Experience the many quiet charms of downtown Castine at this spacious and cozy getaway near the shores of Castine Harbor! This vacation rental is located in a converted home that it shares with three others (all four can be rented together by a larger group or an extended family). Enjoy a well-equipped, full kitchen for easy meal preparation, a shared, furnished front porch where you can grill in the summer sun, and a wonderful location close to the town's many historical sites!

This comfy getaway is located right on Main Street in the center of downtown Castine, a picturesque town that's home to the Maine Maritime Academy (a quarter-mile west). You'll be an easy stroll from a variety of restaurants and grocery stores, and only a mile southeast of Wadsworth Cove and Backshore Beach - a beautiful, protected inlet with pebbly sands and gentle surf.

Great location

Great location in Castine! Very easy to get to nearby towns. Property needs blinds on the windows (windows facing the driveway/parking, bathroom, and bedroom). Felt very exposed with half-curtains on ground level. Other than that, property was perfect!

Mostly quiet stay

Property was pretty clean, lots of cobwebs in bathroom. Upstairs renter luckily left after one night of banging around starting at 4 am. The rest of the stay was nice and quiet. The town itself is quaint. No restaurants worth noting, just fried food options. Market at edge of town was very nice and offered a good variety of organic and gluten free products. Interesting museum in town worth touring.

Adorable

The flat was adorable, well appointed including a bowl and poo bags for the dog (although we brought our own), Close to downtown and adorable little stores and coffee shops. Only thing I would say the furniture is tiny and not good for larger folks.
