As a new Yorker I've always been impressed with southern hospitality, but this place takes it to another level. They were very accommodating and assisted us with anything we asked for. A special thanks to Tonya at the front desk. Your assistance and patience is truly appreciated. Thank you!
My experience prior to arrival was quite shaky with my reservation and being told that I could not do this and that. Thanks to the manager Evan things were straightened out. Upon my arrival the ladies at the front desk were phenomenal...Thank you Dayna & Tamara. A few things were not going right in my favor but with patience the ladies resolved my problems and I had a wonderful stay. For the money paid and the services received I am very well pleased with choice in hotels.
The hotel itself was a pretty typical HIE. When I made the reservation the guy I talked to on the phone explained that the rates went up as the weekend neared, up to $149 for Friday night. I went ahead and booked the room knowing that there was no way I was going to stay there on Friday with that crazy rate. I got off of the phone and called the Hampton Inn just down the road and got a room for Friday night for $127. The room at the HIE was the smallest hotel room I've ever been in. I really don't need a large room for myself but I thought it was funny That they were getting $149 for a room that tiny. When I made the reservation the guy I talked to, British accent, told me that the rates went up because of people traveling to the beach and staying there overnight. It seems unethical to me to gouge people anytime... There's also a huge horse complex across the road and I guess they gouge the horse people on weekends too. When I went to the Hampton Inn on Friday I got what may have possibly been the largest hotel room I've ever stayed in and it was $20 less. Both Hotels were clean and have there standard breakfast and the Hampton Inn's is better. People at both hotels were friendly and both were clean.
Booked this hotel after reviewing website for amenities. This was our stopping point in our travel to the outer banks coming from Iowa. We were meeting family and were looking forward to connecting and relaxing in the spa and pool area after long days of travel. Upon arrival and check in we discover the hotel is under major renovations, mind you I booked this two months in advance. We get to our room and it's musty odor was bearable, we head to the pool and spa area on a nice evening and discover deplorable conditions. The spa is empty except for the few inches of stagnant big infested water not functional. Pool was cracking around the edges and was not able to be relaxed in since there was also a little league team enjoying some cool Down time. We head to our rooms For the evening and discover the tv is not functional, all cords were discovered not connected, the fridge in the room Was also not working. Upon checkout I informed the clerk of the issues, I was assured a manager would be in touch, ten days later and there has been no contact at all. This property is in disrepair, staff lacks integrity response to issues, no apologies offered, no follow Up with a customer, I have mailed my ihg rewards card back to ihg and will never stay at another one if there properties. Websites photos are no way the property photos. Do not stay here the price for the service is out of know, motel six is a better option!
If you're unfortunate enough to have to stay here hope that you're not unfortunate to have Tonya check you in. Worst service ever and horrible rooms! After driving 4 hours and finally getting here we walked in at 9 pm on 5.4.17. Tonya was finishing up with another guest, we waited patiently and didn't even get so much as a smile or her letting us know that she would be with us. The phone rang and she answered it, finished up with the guest in front of her and went back to the phone call. She finished the phone call, us now being the only ones left in the waiting area, still she didn't great us. No eye contact, nothing. We watched again trying to be patient. She collected the paperwork from the previous guest, still nothing so we finally spoke up. My mom kindly asked if she was going to help us. In return we got a a cold response. I immediately asked for her name. My mom let her know that it would be nice if she greeted her guest...all we got was excuses oh I had a lady that blah blah blah. We dropped it. She gave us our room number room which I will not mention as we are still here. Walking down the hall it was clear she gave us the worse room she could find. See photos attached. Upon opening the door the room smelled and felt damp and humid. I immediately went to the air conditioner to turn it down, putting it on the coldest setting it blew nothing but the same humid air. Looking in the bathroom it was clean enough albeit the ceiling looking as though it could come down anytime. Not wanting to put our bags on the floor I went to the closet for the luggage rack, just our luck, of course it's broken. That was the final straw for us. We called up front to ask for another room. Tonya told us they were fully booked and there was nothing left available. We didn't believe this so I called the reservation line. I asked for a room not mentioning that I was currently here. As I thought there were rooms available. She asked if we wanted a king or a double. I let her know what was going on, I wish I got her name but I didn't. She told me she would get someone form guest relations and asked me to hold. 20 minutes passed nothing, dead silence, but I still patiently held the line. At around 25 minutes guess what, I for dropped back into the queue. She never came back. My mother decided to call from her phone as we immediately connected to an agent. Again we explained what was going on but seemed to be getting no where. I decided to go back up front to see if I could get a manager. Now insert Sissy, Tonya was still up there however now on the phone. I was excited to talk to Sissy she was helping another guess laying on the customer service thick. I soon realized this was a front. Tonya was on the phone with customer service, called my moms name. I went over to her and let her handle the call. I let Tonya know that I called reservations and they told me there were still rooms available. At this point Sissy decided to interject still having a guest in front of her. She immediately took a tone with me. I told them that I did. It appreciate being lied to about not having another room after they just gave the other guest two rooms on the second floor. Sissy again interjected and said that once people get settled into their rooms that they don't like to move them. So I asked her if this meant that guest satisfaction with their rooms weren't important. She didn't like this. Sissy continued to interrupt my conversation with Tonya raising her voice at me several times. Frustrated I asked for her name she told me I wasn't going to make her lost her job since she has great reviews... ok We were finally offered another room and asked to look at it before we moved and honestly it wasn't any better. I told Tonya we would just stay where we were. She said that she would tell her general manager but I find that unlikely as she didn't mind lying to use before. God this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I don't make a habit of staying at the Holiday Inn and now I know why. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
Would have received 5 stars but they appeared to of been renovating. Otherwise the rooms were nice and the beds wonderful. Breakfast was hot and plenty to choose from. Front desk staff friendly. In my opinion the price was a bit steep...but they are the only hotel across the street from the Senator Bob Martin Ag Center so I am sure the hike up the price, and get it, due to that. Steak next door is great as well.
We were looking for a place to spend just the night to continue our journey. Didn't have reservations and we didn't have a problem to get a room. It was okay service. Breakfast had options but not so healthy. Room was clean. Walls in hall were without wallpaper and remodeling.
This hotel is the best. The mattresses are new and sleep so good! I am in love with the pillows. No one cooks bacon like Kim! And the front desk staff are so accommodating. I called daily and spoke with Pamela to get a room and she worked me in. Tonya and Dayna were so friendly and helpful in giving directions. This is the place to stay in Williamston!
Trip adviser needs to lower there score because this property is disgusting. It looks good in the pics but it is a lie. the beds have serious stains and you can never get a hold of management staff. The manager will even pretend to be a staff member just so he doesn't have to deal with disgruntle customers. They did give my kids "some" of there money back but it took an act of congress!!! we were there in March of 2016.
Myself and 2 other co workers stayed here for a couple of days while having to be in town. They are in the process of renovating, but that did not distract from our pleasant stay. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were clean. The staff there were very friendly and hospitable. Tonya and Pamela, two of the front desk clerks we spoke with during our stay we're OUTSTANDING, as was a gentleman whom we thought was the owner. They provided us with everything we needed and went above and beyond. Even going as far as printing out a menu for a restaurant that delivered to the hotel so that we did not have to leave the room if we did not want too or was too tired to go out. I would definitely recommend staying here if you ever needed to be on the area.
