I’m extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Wingate by Wyndham Fairbanks. I booked a King Deluxe room expecting something that actually resembled a “deluxe” setup, but what I walked into was far from it.
The room was bare—just a king bed, a TV, and a desk. No real furniture to speak of. The “seating” was basically a dining-style chair, not the couch or comfortable chair you’d expect when paying extra for a deluxe room. It felt stripped down and cheaply put together.
To make matters worse, the room had a strong odor that was very similar to cat urine. That alone made the stay uncomfortable and honestly unacceptable.
The surrounding area has also gone downhill. There were vagrants lingering on corners nearby, which made things feel unsafe and added to the overall negative experience.
What’s most frustrating is that I’ve stayed here years ago, and it used to be a nice, comfortable place. Now it feels like it’s been neglected and poorly managed. Definitely not worth the price, and I won’t be staying here again."
