Jurys Inn Edinburgh

The hotel was a basic 3 star hotel. Restaurant was good and bar area. However the rooms were bare minimum with thin towels. While the rooms were acceptable for a 2 - 3 star hotel. They definitely were not acceptable for the price we paid.

Lovely staff and clean room, right in the midst of all the places/activities on our itinerary. Close to train station, very convenient.

Lovely time. Some desk confusion, but easily resolved.

I first arrived my hotel room and noticed the chemical smell immediately. At first, I thought, 'Oh, nice they recently cleaned.' I only realized later it was to mask the smell of mold and mildew that was very apparent when I later arrived back into my room. When taking a shower, the mold and mildew was everywhere grout, ceilings, etc. The rooms were quite outdated. I was truly disappointed as I've known many to have used Jurys in the states.

The hotel could use some upgrades, as the rooms seem a bit dated, but overall it was a very comfortable stay in a very central location. We didn't have to walk more than a few minutes before we were at all the places we wanted to go.

touring Ireland with friend .great location for our train holiday.

luv this hotel! clean and very close to the train station. We enjoyed our Edinburgh trip!

Great location, easy access to Royal Mile which has lots of stores and restaurants, short walk to Edinburgh Castle. Room was big and spacious. Breakfast was standard. The hotel rooms don't have a/c and it was very hot in the room as the windows only opened partially ( there was a heat wave going on when we were there). We stayed on the 7 th floor and the noise from the train station was too much at times. The bathroom was small. The staff was courteous. Overall a nice hotel to stay .

Our hotel had a flight of stairs up the Royal Mile and everything was within walking distance. The train station is a short walk across the street slightly uphill but pretty good considering we had big luggages. Staff were also friendly.

The location is great - between the two main shopping / tourist streets. The shower was not great in terms of water pressure. I also found the thermostat (radiator heating) difficult to control. Breakfast was good.

This hotel is across the street from the train station so it took us less than 5 minutes to get there with our luggage. Check in was smooth and friendly. We chose a room with a view (523?) which the woman checking us in warned might be loud but as we were high up, we took the risk. The view overlooked Carlton Hill and although we could hear the train station announcements until around midnight it was definitely worth it. By European standards the room was huge. We had plenty of room to spread out our luggage and didn't have to struggle to move around each other like other places we stayed in Great Britain. The toilet flushed slow but I found most toilets in Edinburgh like this so I suppose it's just a Scottish thing. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of extra pillows and linens. We didn't pay for breakfast to be included but went down the first morning and paid cash to check it out. It was an average buffet but not good enough to visit again for the price (10 pounds.) They did have a good choice of fresh fruits, yogurt and yummy infused waters but I had to use tea bags and dispense hot water from a coffee machine. Really?! This is the UK, I expect a good cuppa not an American-style sub par imitation. The location can't be topped. The hotel was at the end of a close which led directly to Prince's Street

Great location right next to the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Everything else was acceptable, nothing stood out in either a good or a bad way.

Hotel prices in Edinburgh generally were a bit high. We were looking for a hotel where we could pay a decent price but be in the heart of the city, as we only had a weekend to spend. Jurys Inn fit all of that criteria. It isn't the most luxurious hotel you will stay at, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable, and its a short walk away from the train station and most of the sites. It was everything we were looking for.

This place is at walking distance from the Edinburgh train station. It also close to the royal mile. The staff was very pleasant and always willing to answer my questions. Most restaurants would not take my 3 year old after 8 PM, so the only option besides some diners was the bar at the hotel. The bar tender was great and I probably spoke with for couple of hours. And also financially this worked out great for me as I couldnt find any other hotel so close to the train station at this price.

Staff is wonderful, and the location is perfect on the "royal mile". We were there to check out the Univ. of Edinburgh - my daughter was considering going there. So we also wanted to get to know the city. When we needed a cab to the airport at 3:30 a.m., they got a great driver, and offered a wake up call. They recommended a nice little place, just up the way, for tea. The beds were comfy, the room was clean - but....But when you first walk in, there was a distinctly musty, almost moldy smell - and I confess I did not complain about it. I probably could've gotten a different room. Perhaps it was because the vent in the shower did not work? There was a note saying "do not open the door to the room" while showering. I suspect a carpet cleaning might well fix this. I would recommend this.

Booked this same day while searching for something affordable on the royal mile. We feel like we really lucked out. It was by far the most affordable. We were surprised when we showed up at what a fabulous location it was and how great the hotel was. Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was huge! Everything was extremely clean and inviting. I have the amenities a 3 star for 2 reasons...paying for wifi is annoying!!! Also a light continental breakfast would've been extra nice. Other than that I would give it a glowing review. Stay here!!!!

easy access to all the sites of the city, clean, well kept and friendly/helpful staff. couldn't ask for more!

This was the third hotel we stayed at in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. This was by far my favorite one. The location is perfect, just a short walk through a close up to the Royal Mile or heading out the other way a short walk to Waverly train station and New Town. So convenient. The room was comfortable and clean. We had 3 in the room, my husband, daughter and myself with a queen and a single. Big windows, nice bathroom, extra blankets and pillows. The TV had more channels than other hotels we stayed out. This may seem silly to comment on the TV when you are in such a vibrant city with so much to do but by the end of our 10 days in Edinburgh we enjoyed having a little down time in the hotel room checking out the local TV which really gives you the flavor of where you are. The hotel staff was very accommodating. We had a kettle in the room that did not work so they immediately brought us another one and comped us 24 hour internet access with apologies for the kettle issue. (Be prepared to pay for Internet access at hotels. 5-10 pounds a day.) The only down side was the walls were a bit thin and you could hear the plumbing from adjacent rooms. It was not enough to bother us though.

Arrived early at 8.30am, check in was 2pm, they allowed us to check into a smoking room which wasnt unpleasant. Walls are thin, location was great. I would stay here again.

thin walls, great staff, great location, was allowed to check inn early (8.30am) check inn was 2pm.
