We booked in here because on line they said they are pet friendly. We are on a long journey from Texas to Tennessee. Well, when we arrived there was a fee of 20 $ for pets, but when we told them we have a cat, they turned us away. Not cats friendly at all.
We booked two non-smoking rooms at this hotel on our cross country trip. There was some sort of game that night in town, so all of the better hotels were fully booked and this was the last that claimed to be pet friendly. Our reservation clearly stated NON-SMOKING. When we arrived, the first room was standard for the price and clean enough that I, the germaphobe, could sleep in it. The second room however, reeked of smoke, had a broken desk collapsed in the room, no desk chair, and an ashtray on the end table. I returned to the office and told the lady there must be some mistake because the one room was a smoking room. She said, "No, that is a non-smoking room." I told her it reeked of cigarette smoke and had an ashtray in the room. She then admitted they had overbooked the rooms and that was the last room they had left. Since all of the hotels were booked, the four of us (and my Jack Russell Terrier)decided we would all stay in the one non-smoking room. (Double beds) The office lady then rang up two invoices for the rooms. I told her we were not going to pay for a room we didn't reserve and couldn't use. She said I could speak with the manager the following day. I explained we were leaving at 5 a.m. and would not see the manager. I refused to sign the second invoice and went to our room. A few minutes later the phone rang and it was the desk lady explaining she had forgotten to charge for the dog, could I please come back to the office and pay for the dog. So back I trudged to pay an additional $20.00 for the dog, even though there was no mention of an additional charge beforehand. Here's the kicker; they charged me for both rooms anyway! I couldn't believe it. Never before have I been charged for a mistake made by the hotel! From reading other reviews, I think there must be some miscommunication between booking.com and the hotel. However, this problem should never be shouldered by the consumer. I have called my credit card company to dispute the charge as it is clearly fraudulent. Some errors, like type of bed etc. can be over looked, but I doubt many non-smokers could have slept in a room that absolutely reeked of cigarettes. I can handle a little bit of the odor, but this room was overpowering to point it made one nauseated. For the room we did stay in, it was standard for the price. The beds were the hard type with no give, so not conducive to a great nights sleep, especially with two adults in a full size bed. I would say the room was cleaner than average for the price, I actually used the shower, which I won't do if it doesn't appear clean. The towels were very rough as is typical with this level hotel. Since we arrived after dark and left before the sun rose, I can't say much about the area. Overall, I would say this hotel's biggest problem is sneaky charges. One for the dog and one for a room we couldn't use.
The place was SUPER CLEAN and the lady at the front desk was really accommodating she even called us once we got in our room to make sure it was up to our standards and that everything was just perfect!!! Can't say enough about this place the price was great and the location was right in the heart of town!!! I would recommend this place to anyone looking luxury accommodations without breaking the bank!!! My wife and I always look for the mom and pop motels, hotels and this one is sure to please even the pickiest of guest!!!
Got two rooms for one night. They were clean and comfortable and quite adequate for a one night stay at a reasonable rate. The desk person was pleasant and efficient. Rooms have been updated. Management is obviously working to improve the property. Would stay here again if in the area.
Horrible manager who insisted that he did not receive our reservation from Booking.com (which we've used a lot and never had problems) and also insisted that all rooms were full (including the one we reserved). We reserved a King bed. We were given 2 full size beds, THEN he told us that he charged us fairly because he did not charge us extra for the 2nd bed. Hotel probably has 100 rooms and only 3 vehicles were on the property during our entire stay.. hard to believe rooms were booked. He argued with EVERYTHING that was said.. Finally offered a room with a King bed; Then proceeded to tell us that we would have to pay for both rooms if we switched because we had USED the room we were first given. The room had not been used, we had only been there for 15-20 minutes. By FAR the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Room did not have any bugs but that was literally the ONLY good thing that I can say about it. Walls were dirty, bathroom door would not fully close and latch. Room did not smell clean. The list goes on.. We were going to leave the hotel and go elsewhere but we were in town for business and my husband had not slept in 2 days. He was exhausted and we did not want to deal with trying to find a new hotel AND having to worry about this place charging us some insane amount for canceling.
Was surprised to find out that we had to drive thru after hours to check in; but was okay! a bit pricey for one night stay; 2 people king bed with tax $75. Conveniently located off I-40. Remodeled Knights Inn. Room was good, bed slept awesome. Would stay again for one night.
We were very surprised. The rooms have been renovated along with the lobby. Would not hesitate to stay here in the future. Several things to walk to close to motel and convenient to Cracker Barrel just down the road.

Was in town for work and stayed for a few days, front desk staff was nice on check in. The room was clean and comfortable, the tub showed some scratches but that is to be expected. the carpet was in good shape and all the other amenities were in good working order. The breakfast was typical fare, although you are not allowed to remove breakfast items from the breakfast area, they are very strict about this!
Just a cheap clean room. Good enough! My only complaint is that I Never could get the wifi to come on. The continental breakfast was pretty skimpy. We ate out! But staff was very responsive and called when we checked in to see if the room was satisfactory or if we needed anything.
