Hotel Purple is a spanking new budget hotel that opened in April 2018, so everything in there is bright, spotless and clean. The hotel is part of The Ascott Group (which runs Ascott Somerset Victoria Park two blocks down). Like it’s namesake, this 20-plus storey hotel has a purple theme – from its carpets, curtails to the in-room Vita mineral bottle. I like that the hotel is so new that its facilities are spotless. Best to book soon as the hotel is so new and fresh-looking. I got a great deal via booking.com at around HKD 500 per night. The best parts of the room are its huge flat-screen TV and the comfy beds and the air-conditioning could be controlled well and wasn’t too cold. For those who are travelling with someone who is handicapped, they have a studio that is wheelchair-friendly, complete with a wheelchair friendly toilet. The interiors are bright and cheery though there isn’t much of a view from my view. (You are either facing the front and back of Wing Heung Street). Location-wise, the hotel is a five minute walk from Tin Hau station – just one stop from the hustle and bustle of Causeway Bay shopping district, within a five-minute walk to Victoria Park for a morning jog and perhaps a 10 minute walk to the Causeway Bay shopping district There are so many food options and a 7-11 shop mere minutes from the hotel at Tsing Fung Road and Electric Road (Japanese, Indian restaurants, a Mak’s wonton noodles and a cluster of dessert shops). There is a good Lung Fung café – perfect for a wallet-friendly breakfast.
Clean, comfortable bed, room is not big but enough fir 1 person, metro, bus stop are near, there is no view even from 22nd floor, no breakfast but at the reception there coffee with snacks, not far from the center
