fantastic hotel with unique themed rooms. We stayed in the Los Angeles suite which was perfect, tasteful decor and loads of room, fantastic. Staff were super friendly without being intrusive. Overall a great place to stay and excellent location on the beautiful George Street. Definitely a place to re-book.

This hotel is superbly placed for a city break, close to all amenities. Easy check in although we did have to wait 5 mins for a member of staff to appear to assist us. We stayed in the Cairo room which was clean and spacious with a lovely big bath in the en suite. Everything you would need is in the room including mini bar which is not overpriced! Only one disappointing thing...the room is a little shabby and could do with a fresh lick of paint as paint is obviously flaking away in some parts of the room. The same needs to be pointed out in the restaurant...at breakfast (which was average) we were seated at a booth where one bar stool was ripped and torn. This should have been removed from the area as it lowers the standard and is not conducive of a city centre boutique hotel. Staff are to be commended for their hard work and friendly service. A chocolate platter was left in our room for my partners birthday...this was a nice touch :-))

Stayed here for one night as our evening reception was held in The Dirty Martini next door (part of Le Monde). Stayed in Paris. Room was v romantic with rose petals scattered from the door to the bed. Lovely chocolates. Nice view over George St & out to Firth of Forth. Luxurious but price was no more than standard hotels nearby - so for us much more convenient

Booked an overnight stay in Edinburgh 2 rooms at this hotel. Very helpful staff and the rooms are amazing very good size. Lovely bathrooms only down side the bathrobes are on the small size. Brilliant service from all the staff very happy and will book this hotel again

Went to this hotel for my birthday last week and was so pleasantly surprised! We got the Sydney Suite and it was amazing, room was spacious and bathroom had a sunken bath, big shower, television etc. Location of the hotel was fantastic right in between the Dome and Hard Rock Cafe. Have paid similar prices to stay in hotels that haven't been as nice!

I stay in a lot of hotels as I travel a lot and all I can say is that Le Monde stands out for all the right reasons. I was welcomed by very pleasant staff who were great through out my stay. Can’t find a better location as you are right in the heart of the city on one of the most beautiful streets. The room had all the luxuries of a Junior Suite - lovely towels, great shower and bath, even a TV in the bath! Slept very well, thought it might be noisy as I had read in some reviews, but it was actually very quiet. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Atlantis suite. The decor is very tasteful and there is an aquarium between the bedroom and the shower. The shower was the best of our trip.Everything was very clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. This is a great location within walking distance of Princes St and the Royal Mile. There are lots of great pubs and restaurants in the vicinity.I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night in a quiet room called Dublin. It's stylish with a rooftop view out of the window. Comfortable bed, linen and pillows. I called to request some more milk pots for making tea, and the receptionist brought fresh milk instead which was a nice touch. The highlight was dinner in the restaurant - excellent food (piping hot soup and good main course) served by a super friendly waiter - recommended.

We spent 7 nights here and found the hotel very charming and comfortable. The staff were always available and accommodating. We did not do the inclusive breakfast but chose to pop round to Hanover St to the Pret a Manger for something quick. The one morning we did eat at the hotel, the food was very nice. We were on the 3rd floor and well away from any noise from the club. We found the Moscow room very comfortable. Lights were a bit tricky at first but we figured it out. Would definitely stay here again as the airport tram drops off two blocks away and city bus stop is across the street. We really enjoyed our time here.

We stayed in the Los Angeles room - talk about the wow factor!! I'd visited the bar next door on a recent trip to suss it out after reading some ropey reviews based on the noise. The bar didn't seem like our scene and the music was terrible, so I was expecting the worst, but still hoping we'd be fine. And when we were told we'd be in the LA room, we couldn't wait to get in and check it out. It's total rock n roll. The bath is brilliant - you can spend forever in there. In fact, we nearly fell asleep in it as we didn't want to get out. The only downside - the shower curtains are from Primark... WTF? Looking up when in the bath, the labels on the shower curtains are unmissable and it did take the shine off the experience. They didn't even fit properly - but it just made us wonder what else was Primani. I mean, £200 a night, you do expect a bit more. Even if you furnish and accessorise from there - just cut the labels off and no one will know!! Another slight negative is that the leather settee and pouffe are past their best - we could see past that as the rest of the suite made up for it. We ordered breakfast to the room after a late night out. Ordered it for 9.45am (breakfast finishes at 10am and they couldn't do it too close to 10) and they were on time to the second! I've been visiting Edinburgh for years and this has been the best hotel in the city centre that I've stayed in. Bearing in mind, we didn't go to the restaurant or see that much of the place other than the room, it was faultless. Again, the other rooms may be prone to noise issues from next door but we didn't hear a thing. Well worth it for the bath alone!!
