We stayed at this hotel during a recent road trip. The hotel is conveniently located near the interstate. The room was clean and comfortable but small. The workout room is tiny. The breakfast was adequate. It was fine for a one night stay.
Our family stayed at this hotel, to take in the sights of KC, most especially the wonderful KC Symphony. This Fairfield Inn is right off I-35, which makes it very convenient for quick trips into downtown, but with the advantage of "getting away" from the busyness by being on the north side of the city. Service is excellent, hotel is clean, and great food and amenities.
I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed in such a small room before - not even in the big cities. The cliche “you have to step in the hallway to change your mind” sums it up. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t keep your toiletries in there. In fact, the hair dryer was stored in a dresser drawer. There was no place to sit the luggage rack without tripping over it. My CPAP machine barely got on the nightstand. And the elevator noise adjacent to the headboard was annoying too. I’m disappointed I wasted a rewards stay on this room but happy I didn’t pay for it.
The room and hotel were very nice, would be a 4 rating if it was not for the fact that many of the rooms are right on the freeway. We had a king suite and was told by the person that checked us in that all the king suites faced the freeway. You would think that a hotel would be designed so that the rooms that are nicer and cost more are not right on the freeway. Luckily it was winter and very cold when we stayed so the window was closed and the fan of the heater ran quite a bit to drown out the freeway noise. You could actually feel the trucks go by. We will try someplace else next time we go through Kansas city.
Stayed 2 nights here on a business trip. Check-in was flawless & only took a couple of minutes with our reservation. Room was clean & no foul odors as in some hotels, they have a smoke free policy. The staff was very friendly & professional. They have a fitness center & pool & both were very clean. Room also had a microwave & refrigerator.
Check in wAs smooth and flawless. Staff friendly and professional. My room was clean except cob webs along the ceiling/wall line in multiple places. The smell was also bad. CLEARLY was previously a smoking hotel. The odor was attempted to be covered with some sort of air or carpet freshener that essentially added insult to injury. My room was also very humid. At 10:30 there began to be a lot of noise. The walls seems very thin. I eventually called the front desk and they said they would take care of it. I turned on a white noise app. The breakfast area in the morning was clean, stocked and well kept.
We stopped at a few hotels to find the best deal and it was Jephrie who made the decision easy to choose the Fairfield. Helpful, patient and kind. The pool is clean. Rooms are clean Close to a huge selection of restaurants
Every time I am in town I stay at Fairfield Inn the general manager Shelia Outly has always been extremely professional and goes out of her way to help the customers .Staff you can't go wrong they are truly there to make the best of everyone's stay. This property would be worth the extra mile to stay at thank you again for making my stay away from home and easy and relaxing time .Keep up the good work
We stayed here for a week for a family vacation. The first room we were in smelled of stale cigarette smoke. After an hour of breathing the air in the room I had a bad headache. We requested a new room and the gentleman at the front desk was apologetic and did give us another room. Before moving all of our things to the new room we went to check it out and make sure it also did not smell bad. Opening the door we were hit with an even worse smell of cigarette smoke. The gentleman at the front desk again apologized and gave us a room on the other side of the hotel. It did not smell bad. However, the room was very small. The bathroom is tiny, only one person can be in there at a time. Also, the swimming pool was tiny. And my youngest daughter got a weird rash all over her body - either from the pool or the bed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and will not return if we are in the area again.
Long day on the basketball courts with early game tomorrow. Decided to skip driving back to Topeka. Called this property and was greeted by Jephrie. He was so nice and understanding. Really took care of our family. Room is very nice. I would go out of my way to do business with anyone who has Jephrie on their team. Amazing customer service!
