Y-LOFT located at one of the oldest community in Hong Kong, but the small town doesn't have any historical buildings or place for sight seeing. If one wants to see the way of local residents life, Chai Wan is the ideal town. There are many Hong Kong style cafe, American restaurants, dim sum, etc. Most importantly, the food cost is relatively cheaper with the great quality. Y-LOFT has full amenities and full equipped just as a 5 stars hotel, except no luxurious decorations or furniture. The room is very neat and clean. It has mini refrigerator, electric kettle, private bathroom and toilet. The environment is very quiet and friendly. Security guards petrol 24/7. Although it is not near the city center, it is next to MTR (subway) terminal, about 2 minutes walking distance. It can bring you anywhere in Hong Kong. The rate is reasonable, depends on the season, from US$ 60.00 to 100.00 per night, twin beds.

Finding a cheap hotel in hong kong is a difficult mission, so our group have decided to choose this hostel to stay for 5 nights in hong kong. It was so lucky for us as our decision was definitely right, this hostel was so clean like a hotel. Receptionist was also helpful as well, gave us many tips for our tour. Great experience in here.

Please read my original review for Y-Loft (going back 6 years now!), as it captures basically most of what I would still say: - Good location to Chai Wan MTR station: Once again, take note that Chai Wan is the first/last stop on the Island line. Therefore, please DO NOT come with the wrong expectations that it must be like Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui or the like. It is more a residential area, but given its proximity to the MTR (in addition to buses and taxis), you can head anywhere in HK with ease! - Spacious rooms: Please note just how expensive apartments/properties are in HK! Once you understand that, you get a little idea of why hotels in HK are generally so small (and that will give you an idea of what it must be like for locals who live in apartments the size of a hotel room!). But, why mention this? Well, Y-Loft, in comparison, offers quite spacious rooms! You can quite easily move around the room, open your suitcase without needing to use the bed, etc. without any issue! This is one of the best attributes of the Y-Loft for sure! Ok, so, what's changed in 6 years then? The prices are still quite good, particularly since HK hotels are quite expensive, especially, when you're looking at rooms that cater for more than 2 people! We stayed in a triple room with an accessible bathroom. Last time, we stayed in the second building, but this time, it was in the main block. The room was clean and spacious, but ... I'm not sure if it was just the room or the floor we were staying in, but the Y-Loft certainly looks tired now. This doesn't impact on your stay (unless you're super pedantic or need everything to be brand new!), but is noticeable. For example, the fabric on one of the bedheads was ripped just a little, and the bathroom vanity had some laughable (because it was so poorly done!) silicone squirted around the base of the bowl, but, otherwise, it was fine! Once again, none of these issues impacted our stay at all, but, is just a warning for anyone who expects or demands everything to be flashy and brand new (of which, at least, our room, certainly did not give off such an impression!). I did not use any of the facilities during our stay like the laundry and gym, but I did dine at one of the restaurants (if you show your Y-Loft card, you get 10% off). Unlike my first stay, I don't believe we received any discounts for the theme parks, which was fine, as we were not planning to go there, anyway! Would I go back to the Y-Loft? Yes, I would. Once again, for the price + the spaciousness of the rooms, the Y-Loft still comes up as a solid budget option. However, I can see that the management will need to consider doing some renovations in the near future - even perhaps, just some general paint and minor maintenance to ensure it returns to its former 'freshness'. TIP: Once again, I recommend booking via Agoda, which generally offered the cheapest prices amongst other websites.

I travvelled Hongkong with Family and Y-loft was a good value for the money. My kid also loved the Hotel and the facilities provided inside the Hotel was great. Food is a little problem but near by some small restaurants are available. This hotel is but far from the Mainland but well connected wth the Metro. Staffs at the hotel are also quite receiptive and freindly.

Hotel style facility with hostel level fee. Good location with plenty of trasport links including subway, airport express bus and local bus routes. Lots of eateries around the Y Loft for breakfast, lunch or dinner at reasonable prices too.

Simple but useful enough and fairly clean at a glance despite some occasional inconsistency in the cleaning. It's proximity to the start/end of the line on the MTR makes it ideal despite the distance from the centre. Staff are friendly albeit not always listening and often misinterpreting what's said, sometimes frustratingly so. The restaurants on the 4th floor were a nice late discovery but there are lots of options around.

Y loft have caught me in surprise in everyway, the interior design was extremely user friendly and thoughtful that makes everything so easy and accessible to guest, not to mention the spacious room size, comfortable bed, pillows and reasonable price, the peacefulness(when guests behave well not to slam the door) and friendly staff make you feel so welcomed, in addition, all shops, restaurants and mall are just step away from the hostel, also many beautiful mountains and beaches nearby for people who enjoy outdoor activities, anyway, should l put it this way,its like you are staying at a loft style hostel but feels like 5 star hotel, even better at least that's how I feel, l would highly recommended Y loft to all travellers who come to Hong Kong for leisure or long staying.

Not much to look at from the outside but the rooms are clean and comfortable and large by Hong Kong Standards. It's close to the MTR station and lots of food outlets nearby. Do note that this Hotel is a little out of the central business district, about 20 mins by MTR to Wan Chai.

We've stayed here twice. Both in July of 2016 and this year 2018. By coincidence, we were given the same room. The bathroom is clean but doesn't look it because it old. The exhaust fan doesn't work. The air conditioning needs fixing as it was slow to cool the room. There is no free drinking water, no toothbrush, toothpaste. There is liquid soap. They provide towels. There is an electric heating kettle, hair dryer... btw, there are two mini vaults but were not working. Good thing their young front desk staff and cleaning ladies were amiable. Front desk staff spoke good english. There is a nearby mall - hing wah, with a grocery, mcdonalds, other restos and stores. The Chai Wan mtr is about 10 min walk. We stayed here because the competition was in their Y theater located in the lower ground of the building. If there was a nice hotel beside the venue, we would have booked there.

Very good location, just 300 metres from Chai Wan MTR. It looks for like a hostel than hotel but a very beautifully decorated hostel. There are many amenities in it like microwave oven, pantry area, washing machine, dryer, gym and many dance studios for rental. The room is reasonably spacious.
