Holiday Inn Chicago-Oakbrook

Very convenient to lots of Oakbrook entertainment things...mall, restaurants, etc. Close to interstate. Some aspects of the hotel are a little outdated and could use some updates, but overall, it's a nice hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast arrangement. Would stay again.

Stood a night for a holiday party. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Great location with Bar Louie in the hotel you can't go wrong.

There was a problem with the pool ladder. The steps were loose. They rocked back and forth. As I was walking down the steps into the pool I fell down on them. The next day I had huge bruises down one leg and many bruises on the other. I did report it to the front desk. The parking was hard to find a spot especially at night. Will not return. Too bad looking for a hotel to stay at because I will be visiting that area often.

The hotel is in a great location. Close to the mall and restaurants. Very comfortable bed.

My son and I were going to the Chicago Open Air music festival at the Toyota Center and I waited until the last minute to try to book a room, so I wasn't optimistic about my chances of finding a reasonably priced room that would fulfill our needs. I found this gem once I expanded my search area and we were very pleasantly surprised. I came in about noon, expecting to have to wait until after the first evening's show to get in my room, but a young lady (Yesenia I think her name was) got me in immediately with no hassles. I had read in other reviews the rooms were dated or had issues with a/c. I found nothing at all wrong with our room. The a/c kept it perfect for us and we prefer things quite cold. The only issue we had was probably just a matter of bad timing. I requested on my reservation a roll off bed, as my son and I are both restless sleepers. I mentioned it to Yesenia when I checked in and she tried to get me one, but was told they were all in use. On a side but related note, my son said the chair was perfectly comfortable, and he slept there both nights. The staff got us extra blankets so he was able to make himself a nice little sleeping arrangement. I asked for more regular coffee packets and got them almost immediately and the coffee maker worked very well, as did the microwave and refrigerator and they were all as clean as new. Overall we loved our stay and will keep this place in mind any time we have to visit the Chicago area.

Room heater came on and off on 3 minute intervals, while neither heating or cooling the room sufficiently. Linens were not fully supplied. We waited from Saturday when we arrived until Sunday at 5 PM to get complete towel set, and never got room cleaned on either Saturday or Sunday. Restaurant was slow, and very expensive, poor quality food. Pool was either too cool, or there were no towels. Parking insufficient, had to park in nearby shopping mall on both Saturday and Sunday. Worst part is that I told the front desk on numerous occasions with their assurances that issues would be remedied. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel, with the same conditions for the most part. We won't make that mistake again.

Just kinda old, dingy. Bed was super comfortable though. Was in a great safe location with lots of shopping and food, but clientele wasn't all that well. breakfast buffet was great, and hotel staff seemed good. I'd go back probably if it was on my own dime and I was in a pinch, but next time I'm making work pay for a better hotel.

Old rooms, noisy, too many steps into hotel, sketchy drifters around hotel, doors between rooms were terrible, room door just as bad, would not ever stay again.

We needed a room while visiting family, this room was in proximity to everything we needed. I was very pleased with the accomdatiobs there were no frills but comfy and free parking which was a plus.

Nice Place, well located and at the good price. Only small problem is the Parking that is not reserved for the Hotel guest but open to public.

The hotel was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great experience overall.

I booked this trip last minute. I was surprised to find the staff to be pleasant during my stay. The hotel is located near plenty of places to eat and shop.

I chose the hotel as a rest stop while driving home from a business trip. It's location was perfect for me because it was not too far way from the highway. An issue I did have was finding a parking spot for the hotel. I checked in around 8pm on a Friday night and many the spaces were occupied by guests of the downstairs restaurant. I had to drive around for about 15-20 minutes waiting for a spot. The room itself was spacious and clean. I did have a non-smoking room and had no issues with that, but like a few reviewers have pointed out, the hallway outside the rooms did smell of smoke. No issues otherwise. The breakfast the following morning was buffet style, which came with the room I reserved. There is an option to purchase other breakfast options.

I needed to be at my company's Oak Brook office for a week. The office is directly across the street from the Oak Brook Center which is great. The Holiday Inn was only a 5 minute drive away so the location is very convenient. The hotel is nothing special. The rooms are clean and the staff very friendly. The negatives are as follows: 1. Walls are thin. I could hear someone urinating in another room. 2. My bed was not comfortable. It was too soft and warped - needed to be replaced, or at least flipped/rotated. 3. The toilet would consistently start & stop running. I ended up just turning the water off on the toilet. I was too busy with work to complain about the room and I just didn't want to take the time to move rooms after unpacking so I just dealt with it.

easy access to downtown, shopping, dinner & any night life clubs or bars

everything was very nice nice location nice bar atmosphere at Bar Louie definitely would stay again

Bed was uncomfortable, messed a few items, rude janitors, dark spots on bed that looked like bed bugs.

Easy to get to and friendly staff. Comfortable room. Will return again when in town.

The location was perfect and the decor is nice. It was clean and nicely decorated....BUT---the elevators are SLOW, stop at almost every floor whether someone is there or not. The beds are hard and lumpy. My husband found a long black hair in the bed, and I found one in a folded bath towel...from the laundry lady, I am sure. There is only a pedestal sink in the bathroom, which looks nice but there is no where to put anything! The lounge downstairs is nice...but we had to listen to drunks in the hallway half the night. And something (we think the elevator) was kicking off and on all night, loudly! The indoor pool was cold! Oh yeah, and the bathroom sink didn't drain....on a good note, the shower was great!

Front desk staff (Angelia) and GM were top shelf - every request handles expertly. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars was that you could hear people talking in the next room.
