Stayed here with my partner, great location, great food and drinks. The cocktails in the bar were absolutely great and the breakfast was also great value and the highest quality products. Would definitely recommend.

Our first day off since February and we headed on back to our favourite place Le Monde, for a night away from work. This was going to be our third stay. The welcome was lack lustre and we didn’t feel very welcome, when we arrived. You normally are offered a glass of champagne but we were never offered a glass, by the receptionist. No acknowledgement that this would be our third stay at Le Monde. We’d been booked into the New York suite which was biggish but only had a very small shower with no bath. I like a bath. I went down to reception and asked if they had another suite with a bath. That’s when I met James. I can’t say enough wonderful things about James, he was at the hotel to do a maintenance job on one of the lights in the Cairo suite. He said he’d show me the suite to see if I liked that better. It’s got a huge double bath and a separate shower and was very much better than New York, though the bed is just a double bed and situated by the door, to the entrance of the room. I said we’d take it and we talked at length with James about this and that, what we all did for a living and general very lovely chit chat. James wanted to show me the Casablanca suite and he disappeared off to get us the keys. The Casablanca suite is huge with a separate bath and shower and a huge bed, like the one in the Tokyo suite. I’d say it matches the opulence of the Tokyo suite and is very grand. Back to Cairo we went and some more small talk with James. Did I mention he’s a super lovely man? James asked us if we’d like a wee bottle of fizz which was supremely kind of him and away he went and returned with an ice bucket, 2 glasses and a bottle of fizz. We were really touched on how warm, friendly and kind he was - he made up for the lack lustre welcome from the receptionist, when we arrived. We had plans for dinner and when we were on our way out, James was back and had bought us chocolate Lindt Bunnies. What an unexpected lovely gesture and I can’t honestly thank him enough for being so kind and hospitable to us. On to the nitty gritty of our stay. - The sink isn’t bolted down and Jeff nearly took the sink off the wall, when he leaned on it. - The door to the bathroom was off it’s hinges at the top. - The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. - The Cairo suite sits directly above the bar and restaurant and the boom boom of the music was overpowering. - The double bed was on casters and proceeded to scoot backwards and forwards, every time we moved. - Being right by the door we could hear everyone as they came back to the rooms through the course of the night. - Someone tried our door which was supremely disconcerting and a bit frightening as they stayed a couple of minutes to keep trying to get in. - You can’t request a particular suite any more, as they can’t guarantee that the suite will be operational (in case it’s in need of maintenance work). Fair enough. At around 2.30am I wanted to pack up and go home but we both realised that we were probably over the limit from having consumed the bottle of fizz from earlier, plus some! We said to the receptionist that it hadn’t been a great stay and she offered us breakfast but we declined. We wanted to get back home. We were due to go back to Le Monde in June, for a couple of days, but Jeff cancelled the booking and sent an email explaining that due to the noise levels in the hallway, someone trying the door, the bar and restaurant noise we wouldn’t be back. Especially as the new policy didn’t allow you to pick a particular suite. The receptionist with the lack lustre welcome was in fact the Manager and sent an email back - she made a point of mentioning we’d been given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco but missed the point that we’d not asked for it and we’d have been just as delighted to have been offered a glass of champagne, when we arrived - like in previous stays. Or that if we’d not had the chance of meeting James, him offering us a bottle, we’d never have got anything! The highlight of the stay was James - he’s definitely without a shadow of doubt a great ambassador for Le Monde - he’s passionate about the hotel and offered us second to none customer service. James gets 5 Stars but everything else on this visit gets 2 Stars. The rooms are great and our previous stays were wonderful but sadly, for us, this stay has put us off because our down time is precious because we just don’t get enough of it!

Just got back from a 3 night stay, we got a good price for it but I’d rather pay a bit more and stay elsewhere. I stayed in the Moscow room, looked pretty but the furniture and fixtures were definitely looking tired. Staff were friendly and helpful. One particular staff member wasn’t so much. Seemed a bit clueless about prices for Taxi’s to the airport. Could’ve called up for me to double check but i guess she didn’t want to go the extra mile. Had breakfast in the restaurant, scrambled eggs were tasty but everything else was burnt. Took forever for it to come out. Don’t think i’ll stay in a boutique hotel ever again.

Checked out today from 4 nights at Le Monde, having previously stayed there before last year. The hotel is ideally located in central Edinburgh's New Town, on George Street. This is great as you don't get the noise from the main drag of Princes Street, but you are located within walking distance of all main sights, and also to many transport connections if you don't feel like walking. There are plllllleanty of cafes, restaurants, and shops around, for meals. The hotel is located next to a club/bar, which can have occasional noise but I didn't find it an issue. The hotel itself is cozy, being a boutique hotel, with each room individually styled around a city. This time, I stayed in the Cario junior suite, having previously stayed in the New York Suite. The Cairo room is spacious, with an almost separate lounge and sleeping area. The bed is super comfortable, no issues sleeping, just issues getting out of such a comfy bed! The room had two flat screen TVs with digital channels. The Bathroom was also huge, with not only a shower, but a gigantic sunken bath, which also had another TV at the end of the bath. Seriously, the bath is enormous! The room is a little dark, but as I was getting over jet lag, so that didn't bother me at all. The furnishings are comfortable and on theme. There is a minibar too, with complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee, and biscuits. The staff at Le Monde are super lovely, and helpful as well. Always kind, and chatty. If you're looking for something a bit more fun than your regular chain hotel, then give Le Monde a visit. I'll be back in the future for sure.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Le Monde and It was a pleasant surprise to be upgraded to the Los Angeles suite. There was a lot of attention to detail and all the staff where very friendly and helpful, lending my wife an umbrella on one rainy day. I liked the little quirky touches like the lift buttons making a funny noise when pressed. Breakfast was also very good. One of my pet hates at many hotels, is having to stand in line to cook my own toast, no such thing here, lovely fresh cut toasted bread. Also the butter arrived ready to spread, no need to try and spread a lump of butter. I know these things sound small, but I have stayed in some expensive hotels that can't get this right. We didn't have an evening meal as we where busy exploring the city, but we would if we had more time. we also didn't visit the many bars available but if we visited again, we would book a booth for the evening. Some light sleepers may hear the night club below on a Friday night, how ever in our room the muffed noise didn't really bother us. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel, keep up the good work

We stay at Le Monde for 3 nights in March 2018 and I must say it was a fantastic weekend. The hotel itself was so lovely from amazing and relaxing rooms to extremely polite staff. We had a few meals in the restaurant and a few drinks at night in the different bars and we was delighted with the food and service. We enjoy every minute of our stay and we would recommend this hotel for its central location and amazing staff. Anyone looking for a well run hotel and restaurant with good food and great location this hotel is a must. Can’t wait to come back. 👍

Cozy bar, good selection of drinks, professional staff with only occasional lack of attention to detail. One of favourite ones around. Most definatelly will keep it on the list for late drink or two..

Just back from a lovely night in this gorgeous hotel, my mum and I stayed in the Sydney suite and my aunt and cousin stayed in the Tokyo one, we had been upgraded to these rooms and they were lovely, reception staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast this morning was delicious and very well presented and the waitress was lovely, Can’t wait to go back.

A long weekend away was a surprise birthday treat from my wife and her choice of the city and hotel could not have been better. On arrival we were given a couple of glasses of champagne as we checked in. The Le Monde is an 18 room boutique hotel with each room having its own theme,we had the 'Atlantis' which features an amazing aquarium built into the dividing wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. A large window at the foot of the bed has a great rooftop view. There was a well stocked mini bar and a sumptuous big bath. The room was great but was looking a bit tired and needing a touch of paint here and there. Breakfast was really good with top quality well cooked food.Downstairs a comfortable lounge leads into two glittery bars and stairs to a further bar area called the 'Dirty Martini ' There is also a nightclub open to the public adjoining the hotel with access for hotel guests directly from the hotel. All the staff including the house keeping were very friendly and attentive.

Such a great hotel. Everything from beginning to end was perfect - we stayed in the Beijing room and was amazing; clean, comfy and beautifully designed. This not just the rooms, but as a whole venue. Reception, bar and dining area all extremely well presented. A wonderful couple of nights.
