance. In the mornings they offer a free breakfast. Options were waffles, fruit, eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, English muffins, muffins, cereal, assorted juices and milk and coffee. The breakfast was very good, especially for being free. Overall we would stay here again.
We stayed for one night and were impressed with the hotel and it's staff. The front desk staff were very pleasant and the rooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had the usual items....eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. and everything tasted wonderful. There was ample seating. We did not use the pool, fitness room, or outdoor patio. Definitely would stay again if the opportunity comes up.
When we visited the property had only been open for 3 days. Everything was great, we had no complaints and will definitely stay again. Check in staff were very nice. The front desk manager was extremely friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
First trip to Kansas City, MO stayed here for the long weekend. We wanted somewhere not down town just because we weren't sure how it would be and we are both from the country in Minnesota. Our first night we got there we got a room where there was something in the A/C unit chiming when it turned on all night didn't get much sleep that night. I went to the front desk and they were more than willing to have us switch rooms. We got to go to the other side of the hotel the 2nd and 3rd night which was great because the WWI Museum had fireworks so you could see from our hotel room. Front Desk staff were very nice and willing to help in any way. Will be staying here again when we go back.
Great location - easy access to downtown. Facility is new and still working out a few bugs. On the second night, our climate control died. The front desk quickly had us relocated to a corner room so the hassle was minimized. Lots of TV channels and lots of room in the suites for a family of 4. Pool is good sized and view from the back patio of downtown KC is great. Easy parking, heard no other guests in either room, and staff were all very friendly. Breakfast ran until 10am and was well-staffed and supplied. We would definitely stay again.
