Staff was nice ,room dirty ,heat didn't work well, smelled funny, bed not comfortable.only stayed one night, went and stayed some where else for rest of my stay in town
It's good convenient and nice hotel. The stuff are nice but the problem is the manager; she always angery.
Walked in the place line out the door only one worker. Get the keys to the room open up the door and it smelled like fish I mean it smelled so bad on top of that the room was still dirty bed wasn't made sheets dirty. Just nasty
The hotel was about 15miles from the airport, so the name is very inappropriate. The room was very cold, especially the bath. Even after hours it did not get significantly warmer. We got 4 more blankets, and thus survived. The staff told us there are some rooms that have this broken AC, but why do they sell then?? They charge an extra fee that does not appear on the bill at chrckin. If it was not so late in the evening we would have change the hotel but with children it was not possible. The breakfast was OK.
Do not bring your family here. Very shabby. Check in took a while. Location seems shady. Feels like you're staying in a nice homeless shelter.
Hotel meet my needs. It was clean and quiet. The staff was helpful. I had stayed there before and had a mini refrigerator in my room. This time I did not get a refrigerator which I was counting on since I brought some chicken. Stay was fine. Had to leave early in the morning for a flight so missed the breakfast.
Really bad, nothing good on this hotel, every thing baaad
It was a ok stay. Nice nice nice and cool and the other 30 % on the way to get the best of luck with your own home and Garden Inn at the same time as a result of the above.
Beware; there is no free airport shuttle! It costs you an extra 30 bucks. Also, it doesn't pick you up unless you call them from a US number (they wouldn't pick up our European numbers nor the payphone number at the airport). We ended up freezing on the curb for 2 hours and taking a taxi there. The room is as described in other reviews: dirty carpet, dirty blanket, smelly, loud heater. Unfriendly and overworked staff. All in all, better go into town and book a private room in one of the hostels.
When we walked in the manager (Sunny) did not greet us to even look at us. He was training a lady at the front desk. She was at least friendly. The whole time she was trying to check us in, he was hovering over her, criticizing the way she was doing things and just plain being rude to her. Again, he never said one word to us or even acknowledged us. It was very uncomfortable. The room was ok. Nothing special, but for the price, ok.
This is the worst hotel ever. The staff is not friendly and the rooms looks very old and dirty . The smells is really bad . When my family and my newborns baby took the shuttle to the airport , I really thought that we could die . The driver was driving like crazy at 90 MHz and we had an accident , the police came and the driver was in the influence of alcohol and drugs . God saved us !!!
The staff was not friendly. When we entered the room the lights were not working, I realized everything was unplugged: lights, tv, alarm clock, etc. The water faucet in the tub was damaged, only hot water coming out, it took me about 15 minutes adjusting the faucet to make it work with cold water also. The door wasn't locking right, we needed to slam the door very hard several times to make it lock. The continental breakfast was fine. There was a customer screaming at the check out the whole time I had breakfast, I think she was being charged a penalty for something. She kept saying she didn't do anything wrong, the employee was threatening with calling the police.
The hotel lobby is a disaster, the staff was very unpleasant and the room was disgusting. if I had not checked in so late, I would have left to find another hotel but it was nearly 10p. I would not recommend staying at this HoJo.
I wasn't expecting much from this place since it was so cheap, but this place is dingy and left me wanting a shower. Stayed two nights here and woke up every other hour. The first night I heard the police knock at the door to a neighboring room. I couldn't hear much from the occupant other than that it was a female voice. Then the police left apologizing for the disturbance; so I don't think she was in trouble, but it was an annoying disturbance to me at 1 a.m. The TV was straight out of the early 90s, the bathroom needed some new fixtures, and the toilet ran on and off all night. The free "breakfast" was coffee, juices, milk, cereal, plain bagels, and powdered donuts and other honey bun type pastries. On an up note, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful...even though they did deactivate my room key on my second day. And they recommended a pizza place that delivers to the rooms and gives a 15% discount to occupants. Other than that, I'm hoping I won't ever have to stay here again.
cheap but a bit smelly. but overall satisfied with the hotel.
The sink had a leak and the room key didn't work on certain doors entering the building.
Nice Rates. Good accomodation facilities at a very affordable price.
Well where should I begin? I have to travel a lot and I am a student so the budget is usually tight. That being said I am used to staying in run down places but this one takes the cake! When I read the reviews it said that the place was awful but the friendly staff really make it worth it. Maybe the person who wrote that review went in 2002 because I've never dealt with such rude employees. No one new what they were doing. I had an issue with my check in so I called the website head office and the representativs had to argue with the employee at the front desk. When I got the phone back from the lady at the front desk even the representative asked if I still want to stay there. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and stayed for the night. You could tell that this place hasn't been cleaned since the 90s. As I read in another review the hallways really do like a scene from a horror movie. There was no mini fridge in the room. I had went out for dinner and brought the food home and realized that I couldn't refrigerate it. I went downstairs to ask if it was just my room that didn't have one because the website said it was included and the employee looked at me like I was a moron. Most of the employees looked like they were on the hills have eyes. Besides the hotel itself the area isn't the greatest either. I had a car and I was in and out of the city so I didn't mind but if your going to have to take a cab some where your out of luck. This place is in the middle of no where and your going to end up spending 50 bucks to take a cab anywhere. All in all this was probably the worst motel experience. I would never go back there and highly urge you to spend a few extra bucks and stay some where else. Come to think of it if the head office allows this place to still be open I would never stay at this chain ever again either.
Was just in town to party with my brother on his bday and visit friends. Nothin bad nor special about this place. Good location for getting around via highway and tollway and a comfortable bed.
Where should I start? When I first arrived twenty minutes before check in I was rudely told I was going to have to pay a $20 fee. Then the once I went up to my room the hallway and room smelled like an ashtray ( even though I asked for nonsmoking ). I asked o be moved and was told that i could move because the room was entered into the system. I could not believe it. It seemed to me that the hotel was VERY empty. But I let it go. The room didn't have a tv remote that worked or an iron. And when I asked for both the woman at the desk seemed to be bothered by the fact that I was asking for these basic amenities. I really enjoyed Chicago. Just didn't enjoy my experience at this hotel. Next time I will pay more and stay somewhere else.
