1st room was bad. 2nd was still bad just a little better. Normally we would leave but we used points to reduce the amount of this room to $50 a night. Is used to be a Motel 6 and you can see that they're working on improving But the rooms smell really bad and there are burn marks everywhere. Also they have smoking rooms next door to non-smoking rooms so it makes it even worse. The room was newly done and very clean however burn marks all over the bathtub and the tub has black stuff on the bottom of it that apparently is stained in it. If you're a smoker this would be a good place for you. We bought two cans of Febreze soak the room close the door and left for a couple hours. I won't be including this is our regular Room stays when we are working
The place looked like it was falling apart. We only selected this hotel because we were traveling with our small dogs and it was advertised as "pet friendly." I can't believe they have the nerve to charge for pets. Upon entering the room, there was a strong musty smell. Then in the bathroom I noticed, what looked like, dried blood on the bathtub. My husband saw one of our dogs eating something (after coming out from under the bed.) When he looked under, it was clear it hadn't been clean in a very long time. The dust and, what looked like, dry dog kibble was scattered under the bed. We reported everything and the manager did come and had the room cleaned. She apologized profusely but refused to give us a new room. We did NOT feel comfortable at all and did not want to even use the shower. In addition, the "free wifi" didn't work, there weren't any hangers in the room and there wasn't any grass to walk the dogs and the fridge (that we paid extra for) wasn't even plugged in (so it wasn't cold.) We did not feel safe leaving the room after dark. Luckily we were only there for one night.
As I opened the door to the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room looked clean and updated in a way I’ve never seen a hotel room. The floor was a (faux I’m sure) wood and the minimal but sufficient furniture (a matching stain to the floor as well) made a nice impression. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom standard but clean. My only issue is there was no fridge in the room (and I didn’t request one or notice it wasn’t listed when booking) and the only ice machine was in the office which was not convenient to the room. Front desk staff was friendly and check in and out a breeze.
This makes the 2nd time we have stayed at this motel. Both times, the staff was very nice. Both times, our room was very clean. Completely satisfied! (We stay at the Linda Lane location in Harrisonburg, VA. We do not reserve rooms at the Motel 6 on South Main Street,Harrisonburg, VA due to their roach problem.)
First room was reeking with cigarette smell......second room was okay. The room was nice, clean....bed linens show that they press there sheets after washing...impressive. Towels are nice an thick...very little sink space, but clean. They do not serve breakfast, only coffee......not good for a motel that is competing with so many other motels in the same price range. Forgot......the room does not have any furniture to relax in, only 2 chairs at a small table which are hard chairs....no clock..... One night is all this place is good for.....
I made a rather last-minute stop in Harrisonburg, VA last Saturday night and decided, with some apprehension, to just go quick-and-simple with the local Motel 6. The property looked really nice, building well-maintained, parking area in good condition and pleasantly lighted. The Front Desk Receptionist was very nice, I got to chat with the housekeeper. The room was simple but clean and everything in working order. When I departed Sunday morning the lot was nearly full, so a goodly number of guests had arrived in the wee hours but were quiet -- a rare thing these days no matter where one stays. All good! Someone there is paying attention to things!
Front desk staff was friendly. Room was in good condition. Hot coffee in the morning , plenty of restaurants near by to choose from and convenient location for Shenandoah National Park and the interstate. Traffic was a little loud.
We stay for one night and I could not have done more. It was very run down and dirty. I didn’t get much sleep because of the noise and cleanliness. The check in staff was friendly. There wasn’t anything in particular that stands out but it just had an overall dirty feel.
The Motel 6 chain has a business model of providing minimal amenities at minimal cost, thus providing a place to stay for people who need little more than a roof over their bed. This Motel 6 was typical of this chain. My room had a full-bath, phone, AC, and TV with dozens of channels. It was clean, well-maintained, and quiet. Free amenities included parking, small pool, wifi (it was okay), morning coffee, and a microwave in the lobby. The staff was courteous and professional. The area has innumerable restaurants and chain shops, so you can quickly get pretty much any type of food or merchandise you might need or want. If you just need a place to stay for a day or two, either while driving down the interstate to somewhere else or while visiting Harrisonburg, this place will be adequate.
I cannot say enough positive things about this motel. It was simple, modern, colorful, and clean. I loved the decor. I loved the simple flooring. Super affordable price and friendly staff. Fast check in after booking on hotels.com. This hotel was 20 miles off my highway route. It was worth the extra 40 miles to stay here. Pet friendly. I strongly recommend.
