FISHING - The majority of new folks who move to “Greenback”(as the natives call it) do so because of the excellent fishing in the Atlantic Ocean and the Chincoteague and Chesapeake bays. You can drop a line from any of the landings to the north or to the south of Greenbackville along the Chincoteague Bay for drum, rock, flounder, sand shark, etc. in season. And surf fishing in the ocean is excellent. Landings all along the shoreline provide excellent opportunities for crabbing, and the sandy bottom in the shallow parts of bay is a fun place to clam.
