JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa

The hotel was really outdated and worn. It is in need of an update which I understand they have already begun. I have stayed at a few other JWs and this one was much inferior compared to the others.

JW Marriott was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The property is located in the heart of Hotel Zone. Great for couples, friends or families. Not the “Spring Break” crowd. The beach and pool are fabulous. Service was impeccable. I will definitely be back!

FAMILY OF 4 W/ 2 TEENS : THE HOTEL STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I PURCHASED A JW SUITE OCEAN VIEW AND WAS ASSIGNED ROOM 439 WHICH HAS A PEEK AT THE OCEAN BUT IS MAINLY HIDDEN BEHIND THE ROOFTOP OF THE RESTAURANT. I REQUESTED ANOTHER ROOM WITH A BETTER OCEAN VIEW. THEY WERE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE US AFTER STAYING THE FIRST NIGHT IN 439. I WAS THEN ASSIGNED A PARTIAL OCEAN VIEW ON THE SECOND FLOOR. PERHAPS I DIDN'T PAY ENOUGH FOR MY ROOM TO WARRANT AN UPPER LEVEL WITH A FULL VIEW OF THE OCEAN. THE WAIT STAFF AT THE POOL WAS EXCELLENT AS WELL AS ALL THE MEALS WE HAD ON PROPERTY. EVERY EMPLOYEE WE PASSED GREETED US KINDLY. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AFTER THE RENOVATION. THIS PROPERTY IS OUTSTANDING!

I got a diff room than I booked. Called twice tonhave a crib in the room when i arrived but didnt. The printer wouldnt work when i checked out.

stayed here for a long weekend mother/daughter getaway. this hotel was perfect. honestly, no complaints. staff was super attentive, pool and beach access were top notch, food was exactly what we needed it to be. our room wasn't one of the renovated ones, but had a direct ocean view and balcony (thanks orbitz!) We were on a high floor too, and it was very quiet. ZERO construction noise whatsoever. We also both remarked how many pool/beach chairs were available, we've stayed at resorts where if you don't reserve your spot in the early AM you're screwed! Plenty of umbrellas, and really comfy poolside chairs. they even have an adults only pool, if you want to avoid the few kids that stay here. We had breakfast included with our rate also, which was great and really held us over throughout most of the day. we'd have a quick poolside lunch, delicious, and then go offsite for dinner most nights. there are restaurants on the lagoon side that are in walking distance. One night we took a cab to a place a few minutes away, and there were plenty of cards waiting on site. We also used the gym daily, which was in top notch shape and had plenty of space with a lot of equipment. i'd recommend this resort to anyone!

First off, this is going to be a DETAILED and FULL review. So buckle up and I’ll answer all your questions. First off,we stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. I’m in my mid twenties and my brother in his early twenties. Just giving that for reference. When you first arrive at the hotel, there is that “wow” factor. The place is huge and it’s very pleasing to the eyes. The worst experience I had at this place was the hotel staff, they were reluctant to be detailed in their hotel fees. There IS A WI-FI FEE. Unless you sign up for thier “Marriott rewards”. I did,hit free WiFi. The staff was also rude when I first checked in,however,it seemed to only be the guy “Mario”. The room is very clean. No smells, issues or broken equipment. We got the ocean view, and it’s breathetaking. Just a reminder, this is NOT a ALL-INCLUSIVE hotel. Also there is ZERO nightlife at this hotel. So if you want plain jane, this is right for you. Overall,I enjoyed my stay. However,I will not be returning.

I chose the J.W. Marriott for my daughter and her friend because of its reputation, location, and its presentation online. I was excited for them and for having purchased the stay for them. It portended to be a great 5-day vacation to Cancun. When they arrived, they were given a room next door to renovation and continual jack-hammering -- with no end. They went to the desk and asked for a different room. The clerk apologized and said they were being given an up-grade. Still the couple could hear nothing, and decided to live with it. Beyond that, I thought that I was securing a suite, but it turned out to be just the bedroom. I am not sure how that happened, but I would have paid more had I known. I am not new to Cancun, nor traveling, so I had thought that I was a bit more savvy. I would have liked a clearer description about the room and the renovations. Next time, I will go back to our old haunts.

I love everything about this hotel. Good hotel service, cleaning, pool, and great view!!!

My husband and I stayed at the JW Marriott for our 3 year wedding anniversary. We were very happy to have our room upgraded upon arrival (plus we were able to check in a little earlier than 3:00). Everything about the resort is great: the location, the beach, the pool, the room (the VIEW!!!), the gym. The only negative comments I have is that the prices are incredibly high and the food is simply Ok. We went to eat at Gustino restaurant after reading the great reviews. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. The appetizers weren't bad, but my steak was incredibly overcooked. The restaurants right outside the hotel are just as expensive though. We discovered Puerto Madero located nearby and it was one of the best restaurants we have eaten at. Overall, we managed to eat and drink and still be under the price of comparable all inclusives at the time ouf our stay.

Had a great time. Everything was great including buffet breakfast. Staff was great especially Ricardo who would greet you with a big smile and provide the best service ever

Location of JW Marriott is good in proximity to Cancun club scene and all tour agents. Hotel rooms is great! Bed is comfy! Just don't get the buffett breakfast if your not a big breakfast eater....

Fantastic time staying in JW, I would definitely book this hotel for my next time vacation

Rooms are clean, friendly stuff - Room service is available all day.

We had the best experience! Staff was very attentive. Hotel was clean and beautiful.

My experience was awesome, the pools and beach were breathtaking. I'm definitely coming back again.

My aife and I had an excellwnt vacation as a result of the great staff and accommodations. The location is perfect and the service the best i have experienced.

I can honestly say that this has been the best hotel I have stayed in . Not only was the hotel very beautiful but the staff was amazing . I was impressed of how accommodating the staff was to you, always willing to go the extra mile . I can't thank them enough for how they treated me and my best friend . I will definitely come back again .

This was our first visit to Cancun. We arrived on July 24th and took a private shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Make sure to book ahead of time with Orbitz, you will save money. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very nice. We were able to change our room to 8th floor without any hassle. Rooms above the 3rd floor is ideal to get a beautiful view of the beach. Marriott is located in the middle of hotel zone so it is close to other restaurants, nightlife and shopping. There are 2 restaurants I would recommend outside the hotel, Crab House (Edel) and Porfirio's Enrique) which are walking distance away, about 5 minutes. When you have time make sure to visit Chichen Itza.

Great 5 star hotel, everyone was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay

Our stay at the JW was really nice. The hotel is a trully 5 star and its staff is very friendly. The bedroom is super confirtable and clean. The bar in the lobby has a great atmosphere to relax at night. Everything was perfect during our stay.
