a fine place to stay while visiting the scottish capital. accommoating staff. like most hotels in the area, though, in my estimate , a tad overpriced.

Apex Waterloo was centrally located and a short walk to all the major attractions in the city. We were very pleased with the location as we only spent about a day in Edinburgh and wanted to be close to the old city. Our room was clean; however, we did not have a great view. The staff was friendly.

This stay was purely for pleasure. Room was ready a few hours early which was great since we had just arrived from U.S.

Clean and comfortable. Would stay again. Pool and sauna very nice. Room service food great! Staff very friendly.

This is an interesting hotel, lot of history and good location for visiting Edinburgh but I arrived in a car, impossible to just drop off your bags , no-one to help you to greet you at the door , no-one there opening the door for you like I am used to in the States, I suppose its just the Scottish way (and believe me I was born in Scotland so I know) but its an awkward place to arrive by car. I had to go and park the car at the nearby garage then lug all my bags to the hotel myself. I took the elivator up to my floor and then discovered I had about another 10 steps to go down to get my bags to the room - very weird but what if I had been disabled or had difficulty carrying my bags-nuts! My room was very clean and nicely decorated large airy but very cold and took ages to warm up even though I put the thermostat at 26! I had dinner that night the food was very good and the staff were really very nice and friendly , especially as I was a solo traveller. In the morning there was a large selection of food for the continental breakfast and cooked breakfast but the scrambled eggs were watery and the coffee was disappointingly meh!I was wishing I'd just had coffee at the nearby coffee bar- Edinburgh has great coffee bars! All in all I personally wouldn't stay there again but only because of the inconvenience as I would likely be arriving by car most times on my way down from the Highlands with a lot of baggage to handle on my own. Otherwise its a nice hotel,in a super location for doingEdinburgh just don't order the scrambled eggs and make sure you get an extra blanket!

Great location and good value. The staff was friendly and the food was great.

After a long train ride from London, we were extremely happy with the room. The size was excellent and the view was beautiful.

Within walking distance of everything but not in the middle of all the noisy chaos of Edinburgh. Comfortable room and nice staff.

This hotel is gorgeous. It's close to the train station, but still in a safe area. When walking around cold and rainy Edinburgh all day, coming back to this hotel makes you feel like you're home, but better.

Clean, very upscale. Excellent amenities (fitness center, wet and dry sauna, pool, bar). Staff helpful. Did not eat breakfast there.

Great location. Updated room. Would stay here again.

The Apex Waterloo Place has a great location-- just steps from Waverly Station-- and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband and I went for the weekend, and enjoyed having a drink in the bar (with their own bespoke craft IPA) along with relaxing in the steam room and sauna between sightseeing.

We stayed here for two nights and our room was in basement with absolutely no view . Make sure to book the room that is not in basement . Otherwise beautiful hotel with centrally situated . Stuff are friendly .

This is one of my most memorable trips! The hotel was so cozy and peaceful. The room was so clean and such a nice place to return to after seeing Edinburgh during the day. Highly recommended!

Pretty fancy place! Nice walking distance to the castle and other sights

The people at the per was very accommodating and friendly. The service was excellent and the hotel was clean and comfortable

nice hotel. nice room. great location, easy to walk through and to the city, close to great restaurants, handy to public transport

Just returned from a trip to Scotland that ended in Edinburgh. This hotel was a fantastic place to wrap up the trip. Everything was clean, comfortable, and the staff was fantastic. I don't know how you could go wrong staying there.

Hotel is centrally located to old and new towns and close to the train station - an easy walk from the Airport connection bus. Arrived early from an overnight flight from the US and was able to check in early without a problem. Staff was very helpful! Very glad I decided to stay here!

Great location, beautiful large rooms with huge windows, super comfortable beds and modern baths. Nice lobby bar and restaurant and even a pool, which is NOT common in Europe. Would stay here again and again!
