Extended Stay America Chicago - Midway

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Sticky floor, gross fluorescent lights, bedding circa 1980. Ineffective, loud air conditioning. Loud neighbors rolling in at 4:30am. No Cubs playoff game available. No amenities. No daily room straightening. Clean towels only if traded in for dirty ones. As a woman traveling alone it was the first time I can remember being uncomfortable in the Lobby, hallways, near other guests or waiting for my cab outside. Thankfully I spent very little time actually in the double locked from the inside room

Coffee was not ready in the morning - two empty pots - it was brewing

the hotel is near Midway Airport. The refrigerator was not working, they gave us a bag of ice, the last one they had, the milk spoiled and we had no milk in the morning for the 30 month old twins. I choose the extended stay because of the kitchen and the babies.

this was for business, it was worth the money. I am extending my stay another two days for business.

We needed a safe place to stay that was near a funeral home we were using for a loved one. We live about 2 hours from the funeral home and didn't want to drive back and forth between the visitation (which ended at 9 PM) and the funeral (which began the next morning at 9:30 AM) We checked in around 10 PM and checked out around 8:30 AM. We were there about ten and one half hours for $260.00. That is too much money for a 2 star hotel in the middle of a ghetto.

The hotel personnel was great. Hotel needs to update.

normal experience cannot say much since i only stayed one night and didn't spend anytime there other than sleep

This hotel I booked through Orbitz (Extended Stay America) was a dump! Firstly my preferences were a non-smoking room, and they gave me a smoking room! When I asked for a non-smoking room, they said they were booked because 3rd parties like Orbitz usually overbook them. The pillow cases and bed linens were obviously used and just smoothed out - yuck! It has a horrible experience. There were no toiletries available in the room, and did not come with maid cleanup service. I was just trying out what an Extended Stay America would be like and will never go back to it. Too bad Orbitz was somehow associated with this bad experience, which may cause me not to use them again

the room was clean...nothing spectacular. Basic room with refrig. My flight was delayed so i only was there 5 hours...long enough to sleep quickly before leaving to do my business. checked out at 9;00am. Front desk help was wonderful, especially night young man....went out of his way to give me assistance. May God bless him.

The employees at the hotel were nice and helpful, but this is the only hotel I know that don't come in your room to make your bed and exchange towels during your duration of your visit.

What I did like is that when I needed another night they where fine with it and that they even offered to give me towels right there. I did ask for the room to be cleaned, they said that only happens if you staying more than 4 day I did not like that cause I did have refuse in the room that needed to be picked up so I walked it outside.

The ESA was a no frills hotel. Just basics needs. It was ok for one night, but I won't go back. Service desk and not very friendly. Noone there when we check-out at 6:45, so we left key on desk. No wake-up calls. My husband is hard of hearing couldn't hear clock go off. If he was alone????? Not too far from Midway. Not even any plastics cups for drinking water in bathroom. Toliet paper holder broken.

The staff was very nice, friendly and will to assist at all cost at check-in. My room on the other hand had no lights on one side of it and it was very COLD in my room. I guess the clean services figures if they turn the AC on the lowest temp it would make the room comfortable for the guest, no wrong answer. The front desk attendant fixed my lights by flicking the breakers in teh fuse box, not a good sight for the guest. In the future, the hotel manager check every rooms before releasing them to visitors. Making sure the lights are working properly in the rooms along with the temp. inside the room. There are warm and cold blooded people in society and no one wants to wait 30 mins before they can take a shower to start there day.
