Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt4.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is out of the centre away from the rush of the town . The rooms were very comfortable although the bathroom was slightly small. Excellent breakfast service. Late night bar. Good car parking (have to pay ). About15 min walk to centre of Frankfurt, buses run past hotel but not metro. Would be happy to return
Leonardo Royal Hotel is located in a quiet part of Frankfurt, on the other side of the Main River. The hotel was kind enough to allow me to check-in when I arrived early. The room has a bathtub but I'm not a big fan of bath tubs; unfortunately, the tub in my room was clogged so the water recedes very slowly. The hotel is a bit far from the city center but there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and with Frankfurt's efficient transport system, it's a non issue. Breakfast venue is a bit small, so if you're the type who enjoys leisurely breakfast, good luck with the crowd! Maybe it's possible to have one after the rush hour?
I did not pick this hotel; Lufthansa paid for the one night we stayed there because of a missed connection at the Frankfurt airport. However, I want to write that the Leonardo was immaculate and the rooms very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast that were provided with our voucher were very good and the WiFi worked perfectly. The most outstanding thing about this hotel is their staff. When we arrived at the Leonardo it was late in the evening and my wife and I were tired from waiting in line for three hours to get the vouchers from Lufthansa. Despite the long line of other guests with vouchers, the check-in was smooth and fast. Since our flight the next day did not leave until 5:00PM, I requested a late check-out time. The manager of the hotel very graciously allowed us to stay in our room until 2:00PM. I don't think you could ask for better service at a hotel than we received at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Frankfurt.
We stayed here for the last night of a Cosmos tour of Germany. It is a huge 25 floor tower block with 449 rooms. There is free wi-fi in the rooms and lifts to all floors but this operates on a split system. Lifts access floors O to 9 and 10 to 25 so be sure to take the right one or it will go past your floor. There was an internet point and printer in the lobby. It is south of the city centre which is about 2 miles away so for old legs it is a bus ride. There is a bus stop just outside so public transport should not be a problem. We did not see any eating places close by although the tour director pointed out an Italian place about 10 minutes away. Neither was there a supermarket for the self caterers although the road into town looked promising on both counts. We were on floor 10 in room 1008. It was a good size with twin beds, a desk & chair, an easy chair & table, a fridge, safe and tea & coffee making facilities. The balcony was a bonus giving a fine view over the city. A/C that worked was a big plus too after many of the previous hotels. The bathroom size was ok with an OTB shower and hairdryer. We were very happy with our accommodation which was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate with the usual, cereal, pastries, cold meats cheese and yoghurt etc supplemented by scrambled egg, bacon and HB eggs. It was basically the standard offering in the hotels we visited and although one or two had more in the way of hot food there was absolutely no cause for complaint. We had no issues at all with this hotel and would happily stay there again if visiting Frankfurt. The airport was only about 20 minutes away by taxi.
Great rate (join their Advantage Club to get 10% discount when you book direct on the hotel website), great rooms, amazing breakfast buffet for €12 pp if you book ahead, not right in city centre, but a short taxi ride for about €12 gets you there.
My first impression was that it would not be a very good Hotel but once I entered the room my perception changed . The rooms are so spacious. You get so good vibes on entering the room. The food is also very good. Bed are so big and comfortable. Pity I am staying only one night o my here .Reception counter was also well managed with cooperative staff .would love to recommend to my friends and family this hotel .
I enjoy the hotel, it is located in a quiet neighborhood near of the downtown. Public transportation stop in front of the hotel. The room was clean & people was very kind. The only thing I suggest to review is the menu for breakfast because was almost the same every day.
Pretty average hotel, nothing really outstanding. The room is quite large and have most of the facility. Quite good view from 19th floor. However, as I was a group customer, we are having a very poor quality breakfast buffet which was a separate place and very little choice of food.
A welcoming group of staff make this hotel a great place to stay. Clean, big rooms with ironing facilities, tea/coffee facilities, balcony to watch planes come and go. Only concern was the bed! Very low, squeaked every time you rolled over!!! Great staff in the bar. Out of town, so not good for tourists if wanting to wander city at night.
this is very old hotel but have big room with old furniture, actually this hotel is quite ok just for sleep and the rest is nothing special, i think the hotel management should change the passanger lift because all lift very old , very small and very very slow , we need to que 5 to 10 minutes just want to go to lobby
