1st room was messy. Clumps of hair and crumbs on bed, we switched rooms. Second room was ok. It sure needed an upgrade. They gave it a coat of paint. Wasn’t a good paint job. Some of the light switches, trims, toetrims and door ways were painted due to not taping it off. You get what you pay for. It was the cheapest option with a pool at the time. Kids running in hallway unsupervised. Pool was COLD. Smell of mold in the pool area. No towels in pool area. Breakfast was good and the guy working the breakfast area kept things cleaned and stocked. That’s why i gave it an extra star.

Terrible terrible stay… despite making and paying for the booking for ahead of time, when we checked in, they said they weren’t sure if they had a room available for us or if the room was clean. Mind you, it was 10 o’clock at night. Additionally, the hotel was being used as a shelter for people displaced by the typhoon. Well, they do have great sympathy for the plight of these people, it was definitely not a relaxing or comfortable or ideal setting for a vacation we had paid for and there was considerable chaos and unhoused people making noise all hours of the night, causing us to experience multiple wake ups in the middle of the night.

The staff and accomodations were very good. Some of the guest in the hotel were very noisy. During late hours - early morning. The hotel security did their best to handle things ( I suppose). It was an unfortunate situation

Our first room had not been cleaned. The room they gave us next the door did not latch. We slept in there until someone touched our door and it flew open. We left and got a different hotel for the remainder of our trip. This property is a dump!!!

The breakfast menu was great! Ray, the attendant, was constantly keeping breakfast fresh and replacing food as necessary. He deserves more than a 5 star. Trisca, the morning desk clerk was very helpful and provided information as needed. Keep up the good work, it was a good reflection on the hotel on behalf of her. There is an Hispanic lady that works evenings or night that was not knowledgeable of the hotel's policies and procedures and therefore provided me with erroneous information and she did not display any hospitality especially for newcomers. On behalf of her, I checked out the hotel early in order to enjoy my stay at the Wingate by Wyndham Anchorage.

Despite having made reservations prior to travel AND paying for it online we were told they had "overbooked" at our 1:30 am check in time (another item that had been cleared prior to arrival). The night manager did not make us a reservation at another location, nor did she try to locate another room. I have been a pretty regular guest until this time, but will not return.
