Fantastic service and amenities, location. Definitely recommend the dinner package

I like staffs, food and Onsen, but hotel(maybe my room) is kind old. I wouldn't mind stay again though.

Nice indoor and outdoor pool. Experienced ten courses dinner and breakfast buffet. All good.

Good: The rooms themselves are very spacious compared to the typical Japanese hotel and the traditional style is fitting for the area. The private onsens are relaxing and the rate is relatively affordable. The Hakone station can be used to access Odawara or any of the smaller towns in the mountains. Bad: While the spa services rates aren't bad, the spa itself is hardly worth mentioning. It appears to be an afterthought and they can't accommodate two people in the same time slot so we didn't end up using it. Nothing in Hakone opens before 8AM and it is all closed well before 8 PM. The one exception being a 7 eleven. Conclusion: The hotel itself is average for those used to a typical hotel in the US, but the traditional Japanese rooms and feel to Hakone give it some novelty. That novelty does wear off very quickly however and your left with a small town with nothing going on. It's easy to find yourself on a train to Odawara for dinner. Overall our time here was less relaxing and more stressful than I wanted it to be. If we could do it over I would stay in Odawara and do a short day trip to the Hakone area and get only the good parts of the experience.
