I'm being tough on the rating, because there's really nothing that stands out about the hotel other than helpful service that makes up for the property being out of the way (unless you are doing business nearby). We booked two rooms here for a total of seven people. What we did like: - There was an indoor pool, albeit small, it was nice for a quick dip. - Hotel shuttle saved us from needing to rent a car - it was available for trips downtown and to airport. - Rooms were ready early. What could have been better: - The hotel is getting worn out. - You can theoretically walk across the highway and through various parking lots to a nearby restaurant, but there really isn't anything within a decent walking distance. - Laundry room - detergent available for purchase, 1.75 per wash plus 1.75/dry; only two washers/four dryers per laundry room (two total in our building) - Although it got taken off our bill when we disputed, a $400 drycleaning charge showed up when we never used drycleaning service. FYI - hot breakfast buffet not available until 7am - continental breakfast prior to that.

Stayed here due to a relocation from overseas. Stayed for about 45 days. Lets start with the good. Hotel staff was excellent. Everyone we encountered was courteous and always tried to make your stay better. Front desk, housekeeping, and the kitchen staff were amazing. I gave it 3 stars because of the staff only, if not for that I would have deducted another star. I was disappointed with the appearance of the rooms mainly. Carpets were severely stained, furniture was stained and looked dirty and grimy. The rooms are way overdue for a refresh. Laundry room never had more than one washer functional at any time. Outside hotel grounds seemed to be always trash here and there. Trash cans were always full and often overflowing. While not a 5 Star hotel there is a level of expectation for a Marriott property and this hotel did not meet it. The staff was the only saving grace.

I enjoyed my stay but wouldn’t necessarily pick the hotel for a holiday. I liked the kitchen and since there are no restaurants really close, it saved time to have a kitchen. The service was really good.

Located some distance from downtown Anchorage, the hotel provided transportation to and from the downtown upon request. Free wine, beer and other beverages were also provided free of charge in the evening as well as nightly special events. The 2 bedroom suite was very nice and comfortable. We also appreciated the cookies that were provided at the front desk in the late afternoon.

I stayed at this Residence Inn during a business trip in September 2017. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space. The complimentary breakfast was good and allowed savings on breakfast cost during the trip. Hotel staff were excellent at providing quality service. On one occasion, I mistakenly left a $3000 wedding band near the kitchen sink. While at work I realized it was missing from my finger and figured it to be lost. Upon returning to my room the maid cleaned the room and put the ring right back where it was near the sink in clear view. This demonstrates a high level of staff integrity and professionalism not seen in all hotels. At the end of my trip the hotel provided complimentary car service to the airport with assistance loading and unloading baggage. Overall, this is one of the better hotels I have stayed in and highly recommend to others looking to stay in Anchorage.

“Good Choice for Anchorage Hotel”. I stayed here for a long layover to Barrow, Free airport shuttle, excellent service from front desk personal, room very comfortable and spacious. Stayed in the studio. Clean and comfortable room. Quick on demand shuttle back to airport in morning. I did not use any other services even the free breakfast since I had to be back to airport at 5am. Will stay here again if in town. P.S. stayed her a week latter on my way back to Whittier, and the breakfast was very nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Great hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast one of best. Transportation to town and other areas available free. Anchorage worth seeing. Historical, clean and good food. Take the trolley tour. Very informative and great driver/guide.

Easy to find hotel and room. Nice staff. Good bed and great breakfast. Loved the brie! Typical RI decor so no surprises. Quiet so it made it easy to adjust to Alaska's time zone as we were ready for bed early!

This hotel has the usual clean, spacious rooms and extensive breakfast (including lots of fresh fruit). But what made it special in my eyes was the wonderful staff and their magic van that took me and my party of four all around Anchorage, just for the asking! The front desk called on drivers Ms. Jessica and Mr.Jeremiah, and they took us to museums, bike rental places and more. I felt like a VIP with my own limo. Finally, the staff was very kind to my friend who suffered a broken ankle on the Tony Knowles bike trail, giving her flowers , a goodies basket and a card. Wonderful people, wonderful hotel.

We arrived late after arriving in Anchorage by train from Seward, Alaska. We had a large, 2 bedroom suite which was very clean and well stocked. The staff was exceptional - the desk staff, housekeeping, maintenance and shuttle driver. All were helpful, knowledgeable and seemed to truly like their jobs. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel both mornings and were fortunate enough to be there on an evening when they had a food truck in the parking lot! That was great in itself but in addition, the hotel offered beverages and dessert in the dining area. What more could one ask for? Although we did not use the pool or exercise room, we took advantage of the guest laundry facilities, which were clean, well maintained and reasonable. Because we didn't have a car, we took cabs to some local attractions / areas and found the prices very reasonable. The Residence Inns are always my first choice in hotels and this one was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Anchorage.
