Good points: Very convenient with shopping centre and MTR next door with internal access on Level 1. 15 min to Causeway Bay, 20 min to Admiralty. Room, bed linen, towels all look very clean. Customer service was great. Bad points but nothing major: I found the pillow too soft. One pillow too low, two pillows too high. Have to open the bathroom door to use the toilet every time. Points to add: Before I went to stay at East, I read a lot of commentary of the East breakfast from other guests. The breakfast costs between hkd 150 to 240 if you eat at the hotel. The food choices and quality are reasonable for its price. But there are other options. You can eat breakfast at the shopping centre for a much cheaper price, but the quality is also lower. There are Macdonalds (open at 6.30am), Starbucks (7am), cafe de coral (7am), Simply Life (8am, level one right outside the hotel internal access to the shopping centre), Treats (8am)....... I took the Airport Express, change at HK station to Taikoo. It was easy. And there are lifts. Took approx. one hour. The alternative was taxi but could be stuck in a traffic jam.
Travelling is part of my job, but long stays are a bit unusual for me, so finding somewhere like EAST has been an amazing discovery in my travel journey. For 12 weeks I stayed on and off at the hotel for 3-4 days at a time, whilst attending client meetings and working on a project. EAST is modern, well located and also attentive to the needs of business travellers. Wifi and desks in room are excellent. Staff are super attentive and work swiftly and guest recognition is excellent esp considering the property is not part of a large chain, or has a guest recognition programme. Breakfast at feast is one of the best in HK, and their lunch and dinner buffets are excellent for colleagues, or event a client relaxed meeting. I can not recommend the hotel highly enough and look forward to returning!
I went to Hong Kong last July 2017 for a business trip. My company booked my hotel at east hotel in 29 Tai Koo Shing Rd, Quarry Bay since this hotel is near One Island East building where my meeting was held. The hotel's location is very strategic. It can be accessed easily with MTR. The Tai Koo Shing MTR exit is exactly beside it. Plus, the hotel is connected to a shopping mall which makes you easy to go shopping or dine in a restaurant. The room is not too big but it is very comfortable. I like the working desk and the sliding cupboard to keep the TV. It is unique. Stored in the cabinet, there is a coffee/tea maker, wine glasses and refrigerator. They even provide an ironing board for you, in case your shirt is not smooth enough. 😄 The design of the bathroom (shower) is also unique. In the roof floor, there is a bar named Sugar. Great view. Great drinks. Great music. Loved it! Last but not least, All the staff are very friendly and helpful. As a summary, this is the perfect business hotel in Hong Kong, by far. Can't wait for my next visit to Hong Kong and stay in this hotel again.
Modern leisure/business hotel with good design features and a great roof-top bar with panoramic views. Entrance to Tai Koo MRT is literally right outside the door. Breakfast was really excellent with a good range of buffet and made-to-order options. My Harbour View Room on 26th floor had a very comfortable bed and a pleasant view of Quarry Bay. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was large and well designed with good facilities, but starting to show its age with wear and tear most evident in the toilet which really let the rest of the room down with stains on floor/walls, plus an unpleasant smell that could’ve been fixed with an air freshener. In-room WiFi was reliable and fairly fast at around 18-19Mbps. Airport pickup seemed overly expensive at $850 for a 40 mins daytime journey, with no alternatives offered apart from a Tesla limousine. However, the friendly and helpful staff went out of their way to help me with my onward journey to Tai O, supplying maps, bus/ferry timetables and guidebooks. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would visit again.
This is the second time we used this hotel. This hotel is not large. It is located within the eastern suburban residential, shopping and office area. Location is very convenient. The MTR is about 50 m outside the door. Which probably can reach city business centre in about 15 minutes. Shopping centres are just right next door, and across a small pedestrian cross. Within the centres there are so many eateries, ranging from HK$40 quick meal to around HK$500. There's Chinese Malaysia ,Indian , Vietnamese, Italian ,French cuisines to name a few. Remember to get a eateries directory from the mall. The hotel rooms are quite small, but due to its modernists simplistic deco, the room appears very bright, and big. Large floor to ceiling window. We have a harbour view room this time. Really enjoy the wide window ledge which I can just sit and enjoy view. We sure will use this hotel again.
A great place to unwind around the pool, enjoy a cocktail with spectacular views of Victoria harbour in Sugar bar and just chill out. Also surround by shops if thats your fancy . We had a wonderful experince from checkin to check out.
Although a little bit out of 'town' the train station is right next door making this a convenient and quiet place to stay. Very modern hotel and friendly helpful staff. Room was average size and nicely furnished. The bathroom is open to the bedroom which is a bit odd and unless you are high up or have a harbour view, you look straight into local apartments (see photos) so remember to close all blinds before using the bathroom! Excellent shower and amenities. I recommend going to the Sugar bar on the 32nd floor for a drink as the views are beautiful especially at night.
This hotel is located at Tai Koo, although it is not in the city centre, you can reach the business hubs within 15 minutes MTR ride. I have booked a harbour view room in order to let myself rest for the whole weekend and ended up it was fascinating! The reception area is modern and the check in is done by Mac Book. When you enter your room, you cannot find the TV because it is hidden at the wall with decoration. The room is about 300 sq feet and it is suitable for my retreat. Using Asia Miles to redeem, I deliberately booked a harbour view room because I would stay in the room to compensate my lack of sleep over the week, and it is wonderful, the Victoria Harbour view next to the bed is impressive. The shower facilities are good too, you can choose tropical rain bath or usual shower and the environment is clean. One bad thing is that the check in area is crowded with people at around 1:45 pm - 2pm on the day of arrival, and some visitors jumped the queue but there was no staff controlling the crowd.
Swire Properties and hotels never let me down in terms of design and decent interior. While the unexpected thing is the extraordinary service that East Hotel staff offer. I go there for leisure or business once or twice a month and they always provide the best hospitality and customized service. From GM, guest experience manager, lobby staff as well as receiptions at Feast, they serve with heart and care, it makes me feel like home. I have no reservation to recommend East Hotel to my friends. Thanks Jennifer, Stephanie, Shanna, Gary, Wayne, Ivan and all staff in East Hotel, they are the best team~!
Stayed here multiple times since it's next to my office and hence becomes convenient. Rooms are small but overall decent hotel. Service is swift and the staff is helpful. Little overpriced but convenient
