Certainly nothing fancy. Stayed in a singe room at the first floor. No elevator and narrow stairs, but not a problem at all. Soft bed and quiet neighborhood, slept well. WIFI worked if still very slow at times. Breakfast is not included and not that great for a vegetarian, but they get an A for effort in trying to accommodate with a variety of food for such a small place. Went here for the Messe and it was certainly close, good and cheap enough for me to book again next time.
Really bad hotel, if you have the option to stay somewhere else, do it!!! No lift/elevator. They make up your bed But fresh towels is too much.... Trying to say something positive about this hotel, hmm not happening..
It is never easy to find accommodation in Frankfurt at the time of the big exhibitions, and this is very basic but inexpensive and a short stroll from the front gate of the Messe grounds. Those used to modern hipster hotels with big double beds will not find it to their taste but it is perfectly clean and decent, in a quiet neighbourhood, and I would certainly use it again for a night or two. No foreign channels on TV, and the curtain doesn't fit all the way across the window (shutters keep out the light), so needs an upgrade, but good buffet breakfast for €8 and free Wi-Fi. No elevator, there are 4 flights of stairs including one up to the reception, if this is an issue
I stayed at this hotel in early 2016 for two nights. While the rooms are reasonably clean and adequate for basic accommodation, I would not recommend this hotel for several reasons: - The staff was very unhelpful when I wanted to change my booking, bordering on unfriendliness, just basically refusing to consider helping me out. - I had room 105. This room is directly opposite the reception which means that during the day you can basically lie on your bed and hear the receptionist talking on the phone, fully understanding every word. During the night, you hear every guest entering the hotel, making it hard to sleep. There is also a vending machine in front of the room that has a very loud ventilation. - While the rooms are partly renovated, there are many corners which are unclean and they are run down in many aspects. - The breakfast room is a windowless room in the basement. On arriving, I was very rudely asked for my room number. Fellow travellers who did not speak German were basically shouted at in German, although they did not understand what was wanted from them. Breakfast was very basic.
Oh dear where to start well first the positives, I thought the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff were pleasant enough and the breakfast was okay although German seem to eat some weird stuff at breakfast. Now the negatives The building is 4 floors with no lift (d'oh!!) if that's not bad enough though my room was on the 5th floor! How is this possible ? Well it's easy if you turn the building attic into two additional rooms ( mine was 501). I'm 6 foot 2 and because of the sloping roof characteristic of most attics it was not possible for me to stand upright in some parts of the room particularly the ensuite were I pretty much had to crouch everywhere. Not surprisingly there was no shower as such just a hand held shower head connected to the bath. To use this you needed to crouch into the bath then try and shower on your knees. The water pressure and temperature regulation fluctuated between none and not very much. I'm not going to tell you how many times I banged my head during this stay but it was more than every other hotel room I have ever been in combined. My advice to anyone of a reasonable height who turn up to this place and is given a room starting with "5" is look elsewhere or go out and buy a helmet before you start the long, long journey up those narrow stairs
Good location free parking, it's calm and quiet there with easy access to city center. We stayed in the room 502 which is on top floor, it's a big and morden room well facilitied. The only disadvantage is wifi is not available in the room, the funny thing is once you step out of the room, there is! In all, it's at reasonable price and offers more than we expected.
I am having a hotel myself, and I know how important it is today to always give your best and to be ready to give that extra inch of service to make the stay of your guests comfortable. I had booked this place since it was just around the corner of my next day's business appointment. I had booked with breakfast and arrived in the evening from a long flight. First thing: the hotel was closed! Nobody at reception and no nightwatchman. There was a nice chinese couple that also arrived, which let me take a shower in their room. Finally I found a night bell and was given a key in a letterbox for a room on the 4th floor! There was no elevator and no one to help, so I had to carry my 30 kg suitcase up myself these 4 flights. When I came down in the morning shortly after 10 I was told that there was no breakfast. They also refused to refund my breakfast. The lady at the reception was very unimpressed by my announcement to write about my experience on Tripadvisor. I guess if you come as a tourist with light baggage and arrive BEFORE 9.00 and take breakfast SHARP before 10, then the place might be O.K. The rooms are very basic, but the bathrooms are freshly renovated. Personally: if I would run my own hotel with such an attitude, I could close after one month. We are very dependent on our guests reviews! So if this personal touch is important for you: DON'T STAY IN THIS PLACE!
the hotel is not bad, clean rooms, free wifi but no car park and the Russian old lady from the reception haven"t learned yet how to treat the customers, she was rude, and she didn"t know any information about a close by car park. the other reception ladies seem ok!
Room 306 Honestly, nothing was OK. Location was fine, but lots of hotels in this area, so we would definitely recommend searching another hotel. Negative points: -the staff who only spoke German (did not do any effort to help us in English) and was not friendly at all -the room which was old-fashioned, not at all like the pictures (!) and dirty (our baby was black on hands and knees from crawling) -booked a double bed and received 2 single beds -booked rooms with breakfast (+€16) but according to their system we didn't book breakfast, so we did not receive any breakfast. Even after showing our confirmation mail, they refused. We refused to pay a second time -no mattress in the babybed
This is a modest hotel and a reasonable price. The location is good. Close to Messe and within reasonable walking distance of the Hauptbahnhof and the centre. Strassenbahn and Ubahn are a five minute walk. The area itself is quiet. Avoid the nearby Thai restaurant (more bland indifferent Chinese than Thai). Yes, the staff are gripped in a cloud of Slavic gloom but they brighten if you can say hello and thank you in Russian. The room and bathroom were fine and breakfast was a reasonable spread. Value for money in a fairly pricey market.
