We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times are really love it! About the only thing is the free continental breakfast could be a little bit better. They have biscuits and gravy but the first morning someone watered down the gravy a little too much. The next morning it was fine. And they have waffles, bagels, toast, cereal etc. I would love to see sausage and eggs added to the breakfast. Otherwise we had an excellent stay there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others! Thanks!

We love the Stoney Creek Hotels but this one was not up to par like other locations. The beds are very uncomfortable and the night stand drawer had someone's belongings in it. The housekeepers obviously don't check the drawers. We spent one night and the next morning we found a cockroach in the bathroom. This hotel was a disappointment. We also had trouble finding a place to park.

We stayed 2 different nights. We enjoyed our stay. Sure some may say the lodge decor is outdated, but it was very clean and homey feeling. My husband enjoyed the manly outdoor decor and that was what my goal. Good water pressure and our room was very large. Beds slept great. We would stay again. Thanks.

The hotel was quiet and relaxing. We loved the looks of the rooms and lounge areas. We enjoyed the pool area inside and out! Easy hotel to locate. Would defiantly stay again!

Great stay at Stoney Creek! When we first checked in we had a room on the bottom floor and it smelled very musty. I went back to desk and asked for different room on top floor and we were given a corner room with great light and very very clean. I immediately went back to desk and thanked them for the great room and then told them it was our anniversary and I appreciated the change. Kuddos to the front desk, wish I had gotten her name, but she made our stay so much better.

We enjoyed EVERYTHING about this hotel! Highly recommended! It's the best hotel in Des Moines! Will probably stay here every time we visit DSM from now on!

The hotel is beautiful. Bed was so comfy and the rooms are so nice. Highly recommended.

We found this hotel on the way back from Omaha zoo and loved it. It was away from traffic and a nice place to stay for the night.

Cute country decor. Friendly staff. Good size rooms. Decent bar. Too bad it's in Des Moines.

Must of hit a bad weekend....no one at front desk on 3 different visits including check in...had to look for personnel. and this was on a friday weekend evening at 8:00 pm. No greeting. by..all 3 staffers that I dealt with ...all seemed to give the impression that they would have liked to be somewhere else. Never addressed us by name. They should send them to visit a Hilton or hampton to learn some people skills. Other then that...the room ands atmosphere were great...Great Breakfast and very quiet. I will give'em another chance as possibly just a bad weekend for ALL personnel.

We up graded to a cottage.....because we had a couple extra people come with us. We had an excellent breakfast, freshly cooked. The kids wanted to stay an extra night, mainly because of the nice pool! Well laid out and the woodies feel was excellent for a get away! Had a great time and will do it again!

Great for our family. It was very clean and we will stay again.

It's a very comfortable hotel. Loved the cottage feel of the woodsy decor. The staff was extremely pleasant. I was checked in within 5 minutes of entering the hotel. We definitely will stay there again.

Had a great room all the staff was great to deal with

Pool is indoor with option to swim to the outside pool. Room was comfortable and clean.

We stayed in a deluxe king room. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The best part about this hotel is the indoor/outdoor pool. It was a snowy December day and to swim in a steamy heated pool in the snow was beautiful. This is a lovely hotel.

We were in town for the GoodGuys Heartland Car Show at the State Fairgrounds. Many of the motels had previously been booked up with the many activities in Des Moines over the 4th of July weekend. We ended up at Stoney Creek Inn and Conference Center. We arrived earlier than the normal 3:00PM check-in time and after being greeted by the friendly desk staff our room was ready and waiting. It had been in the upper 90's the day before and nearly as warm the day of our check-in, but the room was nice and cool. The room was clean and well furnished. Bathroom was arranged nicely and well stocked with clean towels. All the necessities were available. Although the motel was probably full or nearly so, the rooms were quiet and had a nice TV with many channels. We also noticed the outdoor pool was very busy. We were unable to check out breakfast, but believe it was probably nice and in a very comfortable room by the front desk. The "woodland" theme was carried out both indoors and out. The grounds, like the remainder of motel, looked well groomed and taken care of. The motel is close, close enough to walk, to entertainment and restaurants. The motel is also right on Interstate for quick access to the remainder of the town and surrounding areas. We will put it on our list of good places to stay in Des Moines.

went car shopping and visited family

For the price of the room, and to offer a stuffed animal seemed a bit of a stretch to make a buck ($20 in this case).
