I travel a lot and stay in a lot of motels but without a dought this is the worst place I have ever tried to stay ,dirty sheets ,dirty bathroom ,a toilet that wobbles like a three legged hobby horse moldings falling of the walls,alarm clock doesn't work,and the smell was absolutely the worst I have ever smelled.The worst I have ever experienced. Never again for us .By the way we had 2 rooms and both rooms were the same way. Worst money ever spent out of my pocket. Place needs to be torn down.
We stayed here on our way back home from our coastal trip. The evening staff was really nice and helpful, the room was mediocre, and the beds were not much to talk about. But for the rate it really wasn't that bad. Other reviews I read I would agree with, some I disagree with. I don't have a pet so all of the other reviews complaining about the pet fee didn't worry me. I probably wouldn't stay here again. Oh and the most important thing I should mention was there so called continental breakfast. We assumed it wouldn't be good so we bought our own breakfast items from Walmart across the street. I was interested in going down to the office in the morning just to see what the breakfast had to offer. It consisted of apples, oranges, rice Krispy treats, hoe hoe chocolate cakes, coffee, and orange juice. Not impressed
if you want to sleep on a soft bed don't go here, layed down to get some sleep felt like i was laying on bricks.went to front desk to ask for a refund and all he told me was that the beds were new only a year old,as for the refund no luck.will not be going here no more.....
This is a older place that needs a makeover. There is nothing major wrong, just some little things that keeps this hotel from getting better reviews. the only clock in the room is on the microwave that is around a corner and can't be seen from the room. The TV worked fine for awhile and then turned to snow. It would clear up and do it again in an hour or so. Shower head needs to be replaced, water only come out of half of the holes. The rug is dirty enough that you leave black footprints in the bathtub when you shower. Location is good, sometimes making a left out of the parking lot is a pain. It is close to many places to eat or shop. Check in and out was quick and easy. Friendly staff. I would stay again.
Able to park by our room and had a good spot to walk our dog. Non smoking room smelled like it previously was a smoking room and was in need of repair. Bed was comfortable, had fridge and microwave. Area is noisy.
Our commercial construction crew stayed here while working on a project in Washington, NC. It was conveniently located right near the job site, which was perfect for our crew. The staff was easy to work with when it came to booking the hotel and paying for it from the office.
Booked through Hotwire and was assigned to Econo Lodge North. I travel through Washington often and have stayed at several local hotels, and was willing to give this place a try with an open mind. When I arrived to check in, I was told that I was given a smoking room. Nowhere in my reservation process did I indicate that I wanted a smoking room. I showed my confirmation which also did not say smoking room. Hotel staff ("Mike") said that there was no non-smoking room available, even though the parking lot was completely empty at close to 5PM. Also, (trap!) the 24 hour cancellation period had passed so there was no way to cancel my reservation. Hotel staff was not trying to be helpful at all. There aren't many ways for consumers to fight back businesses like this -- except to take note of experiences like this and NOT allow them to take advantage of you in the future.
I recently stayed at the Econo Lodge in Washington, NC. I was visiting my brother for the weekend and was traveling with pets. This place was labeled a pet friendly hotel, which it was. Their pet policy on the website states 10.00 USD per night as their pet fee, did not mention how many pets, what the weight limit was nor whether this was a per pet fee. It stated 10.00 USD per day (and if you look on the hotel's website right now that is what you will see). Being that I am a responsible pet owner I contacted the hotel before even making my reservation to verify their pet policy. Cathy is who I spoke to and she stated the pet fee was 15.00 dollars per night (a blanket fee) and it did not matter how many pets I brought as long as I paid the pet fee. Even though there was a discrepancy from the fee stated on the website and what she told me over the phone 15.00 per night was not a big deal and I proceeded to book my reservation. When I arrived at the hotel for check in I noticed the sign in the lobby about pets and their fees. It stated just as Cathy told me over the phone the pet fee was 15.00 per night. No mention anywhere that it was a per pet fee. I paid the room fee and the pet fee she charged of 30.00 (staying 2 nights at 15.00 per night). I was given a credit card receipt reflecting the total charge for my stay, which I signed for. Come Wednesday after my weekend trip, I check my credit card account and to my surprise there was a charge made to my account (that Saturday of my stay) for 60.00. I called the hotel to investigate this charge and was told by Cathy that the manager ran my card number because I owed more of a pet fee than I was originally charged. I should mention also that on check out the manager Mike was there, steps from behind the desk to point at the pet sign and says, "you had a pet, you need to pay the fee." I explained to Mike that I already paid the fee on check in and would gladly show him the credit card receipt that reflected this charge. This manager took it upon himself to charge my credit card 60.00 without my knowledge, without my consent, and without my signature on a credit card transaction slip. When I called the hotel to ask Mike about this charge he stated that he would absolutely not return the full 60.00, that he would only refund 30.00 because we had two pets and their pet policy states its 15.00 PER PET per night. Again, no where on the website states per pet, nor on their hotel sign, nor told by their employees. This manager fraudulently charged my card and stole money from me and refused to return the amount he stole. And by the way, we have yet to see the 30.00 refund Mike did say he was going to give us. PLEASE BEWARE OF THEIR SHADY TACTICS WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD! Also to mention, if you are looking for quality accommodations, steer away from this hotel. We were first given a room where there were already tenants occupying the room, went back for a second room and got put beside a room where people had pulled chairs out on the walkway and were drinking and very disturbing, and finally our third room, we had to go out and buy sheets and a comforter for the bed because we were so leery about sleeping on the sheets provided being that we found blood stains on the mattress. For the most part, the staff was nice, housekeeping was accommodating, but the general manager was NOT. There are much nicer accommodations in the area, check those out before booking here!
Stayed here one night en route to Outer Banks. Traveling with dog so limited choices. Room was clean and quiet. Price was great, and minimum pet fee made this an easy choice for one night. Evening attendant very helpful and accommodating. For those traveling on budget or with pet, this is a good place to stay.
Yes the place is old and could use some updating, but I have been staying the Econo-Lodge each time I come to Washington because they are dog friendly, you cannot beat the price and they, Cat at the front desk and Mike the manager, really want you to enjoy your time here. I have been here at least 10 times in the past two years. They promptly bring you extra towel and pillows and want you to be happy. On my last visit I had difficulty with the room smelling of smoke and told Mike. He not only listened to me, he fixed the problem by changing some of their policies. When I came back again this visit (writing this review from my room) everything is so much better, smell wise, a bit updated and cleaner too. Thanks Mike and Cat for keeping me a customer.
