I went to Frankfurt for the weekend to see the Christmas markets in December. When we arrived at the hotel it was very upsetting - the outside looks awful. Thankfully once you get inside it is much better. The hotel is split into 2 buildings - we were across the road, which wasn't the main building so didn't have a reception, restaurant or café - those were all in the other building. The location was ok. About a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the hotel into the town centre - there is a taxi rank outside or they will call a taxi for you. The journey costs approximately 20euros. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. The café in the hotel is very nice - modern and has an ok menu. The staff in the café were great, the reception staff not so great - did not give much guidance or help when checking-in. Literally just checked us in, didn't ask if we knew the area and/or didn't advise of anything we could do! Hotel was ok - relatively clean. Would stay again, although not the best location!
Overnight stay with evening snacks & breakfast. Room was good. Pleasant restaurant with excellent food. Goulash soup was excellent. Pork burger & chips was also excellent. Breakfast was good with variety & typical of many German hotels. 1 negative point. High speed train ran nearby regularly through the night. I think every thirty minutes. Tip: keep the windows closed.
Really enjoyed our 2 nights here with our main purpose being the Christmas markets. So easy to get to the station and down into central Frankfurt. Room was lovely and comfy. Would definitely recommend
Good location, you get in the city quite fast from there. The hotel is close to the train station you just have to go through a small park and you're basically there. The rooms aire fairly standard though
Booked 3 rooms, for 2 nights stay. 1 booking was wrong, but front desk managed to find us a twin bed room. Thanks for this! If you're Platinum member, don't expect much from this hotel. No value or appreciation will be noticed.
We stay at Mercure hotels many times per year. This property did not live up to our expectations based on the norm for this chain. Rooms were dated, in need of updating with older, worn carpeting, etc. Even in the hallways there was broken molding, etc. It was also very difficult to shower without getting water everywhere. On the plus side, the parking garage was roomy and well lit, the location was good (20 minutes walk to the Messe, with a tram stop right out front if you prefer not to walk). Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold offerings to suit British, American and German tastes. Staff in the bar and at breakfast were wonderful. We had two minor "issues". We had booked a privelege room and were given a base room (very small and lacking the amenities we should have had). Being very busy we did not go down and ask to be moved---this is on us. However, at check out we were charged the higher price and even though I explained we did not have the privelege room we were being charged for, the person at the desk kept telling me I was wrong, first he said it WAS a better room and we just needed to have requested robes (the room was small and missing other things like a free mini bar, etc). Then he changed tactics and told me there is only one room price and we were not being charged an higher rate. In the end I gave up, paid and we emailed management. The email was answered very quickly and the issue resolved. It is a shame that we had to elevate this to get resolution though (but, I commend management for their quick repsonse at that point) The other was just an odd thing. There had been a muffin with jelly delivered to our room---as a loyalty gift we think. The plate was wrapped in cellophane---but the bowl with jelly inside had mold growing on it---needless to say that remained untouched on the dest throughout our 3 night stay.
For a two night stay, the privilege room was clearly overpriced at a bit more than 400 euro in total. Hotel and rooms looked quite outdated and lived, i expected more for a 4 star hotel especially since there is a wide variety of 4 stars around in frankfurt am main. Upon my arrival late at night, i found my privilege room to be on the other side of the crossing. Breakfast is also alternated between the two buildings; the one at the main building is ok, the other one reminds me of a cheap motel style of breakfast. My room had an old carpet smell, there was only one lamp post in the living area which is clearly not enough to have decent lighting if you decide to work in the evening. Minibar, although included in the price was very poor: two cola's, one 33cl beer and two fruit juices! My amenities were also not replenished after the first day, it took ages for the water in the shower to get to a decent warm temperature and water pressure was insufficient which obliged me to almost lean against the wall to be able to get under the water jet. The sides of the bath tub also functioned as water drain which caused the bathroom to flood, i had to put a towel in the corner to prevent the water from running to the bathroom floor. For such a size of a room, the bathroom is microscopic! The bed was good; well isolated with no outside noise and foreseen of blinds that keep out the light very well. For this level of price, i would not stay again at this hotel; unfortunately the 5 star sofitel was fully booked. No priority desk was attended, accor silver and higher members had to queue at another desk; staff generally gave the impression of not being intrested except at the bar.
The check-in is in one building and our room was on another building across the street and both with stairs to reach the lobby. Very inconvenient if you have bags. If you are a le club member they have priority desk at the lobby but the staff don't give priority for who is there, so you will have to stay in line with all guests, they also didn't give me the voucher for a drink, I had to ask for it, on the other hand they send me a chocolate in the room. The hotel is well located and you can walk to restaurants, supermarket, parks and train station. The room is ok with renovated bathroom. The fitness room is very small and only cardio equipment.
The place is clean and tidy and offers what you would expect from a hotel in this class: an overnight stay. I found the breakfast pricy for what it offers, but also here convenience trumps price. Great shower. Wifi is weak during peak hours.
Situated approximately 12 minutes drive/ train ride from Frankfurt centre, it is the ideal location. Staff are warm friendly and quick to assist. The rooms are comfortable, not overly big, but for resting/ relaxing its perfect. For smokers you can stand on the balcony for a puff, as all rooms are non-smoking. There is a buffet breakfast in the morning, and lunch / dinner option is from the restaurant or bar, simple, and tasty meal. For a bit more adventure, you can take a little stroll between 5-15 minutes to an array of restaurants/ pubs for a meal / drink.
