I stayed here for 5 nights for business. Unfortunately the first night the air conditioning had an issue - so the next I asked for the AC Unit to be fixed. When I came in that night the manager said they would give me a new room and a suite! The suite was very nice the manager stepped up and took care of me. I recommend this Extended Stay in Romulus with enthusiasm - exceptional room, exceptional staff.
A very clean and exceptional palce to stay, and very friendly staff, who cares about our needs. The laundry room clean and accessible. Plenty of parking, quiet atmosphere, there several restaurants in the immediate area.
Had diffulty arranging a stay/ fly and park combo online the day before so I just booked room. Kenya, the day manager, had left a free parking voucher for me at the front desk with well wishes on my travels. What a pleasant surprise ! Thank you so much Kenya! Room was clean and quiet.
We really enjoy our stay here, the staff is very professional and friendly. All requests we have made as been met with high efficiency and efforts. I highly recommend this facility. We look forward to staying here in the future.
What looked like puke behind entry door..hair in tub..room was not clean💯 I was supposed to get 20 0/0 off but didn't..customer service bad..called to get more towels and pillows I was told if they have them I would have to pick them up at the front desk..
Room was clean staff was very friendly and helpful. The rate was excellent, really affordable when compared to other hotels in the immediate area. Rooms have lots of space and two desk for the business traveler that needs a place for laptop and printer.
When I first arrived in Detroit, I stayed at two other hotels. When I realized that I would be staying longer, I knew exactly where I would be going, the Extended Stay America. I stayed at other ESA hotels before and liked them very much. The Extended Stay America Detroit - Metro Airport, did not disappoint. I stayed more than three months. The front desk staff: Kenya, Ashley, and Maria were great. The night staff was warm and welcoming also. The feel of the hotel is similar to a home away from home. The rooms are very homey, and the kitchenette is very functional. I love the size of the full-size fridge. If you anticipate using your kitchen, be sure to ask for your kitchen set-up at the desk before you go to your room. It will include your plates, utensils, etc.. The rooms are kept clean and orderly. A word of caution: this is a "Nonsmoking" hotel, and hefty fines are strickly enforced if you are caught. The cable and internet service is robust and very capable. Aesthetically, the room has a "feels good to be home" feel to it, and with the industrial size "Fabreeze" sprayer the maids use, it is sure to smell great after they leave. They are also children and pet-friendly. There is a coin laundry and vending machines on the first floor. A light breakfast bar in the morning includes oatmeal, muffins, coffee, etc. for the road. The rooms are reasonably priced in comparison to the surrounding hotels. The only slight issue I had was the maid staff starts early and can be a little noisy sometimes. They're also very quick, so you won't have to endure it long. Last but not least, the drivers of the shuttle van were exceptional and always courteous. All in all, I like the ESA Detroit Metro, and you will not be disappointed.
I got off my plane in Detroit after a delayed flight and called the property to pick me up. The booking info said they had 24 hour airport pick up. I called and was told no pick up, its a weekend, I asked how do I get to the hotel and was told to figure it out. Stay away.
The rate for my one night stay was acceptable, but the quality, service and environment fell far short of my expectations. While Jessica at the front desk said the right things with her mouth, her body language and lack of service said all the rest. She complained about guests, not having clean rooms, being busy, and she sat at the desk, where she ran what felt like a hotel production assembly line. The door to the laundry room behind the desk was open and contributed to feeling less like a hotel and more like a factory. The presentation from the exterior, lobby and hallway corridors was satisfactory, but the beds were hard, the appliances were loud, out of date, and dirty. In fact, in the entire room I found notable traces of hair, dust and general uncleanliness, adding again to the feeling of being warehoused for profit rather than treated as a welcome guest. One other major detractor is the fact an airport shuttle is only available on weekdays. That disclaimer is poorly advertised. During my checkin process, I heard at least four their phone calls asking for a shuttle, which is noticeably absent for a hotel sitting at the mouth of the airport property where airport hotels and their corresponding shuttles are ubiquitous. I stay at other area hotels when I'm in town for less money, and I get more for my money. Better quality and service is easy to find elsewhere, at many other properties less than a half mile from this one, and they all happened to be fully booked. Also, they all have airport shuttles. I won't ever return to this property.
Let me just say - My flight arrived at 11:45 PM - The shuttle van was called but they never did come get me...Another shuttle van saw me standing outside for too long and asked me where was I going - and he was kind enough to take me....Got to the hotel and they lady at the front desk was sweet (but sweet lady at the front desk) don't count...stayed on the 3rd floor...the smell was moldy - musty, the carpet was tearing up...The hotel room - was out dated...The bed was made up -but the covers (you could tell had never been cleaned) SMH - The furniture looked like someone had chewed on it...I won't even talk about the bathroom... the flooring was coming up - Lord have mercy......Terrible terrible just terrible....I was so exhausted from my flight - I didn't sleep well at all...because of the moldy musty smell. Next morning ...Got my bag and checked out - and walked next door to the Marriott and checked into their property.....
