Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt

This hotel has clearly seen better days. It's old, rather grubby and the level of service reminded me of the famous disrespect for the customer associated with Mercedes Benz. They were slow, incompetent and, in the business event I was participating in, positively money-grabbing and unhelpful. Everything was too much trouble, even the smallest thing (I needed some photocopying paper) took an age and was put on the master bill at an extortionate rate. Several hotels in Frankfurt and Duesseldorf seem to think it's a sellers' market out there and they don't need to make any effort at all. Don't go there. They'll perhaps get the idea. Example: On my last day, I asked to book a taxi for my airport trip at 5.40pm. They told me there was no need as there were always taxis outside. There weren't. It took 5 minutes to speak to anyone in reception. She ordered a cab - 5-10 minutes, she said. 20 minutes later, it arrived, the traffic was (predictably) bad and I only just caught my flight. Never again!

Nice hotel with a couple of minor issues. We had a large corner room with a wrap-round balcony. Good to be able to open the balcony door to get some fresh air. Everything was clean and fresh including the bathroom. Great views from the balcony. Layout of the room was a wedge-shape, but plenty of room and closet space. Big flat screen TV on the desk facing the beds. Also, a civilised buffet breakfast with plenty of options served in the morning. Now for the issues: lousy water pressure from the shower. Some bathroom complimentary goodies, but yet another European hotel with no bar of soap, just those miserable liquid soap dispensers. Hate that. Next time we will take our own bar of soap. So, be warned. A minor inconvenience is making sure you get on the correct lift to take you to your floor. The lifts have a strange arrangement and you could end up getting off on the wrong floor and have to take the stairs. Not funny when you are carrying bags. We stayed there as the final night of an excellent Cosmos tour of Germany.

Arrived early and our room was ready we checked in and had a long rest after so long flying. Centrally located, bus at the door, easy ride into town. The Christmas markets were a highlight. The room was very comfortable, the beds were large and pillows great. Was a great sized room for twin share. The sports bar had a great menu and was very busy but you didn’t wait too long for your food. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff friendly and helpful. Overall a great hotel with great staff.

Was very pleased that we only had to book one room for our party of 4 - there was 2 double beds and the were able to put in a small extra bed. Good value for this - the room was comfortable and had great views of frankfurt. Service good, breakfast was ok. Relatively easy to get into the city centre by bus from stop across the road.

I stayed in the Leonardo Royal hotel in Frankfurt for a two-week duration on business. It is a beautiful, worm and welcoming hotel. The staff is very kind, professional and efficient, always smiling and looking for an opportunity to assist. The rooms are very convenient, comfortable and clean. They are stock with free water and cosmetics. Whatever else I required have sent up to me in a matter of minutes. I especially enjoyed the incredibly tasty and divers breakfast (with a little something for everyone – shakshuka, rise, wonton soup…). A real treat was the breakfast box for the early start days. All in a very good price. I highly recommend staying in the Leonardo Royal hotel in Frankfurt. Michal

nice staff at the reception who was very helpful to my colleague and very nice staff name “Gamai” at the restaurant who was outstanding . This was very cheerful for our stay. There is a supermarket 50 m. behind the hotel and bus stop in the front for easily going to the city center ( 3km.away ). The area around looks safe . The view from the rooms is nice :- city sky high / church .

The location is fair - it's not too far from the main city and one of the good things is that there is a bus stop right outside. The room itself was quite well-appointed although the shower was very small and the duvet was very small! The WiFi was not good and kept disconnecting and asking me to sign in again. The food was decent for breakfast and lunch and had pretty good options for me (vegetarian). All in all, a fairly standard experience.

The rooms were clear, beds were great, big, and comfortable. I was on the 16th floor and the view was wonderful, to the whole city. Airport is close but I did not have problem with sounds of the plane.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. However, the shower was broken and the heating adjustment on the shower wasn't very good. But overall it was a good place. The sports bar serves nice food! Close to the river.

Located away from the City hub. Rooms and amenities obsolete . Not value for money. Far from Airport and Messe and fair ground. Need to take taxi or bus. Metro station is also quite far . Location is ok
