1. Cleanliness: 8
It wasn’t dirty, but wasn’t life changingly clean. Overall Fine
2. Sound between units or Neighbors: 2
I could hear every footstep, every door slam. I could hear people in the hallways as if they were in the room next to me. Thank god I had ear plugs. Terrible
3. Sound from outside: 2
TERRIBLE, its located LITERALLY next to a fire hall in one of the busiest cities in north America. Just as bad if not worse than the sounds inside. I don’t even know if there would have been a difference if my window was open or closed. Single pane glass did not help.
4. Amenities in unit: 2
It has NO closet. No dresser. Literally NO WHERE to put your clothes. The Closet that used to be there is now full of a washer and dryer. So that’s great. You can wash you your clothes, but one they are washed, you have no where to unpack them. Its hard to make a place feel like home if you have to literally live out of the suitcase.
The dinning table is so small and I have had pizzas that are larger. Plus the table spins around like a merry-go-round. Hard to have a drink on there without it flying off.
There is PLENTY of room to have a dresser or stand-up closet. Just none will be found. Get ready to make your suitcase your home.
The TV is super small. And its hung up 6 feet off the floor. Get ready to have a kink in your neck if you want to watch anything.
5. Location: 8
In regards to the city access and neighborhood its great. An Uber will cost around $10 -30 depending on demand at the time to get downtown.
6. Customer service of host or Staff: 7
Calling to speak to someone was easy enough.
7. Internet connection and or speed: 8
Internet speed was good and to get a hold of someone for the password was easy
8. Final Thoughts: 5
If you are a deep sleeper or have earplugs you can survive. But for simple basic things and a desire to have a home away from home, the fact that there is NO WHERE to put your clothes or even a decent table to eat a meal, this “Home away from home” falls flat. The worst part is: it is possible to fit all of these things in this unit, but it sucks when you feel that the host has cut corners in these areas to save money.
We stayed for 5 nights. But the place was a disaster afterwards because there was no place to put anything. Spend the money on a stand up closet and a dresser and it will go a long way.
Then get some double pane windows to help with the Fire Hall next door and this place would be a gem.
