I was in town for about a week for work and it was nice to come back to a room that didn't feel like a typical hotel room. It's tucked off the main streets so it's quiet. The staff was friendly and my colleagues and I enjoyed the social. I'll definitely be back.
I thought that this was a nice property, although a bit hidden behind a Home Depot. Spacious room, with decent decor. But, I banged my head on the lamp over the small kitchen table. When the rooms are eventually re-done, change the lamp or it's location. They used real flatware, not plastic-ware in the breakfast room. Also real dishes.Yeah! Decent food selections. The carpet needs shampooing or replacement. A good choice in West Billings.
We've always had very good experiences at Residence Inn but this time it was just OK. The Front Desk staff were great...friendly and helpful. Our main complaint was the room and the noise. I think they put us next to a mechanical room because all night noises would come on and off. Then there was the microwave that sounded like a jet engine preparing for take-off and the fridge that didn't want to be outdone. On the plus side, the pool area was perfect...large pool, nice hot tub, all clean and well-maintained. The free breakfast is what you'd expect--scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurts, etc. The woman who staffed the breakfast area was EXCELLENT. Very friendly and always helpful. If I was going back to Billings I would probably check other hotels or at least ask for a better room.
Have you ever been to a hotel where the bed does not get made and the tissue dispenser is not refilled even when the empty box is left in a prominent place to attract housekeepings attention? Well, if you would like that experience, stay at the Residence Inn in Billings. Since we are Marriott Platinum members we stayed at this hotel when it was new when visiting relatives. It used to be a nice place to stay--well maintained and tidy. Not any more. The beds do not get made, the towels and supplies don't get replenished properly, and the dishes (if any are used) don't get removed from where they were left. All in all, a very disappointing experience. This is the second time we have stayed at the property recently and both times we experienced the same problem. Last time, the toilet didn't work and water was luke warm and never got hot. It is unclear whether the management changed, or if this is a franchise property that got sold. Whatever the reason for the change in service, we won't risk it again.
The rooms are very spacious and nice. I love their curved couches in their living room area. Additionally, they always have a great breakfast and the staff is outstanding! On one occasion, my daughter got really sick and vomitted all over the place/bed etc. and the head of the cleaning staff was so wonderful about the whole thing. Everything on the bed had to be changed out along with the carpet shampood and she was just concerned about my daughter. I love the staff here. Furthermore, they are very dog friendly!
We have stayed in Residence Inns often (we like the extra space and the kitchen), and this was a very good one. The staff was terrific -- giving us very good directions to local attractions and restaurants. And the breakfast manager even showed me how to use the waffle iron! We used AAA-guide directions, and had a little difficulty finding the Residence Inn, but once we knew our way around it was easier.
But our shower had only luke warm water. Given that it was late we assumed nothing could be done, and went with it. We left early and got a take-away breakfast from eh nice lady putting out the real food.
We like residence inn because of the complimentary breakfast and evening reception; both were good at this location. Betty who works the free reception is a lovely and fun lady. The hotel and our room were quite clean and comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if driving through the area.
We stayed here for two days for a quick long weekend. We were able to check in an hour early. The hotel itself is a bit dated and the outside of the entire place could use a power wash and some landscaping TLC. The room itself was clean and there were plenty of towels and other supplies. The bed was comfortable and the room was stocked with everything we needed. A major negative is the room AC unit is so loud. It was so loud I could not stand to have it on. The windows only open a crack. However, where our room was we could hear the large outside units and if I had the window open the smoke from the employees outside on break came right into my window. However, if you are a heavy sleeper this should not be a problem. The location of the hotel is close to shopping and plenty of food options. It is very close to the highway for quick trips. The front desk was very accommodating and they even had a mixer on Wednesday night with free beer, wine, and snacks.
We stayed here for 2 nights during a 3 week trip around Yellowstone Park. Finding fresh blood on the bed quilt our first night was not at all expected from this chain of hotels.... the male receptionist didn't know how to handle it other than suggest we move rooms, but having unpacked and the late hour I suggested we transfer fresh bed linen from a vacant room which we then made up ourselves..... but the main disappointment was that no one from the management team contacted us or sought us to apologise or explain. Be aware that there are no dining facilities at this Residence.
