The hotel itself was great. The front desk clerk - not so much. We went to check into our reserved, confirmed, 2 bedroom suite. There were 2 couples - we arrived first, the 2nd couple was arriving a few hours later. We were told there were no 2 bedroom suites available. We told the desk clerk we had it confirmed/reserved. She said I can give you a room with 2 beds. Nope. Not acceptable. So we finally got her to give us 2 separate rooms. OK, so at least we had rooms. We unloaded our gear, went back to the airport to pick up the other couple. Return to the hotel so they can check in and........their room had been given away. Again, it was confirmed/reserved. By now we had all been up for 24 hours and were exhausted. The front desk clerk said there were no more rooms. We were so not happy. Finally, her supervisor stepped in and made it right: sent us to another hotel, comped the rooms. BUT......this is so unacceptable. We had reservations to return 3 nights later with another couple (family reunion prior to a cruise) and a 2 bedroom suite and a separate room had all been reserved. We had to beg the supervisor to ensure that those rooms were not given away prior to our arrival 3 days down the road. Something we should never have had to do as long time Marriott Rewards members. Yes, the hotel itself was great. But when the staff at the front desk make these types of mistakes, the rest doesn't even matter. 3 nights later when we returned, everything went as planned. But that didn't make up for the fact that our vacation started out badly with the errors of a poorly trained front desk clerk.

Excellent hotel for long term or short term stay for individuals and families. The location is excellent. We stayed in 2 bedroom suit, which was quite spacious with big bath tubs. The WiFi was free and fast. They have ample car parking spaces, swimming pool, spa and exercise room. The breakfast was excellent, but no hot food options fot vegetarians as in all Merriott hotels. They could have boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, wedges, hashbrown, baked beans, etc for vegetarians as offered in top hotels in world over. I have reduced my rating by 1 point for this reason. I have stayed many times in Marriott chain of hotels during my visits in USA and found their breakfast lacking in this respect.

The hotel is right on par with other Residence Inns. The rooms look the same. The morning buffet is identical. The small market has similar items for sale. The staff is friendly. They on't have a shuttle from the airport but they have deal with a local cab company who will bring you to the hotel and the front desk will reimburse the driver. Here is the part you need to know...they do not honor the exact reservation you made which can be problematic. The group in front of us (also having traveled 12 hours from the east coast and checking in at the body clock equivalent of 1am), did not get the 2 bedroom suite they had reserved. The configuration of adults could handle the offered alternative of a suite and a studio, but the system had trouble managing the matching rate for this accommodation shift. We stood in line for 45 minutes waiting for this debacle to be resolved. It took the front desk clerk 2 calls to the manager to try to outsmart the system. I was patient and confident that our situation would be fine as I am a lifetime Platinum and had checked in via the app 24 hours in advance. Not so fast.... no 2 bedroom suite for us either. Because we were traveling with a teenager, we could not accept the previous alternative so our 6ft 17 yr old slept on the fold out couch. We were awarded 10,000 bonus points. That should have kept me quiet except we witnessed the other situation and it made me post this for all of you. If this could happen to us, it will happen to others. Makes us wonder if they even have 2 bedroom suites. I am not sure how you ensure you are getting what you reserved but if you want a 2 bedroom, family requirement, you better figure it out before you arrive.

We went to check in after a 12 hour travel and to find out they gave our room away. Not happy is not even close. The reason for the 2 stars is they put us up in one of their sister hotel rooms. Double check your reservation before you go.

We stayed here a couple of nights while in the Anchorage area. Layout and rooms were the standard Residence Inn setup that was expected. Our 2 bedroom suite was roomy and well equipped. Only gripe was the kitchen floor was a little sticky. There was ample parking surrounding the hotel and there was an inviting courtyard in the middle of the property. Breakfast was decent though got a bit crowded when we went around 8am. There was only one waffle machine which constantly had a line of 2-3 people. The gym was well equipped with 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, at least 1 bike, and weights. The in-room wifi worked well enough to stream HD videos. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the airport and close to many stores and restaurants.

We stayed at the hotel for 10 days in June and loved it. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Rooms are a little dated but very clean, comfortable and quiet. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen and a fireplace. Sweet! It felt like a home away from home. Breakfast is the typical fare consisting of some type of breakfast meat, scrambled eggs, breads of all sorts, cereal, waffles, oatmeal, coffee, tea and juices. What I liked is that they had a variety of Tazo teas including some herbal teas, and a variety of yogurts --including Activia and Chobani Greek yogurt. In the evenings --i.e. Mon-Wed, they serve a light meal along with free beer, wine and soda. The hotel grounds are nice and while we were there, they were putting in summer flowers and hanging baskets which added a lot of charm. There is an outdoor fireplace and grill so you can actually BBQ if the mood hits you. However, the most remarkable thing about the hotel were the delightful and helpful staff. Everyone was great---particularly Samantha and Jackie. We would always be greeted with smiles and offers to help. The hotel provides shuttle service to and from the airport and to downtown. All in all, we had a great stay and will definitely stay there again next year.

We stayed 2 nights at this property while on vacation in Alaska. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was very clean, and in fact the entire property, including the exterior, was extremely clean and well cared for. There was a nice variety of breakfast foods and fruit to choose from. My son left his iPad in the room when we checked out; we called the hotel a few hours later when we realized what happened, and they said they had the iPad and held it for us until we returned to Anchorage a week later. We would definitely stay at this property if we returned to Anchorage.

Big property, nice grounds, pool, basketball courts, nice breakfast. Staff is really great, halls are clean. Housekeeping is lacking. Room are not cleaned on a regular basis, anything beyond 2 nights is considered extended stay. Sheets only changed every 3 days or less. Rooms were not cleaned, bathroom floors not wiped. The property has a great location, convenient to everything and pets are welcome. Parking is free and ample. Kitchen and laundry are both great. You have to ask if you want to have your room cleaned.

On a business trip, one of at least two every year to this area. I liked the convenience of this location to my Company's local office and the airport. Breakfast food was good as usual for a Residence Inn. Rooms were clean and decent.

Booked the two rooms with the living room in the middle, perfect for everyone. .Liked having the kitchen area for heating up leftovers, and the full size appliances, not half sized. Location is away from the downtown area, but close to major stores and restaurants. Liked being able to jump on highway in 5 minutes to do sightseeing.
