We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was large and comfortable and service was very good. At first sight the hotel looks very posh and luxurious but when you take a closer look you can see it need an update. We had a room facing the river. That was a bit of a let down since we looked straight into a parkinggarage and the river was very smelly. We could not keep the teracedoor open due to the bad smell. Both breakfast and diner were very enjoyable and diner was a nice Japanese experience we really enjoyed.
I stayed at the Hakone Pax Yoshino with my mum as part of a trip to Japan. This hotel was beautiful! It offered an authentic Japanese experience without having to sacrifice for luxury. They offer a beautiful dinner and breakfast, in addition to a soak in an Onsen. The hotel were very accomodating and picked us up and dropped us off st the train station so we didn’t have to carry our bags. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Hakone area!
”Location was good, although its far from the Hakone attractions. They have a shuttle from the train station and it was very helpful. The room was good and we paid and had an hour at the private Onsen which was great and we really liked it. Dinner was unique, we enjoyed it. We have 2 young kids, they enjoyed the kids corner (which has toys and games), and really liked the small outfits and shoes they got, they didn't find much to eat at dinner. Breakfast was fine also.”
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night as part of G Adventure Japan Express guided tour. We walked 10-15 minutes from the station to the hotel enjoying the amazing water falls. Very clean place. Massive rooms. Full set of Yakutas, slippers, tea/coffee facilities but no tea bags (bring your own), 10 big bottles of gorgeous shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, face cleanser, toner, body lotion as well as men’s after shave toiletries. Breakfast was very good, combination of Japanese and Western (toast, pastries, cereals, fruits, porridge, eggs.... The whole group had a traditional Japanese dinner which most people thought was amazing (not me as I don’t like their cuisine). The hot spring baths was very special, very hot, indoor and outdoor.
We were visiting Hakone national park and were staying one night in this hotel. We got a taxi from the station and glad we did it’s quite hidden and the name of the hotel isn’t that visible. It is quite a modern serene hotel, very relaxing. We stayed in a Japanese style room and wasn’t disappointed. We had an end room with a side view of the river and hills as well. You can dress up in Japanese style clothing and have a walk round. The hotel is situated in a lovely area just off the main street. Included was a Japanese evening meal which was presented beautifully, but it just isn’t my type of food but still a great experience to try. Breakfast was good and we had a lovely relaxing stay.
If you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience, this is recommended. Beautiful rooms. Loved the onsen baths. If you would like, you can reserve aprivate bath. The cost was minimal and well worth it. Breakfast had many options and was very good. We did end up in a room next to smoking room and the odor was o overwhelming. We spoke to front desk and they did a quick treatment of the room and it resolved the issue. We had a lovely dinner and a nice stay.
This hotel was selected for the quality of the room with a private Onsen, river and mountainside views, public onsen and spa facilities and excellent food. It really did not disappoint. It is a typical Japanese styled hotel so if you are expecting the service to conform to Western expectations and are not willing to go with the Japanese flow.....it’s not for you. For us it was the perfect finish to our Japan adventure. The staff were friendly, the room very comfortable and the set menu which was included in the booking was a work of art. It was a traditional Japanese set meal and included sushimi 😋and a lovely beef dish.
Stayed here for two nights, very comfortable way to enjoy the Japanese experience of Ryokan and Onsen. Rooms were very comfortable and well looked after. Onsen was an experience for sure. Ate evening meals and breakfast here and it was very tasty.
15 mins walk from Hakone Yumoto station. There’s also ¥100 bus that goes there. Typical Japanese Ryokan with traditional rooms which is turned down to futons for sleeping at night. Reserved the private bath for after dinner. Kaiseki dinner was exquisite and carefully prepared and presented. Room was cost and comfortable for the night. Breakfast buffet was up to 9am. Was there late... they allowed us to bring breakfast to our rooms. All staff were polite and accommodating (and speaks English). Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would not hesitate to come back to this hotel.
We stayed here for one night on a very windy and cold day in Hakone. We were so relieved the minute we walked through the door - the lobby felt clean and inviting, with a very peaceful atmosphere. Our room had all the essentials and was much larger than we had expected! It did have a slightly musty smell but not enough to bother us. The real highlight of our stay was to use one of their private onsen in the evening. It was so inviting and well thought out, it felt like a real treat! We would definitely recommend doing this.
