Maybe we were just tired from driving, but we had a hard time finding the hotel. But what a nice treat when we got there...we had a huge, very clean room! We slept well in the comfy bed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Many thanks for a great stay! We will stay again if we get back that way!

Very friendly desk clerk who greeted us promptly. Room 328 is nice with view of a church and quiet. Round table, 2 chairs, couch and coffee table in living area. Only 1 TV in room so difficult to see from bed and table areas. Larger fridge (no freezer compartment) and microwave. Good centrally located ice machine. Newer decor with the open wood vanity. Good size counter area, but lighting is dim. No towel bars or hooks in bathroom. Our shower head was clogged and the diverter needed to be replaced, so water pressure was bad, making rinsing difficult. Reported this to the desk and hope they have it fixed. Very large breakfast area. Staff was keeping trays filled and tables clean. Pool and hot tub were filled with a large group of children, so did not use. Fitness room equipment was wet so did not use that either. Great location with many restaurants in walking distance and Costco just down street.

Our room was clean. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was standard motel breakfasts. However, we were there for 3 mornings, and there was a little bit of change up with what kind of eggs and meat that were offered with it. This is a waffle breakfast--not pancakes. Someone in our party with a different room did not have a refrigerator in their room when they first went in. When it was reported to the front desk, the desk clerk said housekeeping had not reported a missing fridge, and went ahead and assigned a different room. It was nice to be a little off of busy streets and highways.

Having always had luck with Comfort Suites, we booked the on in Independence for our trip to see the total eclipse. Driving into property, you see a closed down beat up restaurant and an empty lot of gnarly grass. There was a beat up pick up filled with trash pulling a junked up RV in the empty lot. The front desk clerk missed one key component of the job...being able to welcome people. The room was nice and spacious as we have come to expect from this chain. However, in the 3 day, 2 night stay, housekeeping never touched our room. Even after we mentioned it to another "friendly" desk clerk. By the time we left, our garbage was overflowing and we had to grab towels off of the housekeeping carts in the hall when they weren't looking. The worst part was yet to come. Now we all know that the complimentary breakfasts are the same old waffles, fake eggs, bacon, ham, bisquists and gravy, etc. and we deal with it. Well, for some reason the Comfort Suites staff in Independence, MO did not know the total eclipse was coming through its area (even though most venues planned for years) and did not order enough food for the breakfasts. Both mornings, the hotel ran out of most of the breakfast items. Again, the front desk didn't see the issue with this complaint and brushed us off. They made off pretty well. We received no housekeeping services and no breakfast. We asked for a credit or partial refund and the front desk clerk thought we were nuts. We asked for a manager and one never seemed to be working. Comfort Inn Corporate - you may want to look into this location!

Burned loyalty points to stay here for proximity to Worlds/Oceans of Fun. New, clean, modern with warm guest room interior and nice TV. Breakfast area was hosting some sort of sports-viewing gathering, which was loud and somewhat audible. Nice indoor pool & large hottub. Breakfast was only ok, with flattened, tasteless egg and overall skimpy selection and crowded breakfast room. Easy parking and surrounded by sit-down chain restaurants right off the interstate. Would stay here again, but probably opt for breakfast elsewhere unless quality/selection is notched up.

We stayed here as a family of 5 for 2 nights on our way through on vacation. The first nights we had to ask for towels & linens for the pull out couch. The pool area had used band-aids, hair clumps, half eaten apples & empty drink bottles all over the pool deck. I also noticed mold on the bathroom ceiling and random unidentifiable things stuck to the wallpaper. I tend to ignore some of these things since it's not a $500 a night room, but mold is just gross. The 2nd day we stayed there we left a note asking the housekeeper for 9 bath towels please. We were left a note in return that said "I don't got no towels at all. Thanks?" and indeed we were left no towels. When we checked out I discussed all the issues with the manager on duty. She did very kindly compensate us for one nights stay. As I was working with the manager my husband had gone back up to the room to get the cooler we couldn't bring down in our first trip to the car. (keep in mind I have not actually checked out of the room at this point) My husband found the housekeeper going through our cooler!!! Thank goodness we hadn't left my purse or our luggage with my medication in it, would she have rummaged through that as well??? In summary this hotel has doesn't have high cleanliness standards, and the housekeeping staff is untrustworthy.

Overall this hotel seems to be quickly needing an update. The shower in our room had spots that looked like rust along the caulking. The air conditioner looked old. Another air conditioner in the hallway was broken. The elevator is making a weird noise when it gets to the 3rd floor. We had to go ask for sheets for the pull out sofa. A good point was that we asked for a late check out and our request was honored. The room overall was very clean and the beds comfortable.

Have stayed thee several times. Never any problems . Breakfast is the usual fare . Always nice and we were able to get in the room early . A great location for us !! Live the roomy rooms with couch area . Several restaurants close by

This hotel should have been refurbished years ago. Bed soft. Couch lumpy and unsittable. This was the only suite available to me for points. Apparantly, hotel was sold out. Did not get a good night's sleep.

Stayed over one night. Was a good stop. Bed was comfortable, room quiet and clean, and desk staff were very nice. Would recommend this place and will stay there again when in Independence. Nice breakfast.
