Room is good for business trip, clean, neat and tidy. The housekeeping did a good job. Food is relatively ok. Had a few room services, they always forgot to bring butter and jam for my breakfast. Pretty disappointed. Went for breakfast at the feast restaurant once towards 10.30am, staffs are busy wrapping up. I was left waited for a while for someone to take my order then I ended up looking around for the wait staff to serve me. The upside is the location
Brought my friends to Sugar for a pre dinner drink. They are surprised by the 180 degree view of the harbour which it is difficult to imagine when you are on street level. Nice terrace with nature breeze and good quality of wine at reasonable price.
A short stay in a corner room on higher floors. The view is amazing both day and night. Room interior and amenities were modern, comfortable and on-point. We did not use the pool as it was winter. Do check out the roof bar SUGAR, again the view is impeccable, try to get a seat on the edge to get the most of it.
East, as the name would suggest, is located at the East end of Hong Kong Island. It's out of the hectic city centre, but an easy MTR or taxi ride to Hong Kong's highlights. The hotel itself is very stylish, and unlike more central locations, the rooms are very good size, with great decor and all the services you may need. The beds are super comfortable, there are nice toiletries, and coffee making facilities. There is a smallish gym, and decent sized pool. But the real draw card here is the rooftop bar, Sugar which is great for meeting with friends or clients over an evening cocktail. Room service is efficient and well priced. And the breakfast is impressive with a good selection of a la carte along with a decent buffet. The only slight area for improvement would be the coffee. The service is impeccable, from front desk through to the cleaning team, who all seem genuinely pleased to be helpful. If you are looking for an escape from this busy city, but in a convenient location. East is a great place to stay .
I have stayed here on my business trip for four nights. It is a great hotel, right next to the MTR station, the rooms are spacious and have nice view, breakfast had a wide choice and was very yummy. There was a coffee machine in the room and the best shower I have used - so powerful! I would definitely recommend for business and pleasure.
Had an amazing view from my room on 27th floor in a corner. If you are not that lucky, rooftop of the hotel has an even better view on Hong Kong. Very convenient hotel: right out of the subway, close to work, interesting gym with good tools, access to Quarry bay park and waterfront. Rooms very clean and comfortable. A minor drawback was a strange smell in the shower otherwise very well dedigned. Very good breakfast, I recommend the Benedict eggs.
Our second stay at East Hotel was as enjoyable as our first. The room is spacious and well-portioned, location is convenient with direct access to CityPlaza and MTR (minor footnote: Tai Koo Station is only 17 mins away from MTR Central), pool and gym facilities are great, the list goes on... A special shout out to the front desk staff - who go above and beyond to accomodate small requests. They helped me top-up my pre-paid mobile phone, printed off travel documents and confirmed dinner reservations. Accomodation is pretty good value for Hong Kong (I think we paid about $AU300 per night), but I believe at this price, breakfast should be included. I recommend giving breakfast a miss - service and food on the a la carte menu is average at best (expect to pay $AU35 per person for breakfast). Save your pennies for the shops and have breakfast with the locals elsewhere in Tai Koo (Habitu, The Coffee Academics or Wah Cheong are cheap and cheerful in comparison). In terms of laundry, there is a terrific service across the road from the hotel, at British Dry Cleaning. At the end of the week, we offloaded all of our laundry for about $AU15 and it was ready in three hours.
A really great business hotel in Hong Kong - some standout features include; Great use of technology for a swift, paperless check in. Lovely rooms - imaginative modern layouts (and you can hide the ubiquitous big screen tv). Excellent wifi coverage, comfortable beds. Good breakfast buffet, and a decent gym and pool. A couple of interesting, and quirky features - The key card warns you that you 'share' your view with the neighbours, and you absolutely do - looking out straight into the domestic life of the people in the next building, so be careful about using the blinds. Also like the pot of sweets next to the bed, but have had to be disciplined with these given early jet lag wake ups! Super convenient for the Taikoo MTR station - there is an entrances just outside the hotel.
I arrived at this spectacular hotel that was about 30 minutes away from Hong Kong international airport, taking into consideration the rush hour traffic, in the early evening. I was greeted at reception by the team using their Apple devices and touchscreen desk. Check in was quick, casual and to the point. I took the elevator to a mid-floor, corner room that looked out on the neighbouring apartment blocks; (but) the perspective was incredible thanks to the clever use of Venetian blinds around the room. I had a BIG king size bed, with numerous and effective lighting controls and a big tv with the usual international news and sports channels. Interestingly I also had the opportunity to use a hotel provided mobile phone. The room included a big work space (desk, chair, light, power points) for late night working; tv, safe, plenty of room for clothes, shoes, case as well as usual iron, etc. All very effective and appropriate for my stay. The room hid away a mini bar, fridge, kettle for green tea and coffee. Mineral water as standard. Plenty of mirrors too, just to make sure I looked fresh. The bathroom was behind a window, behind the bed, without frosting of the glass (so keep those blinds closed - unless you’re an exhibitionist), and included a toilet, sink and amazingly addictive rainforest shower. Outside of the room there is a fab top bar. I visited that one day of the year that was freezing cold, blowing a gale, stay in your room kind of night but I still ventured up and out to the bar and enjoyed popcorn and cocktails to finish some work and take some photos. Better in the nice weather. To make myself feel good, I visited the gymnasium and had a half hour run and used the weights. There was a nice attendant who gave me a bottle of water and a towel. The gym was air conditioned, had a tv and wasn’t busy. A good place to let off steam. The swimming pool was closed for refurbishment; I was aware of this before travelling. After a long day travelling, I didn’t want to venture out so chose the hotel restaurant for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I chose the buffet as my starter - all you can eat seafood (prawns, lobster, salmon, langoustine) and then pasta for a main course followed by buffet dessert (lots of Asian cuisine this time). It was reasonably priced with some sparkling water. I had breakfast in the hotel both mornings and other than not really knowing who was seeing who to their tables, the food and service were good. Fresh fruit, poached eggs and avocado on toast with bottles of grapefruit juice. Very pleased on both occasions with these hearty starts to the day. Check out was like check in - clinical, easy, emailed invoice. I will stay again, it’s convenient for work and a pleasure. The perfect combination.
My first time staying at the hotel and it's a great place to stay. Modern urban chic feel and environment friendly hotel. Room service meals comes served at your door step in a take away recycled bag instead of trolleys that hotels typically serve the food on, which is interesting. Delicious food too! Rooms with full glassed windows which allows for plenty of natural light in the morning and during the day, which I enjoy. It also has a great view of HK city and a harbour view. Conveniently located next to Taikoo MTR station - literally minutes away. Also next to a mall, it also has many eateries nearby with different cuisines - local, Asian and Western. Rooms are spacious and with modern and chic decor. Service is great. Be sure to check out the bar close to the top floor to enjoy a drink to chill for the evening.
