My recent stay at Abode was First Class in every respect. Great location with convenient/value parking 5 minutes away. The comfort of Fabulous Suite 123 was very impressive! Breakfast was excellent, well presented and superb choice. The enthusiasm, consideration and service of the staff made my stay very special. Well Done Mr McLaughlin and team, I would not stay anywhere else in your City!
The staff in this hotel are some of the best I've encountered anywhere. Extremely friendly and welcoming, and go out of their way to help you. We complained about the awful bed (so soft, like a trifle!) and the noisy A/C, and they kindly gave us an upgrade to a gorgeous suite which we didn't expect but were very grateful for. Not once were we made to feel difficult, our remarks were simply taken on board and dealt with quickly and professionally. Thanks so much for making our stay so lovely, I wish all hotel staff I encountered were like this!!
We came for a weekend away. My boyfriend booked the hotel having previously stayed at abode Manchester and really rated the hotel. The staff at abode Glasgow were really friendly and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. It was in a great location for visiting the city and the receptionist gave us loads of useful advice on where to go and places to eat during the weekend. Definitely worth a visit x
One night stay for business and I was upgraded to stay in a room they call an enviable room! It was really spacious with high ceilings, tasteful furnishings, a wide range of complementary snacks and felt very luxurious. The bed was very comfortable. I would be delighted to stay here again.
Fantastic location and such friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in an Enviable suite and it was beautiful, lovely high ceilings and very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. We also ate dinner and had breakfast, dinner was very good value and delicious, especially the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. The breakfast had a wide and varied selection, the breakfast juice was really tasty as was the homemade potatoe scone, we very much enjoyed our relaxing stay.
This hotel is amazing. The staff are really friendly and nice to customers and they are always offering to help. The room was spotless clean and a really good size. The breakfast was great, one of the best I have had and the room service was also very good and it came very quickly to my room after I ordered. Will definitely be back here again was worth every single penny I spent 😁
This was my first time at this hotel. The staff were Great to deal with. The room smelt a bit (hmmm), food was okay, although a bit too up market for me! as I like a fried breakfast with moisture! Lovely building though
The aBode Glasgow is a heritage building within walking distance to restaurants and major sights. There are appealing features in the ABode such as the metal cage elevator and banking hall details. The room is small but well laid out and tastefully decorated. The bed is very comfortable. The front desk staff, however, were indifferent and lacked professionalism. They are a guest's first contact with the hotel and are very important in setting tone and impression. Unfortunately, the first impression was disappointing. We asked for restaurant recommendations for dinner and the front desk staff just pointed to the bar next door in an abrupt manner. At checkout, the front desk were not courteous nor asked us if we enjoyed our stay at the aBode. We departed with a negative impression.
Great stay in a good location. Minutes walk from the shopping centre and easy walking to St Georges Square. Be sure to ask for a room with a firm mattress and be aware that front facing rooms do not have opening windows only a/c which did not go below 19 degrees. There is a gym opposite which appears to be open 24/6 and is accessible for non members. Breakfast is not cheap if you don't eat much but if you like a hearty breakfast then this is the place. There is a fantastic choice of cereals, juices, continental and traditional dishes. The hotel is clean and comfortable, staff friendly and professional.
Fantastic, helpful staff. Good central location. Room was very quiet but very small for an higher price room (comfortable rooms must be v small!) and very limited storage (few coat hangers). Would be fine for one night stay but not so good for longer. No fresh air at all and air conditioning too noisy for at night but, admittedly historic nature of building makes it difficult. Lift was great fun and no problem so long as gate closed; fascinating mechanism. Big gripe was the menu for evening meal..... very limited choice on prix fixe menu and fairly limited on al la carte. Very boring if spending more than one night - macaroni cheese gets boring more than one night in a week and many people are allergic to moules. Perhaps better to do B&B and eat out as plenty of eating places near by. Cocktail bar seemed not to be..... All in all, great place for one night but not so good for several nights and not the luxury feel that you get at the Canterbury Abode.
