Carlton George Hotel

We were skeptical about the free minibar, but it was a reality! They restocked each day. The Executive Lounge was the perfect place to meet other travelers and people from Scotland, too! The hotel is right around the corner from the train (which we used to travel to Edinburgh and Loch Lomand) and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance, e.g. George Square, museums, Necropolis, etc. Shopping and excellent restaurants are just a couple of minutes away. This is the hotel to stay at while in Glasgow! I am SO glad Orbitz had this as an option for our hotel/flight package!!!

We stayed at the Carlton George in Glasgow in September. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. We enjoyed the free liquor bar in our room and on the 7th floor. Our room was beautiful and we did appreciate the air conditioning. Everyone at the front desk could not have been more helpful. Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel was located right in the heart of town. Close to many historic areas and buildings. Also great shopping area.

The hotel is excellent in quality, class, and comfort, and outstanding value for money.

Great hotel, close to City Center, top floor view restaurant. Just the best and everyone was very helpful. Next time I'm in Glasgow I will definitely stay at Carlton George.

This hotel was great. The staff were most helpful with any wants and wishes. The room was a good size with a fully stocked liqueur cabinet that was included in the room price. The Carlton George is in the heart of Glasgow with everything at your doorstep. Pubs, restaurants shopping and transit. Would book this hotel again.

- Good room space offered in the Club Rooms - Nice range of Complimentary Drinks found in the room - Spacious and Comfortable Club Lounge at the top of the Hotel - Bigger TV would have better suited to the spacious Club Rooms - Bed seems to be already soft in the middle due to prolonged use

The location is wonderful ... city center next to the underground and station, short walk to buses and all kinds of eating. We did not use the hotel restaurant, so no comment possible. Room small but impeccably fitted out, though the only view was of a narrow atrium within the building, and when the window was opened there was a droning noise from machinery above. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, the hotel is ok. I could recommend it. Pros Great Location (near George Square) Free Internet Free Minibar Clean Quick Check-in/Check-Out Helpful with Glasgow information and assisted in having a car take us to the airport (helpful staff). Cons Tub was, well... weird. The way it turned on/off regarding the shower was unusual, and the tub was slippery. No rubber mat for the tub either. The room was simple with strange decour. Honestly felt more like a three star hotel to me.

Food was bad. Check-in was chaotic. Room on first floor with lots of street noise. Lounge was worthless at $50 per night. No canapés/food. What was the $50 for? Would not recommend unless it is your cheapest option in town!

We found the staff at the. Hotel to be most pleasant and helpful all questions were fully answered and, usually, additional information Added that proved to be most. Useful.what was really. Surprising was the fact that the staff made it extremely clear that their task was to ,make you comfortable and this was their number one goal. They did indeed succeed. The. Location wasf fantastic 'we found that the entrances to the subway the train station and the bus stops were almost in front of the hotel. We were only minutes from eveything, on top off this some of the best restaurants, shopping.mall s were in walking distance of the hotel"

The hotel is located in the middle of Glasgow, an easy walk to all attractions and the huge pedestrian mall. Our room was neat, clean and well appointed. The room included breakfast, the honor bar was free and included a Single Malt, Gin, Sherry, and wine. The bed was comfortable with good pillows allowing for an excellent night of sleep.

We had a great trip and the hotel made a difference. I don't think think the hotel or the staff could have been better.

Great central location in Glasgow. Room very nice, hotel quiet and staff very friendly. Parking a little far away from hotel, but then again everyone walks in Scotland!

The location of this hotel couldn't have been better. Step out the front door and you're right by the train station and in walking distance of all the best Glasgow has to offer. The room was nice and cozy while still spacious and the well-stocked mini-bar was a nice bonus. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and very helpful, whether we were searching for restaurants, buses, or recommendations on what to do and where to go. The Windows restaurant is not to be missed - at breakfast it is delightfully sunlit with an overview of the city, and the full Scottish breakfast is excellent. Overall, we had a great stay and will most definitely go back to the Carlton George next time we're in Glasgow. :)
