Location was great. The experience itself was unexciting. Overall, too expensive for what it was. The room was small and looked down into the pool and at a wall with no view or sunlight. There wasn't even a luggage rack available in the room. The hallways looked like a laundromat with linens set up in common areas all morning for housekeeping services. Overall, disappointing.

Great location and a wonderful hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We arrived to find that we had been.given a much smaller room Than we had booked and they said they were all booked (I went online and there were superior rooms available!) Plus, I am handicapped and they knew that and they still gave me the very last room at the end of 2 hallways! Plus our room was dirty, dusty and the tile grout was horrible! The front desk clerk asked us to come back that night and we did. He said that he didn't know why it happened and said that there was nothing he could do that night, but they would let us know in the morning. I asked for my money back and he finally agreed to 1/2 back and free breakfast. The next day in the afternoon, the front desk called and wanted to move us closer to the elevator, but still not the room we had paid for! They did also provide us with a bottle of wine, but it was an afterthought

Courteous and responsive staff. Took care of our requests promptly. Great location.

Hotel was conveniently located about a 3 minute walk from the Edinburgh/Waverley train station. For the price, we got a larger room than I expected. Had a large sitting area. Our room had a mini-refrigerator, a safe (large enough for laptops), wifi, cable TV, and robes and slippers. Shower had a little bit of grunge on the floor, but otherwise we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special thanks to David at the front desk for getting us checked in VERY early (when we showed up tired and cranky) and to Linda the concierge for highlighting very helpful things to do in our limited time in Scotland. We did not take advantage of any amenities like spa. gym, bar or restaurant, so I have no feedback there. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again. I thought it was a significant value for the money (comparatively speaking).
