It is in a unique location and I felt safe. A little train noise through the night, but not unbearable. The room was provided with a sound machine and ear plugs (we didn't us). Breakfast was OK, nothing special. The coffee was not strong enough for me. We had a T.V., but apparently was having issues and not working. Good thing we had a very busy day and it was only one night, so it was not a big deal for us.

I came to visit because of the Virtual Rail Cam. I was not disappointed. Many trains...!!!! The hotel was just wonderful. The only thing that would have been better if the construction outside had not been going on. Nothing we could do about that , but it would have opened up more possibilities to walk around and also for dinning close by....maybe next trip...???

The building was neat. And the flowers were beautiful. Disappointed with the booking was not correct. Was supposed to get a king bed with a queen sofa bed. The manager fix this but also gave us a second room. What we did not realize is that we could have stayed in one room and should have received the refund. would have preferred the refund and stayed in the one room. We did not need both rooms. So we paid way too much for the three night stay that we stayed. Breakfast would have been better if the hot breakfast would have been served the whole time. Also when booking this through Orbitz we had put in nauvoo and did not realise that this was in fort Madison until we were almost to the hotel. It would have canceled this stay if not for the non cancellation fee because then we would have paid twice as much. Also the cancellation was dated a week before we'd ever booked the room. Therefore there was no way we could have ever cancelled it. Just very unhappy with the whole stay.
Beautiful place to stay. View of the Mississippi river, quiet little town other than the train. Great service, we would fit sure come stay again.
Our short stay was comfortable & peaceful. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It was nice having a quality restaurant attached. This was my second stay and I'll return again.
Hotel sits along side very busy railroad tracks, blowing their whistles all night long! Restaurant adjoining hotel is very good. Reserved a room for King bed only got a double, will net go back!
The room was small but cozy. Bed was comfy. The only downside i could see was the trains running nearby, but I'm a light sleeper.

We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your stay. Sometimes when booking with an online service rather than the property itself, there maybe some miscommunication. With this matter, your reservation put your group of 4 into a King bed room with a spa tub and fireplace. I noticed that in the morning while assigning codes to the doors. I rearranged rooms with the other guests during high travel season, to accommodate the needs of your group. You ended up in the King bed room with queen sleeper sofa that you originally booked. After arrival, you thought that it still wasn't adequate for the number of your guests so I offered another room next to it for no charge. We also put a refrigerator in a room to help with your 3 day stay, again at no charge. During this time, you did not request a refund or that you were unhappy with your stay during our many talks.
