El Paso Residence Inn by Marriott3.0 out of 5.0

This is a Residence Inn, but it is showing its age. I would have given 3.5 stars if it was available. Another downside is that they do not have a shuttle service to the airport although it is about 10 minutes from it. Nothing to write home about other than you are staying in an apartment instead of a typical hotel room.
This hotel is fabulous. We've stayed here in the past & loved it. NORMA at the front desk is SO nice & SO accommodating. Also the night front desk girl Isabel was very kind & helpful. Check-in was a breeze and our 2br suite was very comfortable & clean. The entire place; bathrooms, bedrooms-linens & LR were spotless. The beds are VERY comfortable. Plenty of outlets on both sides of the bed, great AC, Very good wi-fi reception! a big + .. Also a short 5 min walk to the Mall & a 2 minute walk to Walgreens & Taco Cabana.
Logging onto the Internet it allowed my room info to be input for the Premium Connection, but logged me out repeatedly after only two minutes each time. After 15 minutes on tech support call, they finally cleared the access port and the connection was marginal - although I missed all but two pitches of the critical ninth inning of my baseball game. Screen freezing due to no data connection. The same issue came up in the morning connecting to the internet with a second device. In addition, the drain was so slow in the shower, the water level topped my ankle bones by the end of my shower. Never again at this location - and I understand the Courtyard nearby is just as bad. By the way, I am a Lifetime Platinum member so criticism of my comments by management holds no water.
I recently rented a two bedroom suite with a living room and pull out couch. The staff was good, morning breakfast great, and location was perfect. I normally don't complain but this time I brought many family and friends for a big event in Texas. The stove handle was broken and put back on with no real attempt, the bathroom light flickered and then eventually went out. The other bathroom had a corner tile that had a potential blood or rust stain. The pullout bed did not have sheets on it and we were able to see the stains all over both sides of the pullout mattress. We escalated some complaints to the desk staff and didn't get much response. We aren't ones to continue the complaint but I like to be honest so others don't deal with this stuff. Take care and I would reconsider my stay.
Very roomy hotel, extended stay location. Breakfast is good, rooms are packed with everything for one night or if you stay a month! Pool, basketball court for the kids and Mexican food, bank and Walgreens within walking distance! THE BED IS TO DIE FOR! Best thing was the friendly staff! From the reservation, to the check in... my room wasn't ready early as I requested so I asked for a late checkout and it was granted! That's how you treat a customer!
The front desk people were great, the room was big and bed was comfy. They also had free beer and appetizers in the evening, which was a nice touch. The location is also very good, and easy access off the freeway.
I'm staying at this hotel for two weeks with my group. Tonight they advertised a happy hour with drinks and food from 6:00 p.m. through 7:30 p.m.. At 6:15 p.m., the desk agent came out and changed the times to 7:00 p.m. though 8:00 p.m.. I made plans around this event, and could not attend due to the change. Next time I'll stay somewhere else. Maybe a newer, quiet hotel with better customer care.
Not too bad for the price - Lobby and dinner/breakfast area is nice. Great coffee. Gym is horrible - 3 pieces of equipment. They should not be able to advertise this hotel has a gym. Pool looked nice, but didn't use. Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean.
Darby at the front desk was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of even though we arrived late, had no reservation and we were exhausted from driving all day! Our room was large, beautifully furnished, had one of the most comfortable mattresses EVER! We had breakfast the next morning and it was delicious even though it was over-priced. The wonderful gentleman who prepared our food was so nice and accommodating. Can't say enough good things about this place!
If you're in town for a long stay, this is an ideal place as you have a kitchen in your hotel suite/room, living room, separate bedroom, they offer a warm breakfast every morning and dinner three nights out of the week. If your room is not clean to your standards, tell the front desk, they will fix it! This place is good at ensuring your as comfortable as possible! Location is ideal to many restaurants, not far from the theater/museum district and the scenic drive. I will be back on my many future trips to El Paso. Glad to be back!!!!! My go-to hotel when in El Paso!
