I stayed at this Residence Inn during a business trip in September 2017. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space. The complimentary breakfast was good and allowed savings on breakfast cost during the trip. Hotel staff were excellent at providing quality service. On one occasion, I mistakenly left a $3000 wedding band near the kitchen sink. While at work I realized it was missing from my finger and figured it to be lost. Upon returning to my room the maid cleaned the room and put the ring right back where it was near the sink in clear view. This demonstrates a high level of staff integrity and professionalism not seen in all hotels. At the end of my trip the hotel provided complimentary car service to the airport with assistance loading and unloading baggage. Overall, this is one of the better hotels I have stayed in and highly recommend to others looking to stay in Anchorage.
“Good Choice for Anchorage Hotel”. I stayed here for a long layover to Barrow, Free airport shuttle, excellent service from front desk personal, room very comfortable and spacious. Stayed in the studio. Clean and comfortable room. Quick on demand shuttle back to airport in morning. I did not use any other services even the free breakfast since I had to be back to airport at 5am. Will stay here again if in town. P.S. stayed her a week latter on my way back to Whittier, and the breakfast was very nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Great hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast one of best. Transportation to town and other areas available free. Anchorage worth seeing. Historical, clean and good food. Take the trolley tour. Very informative and great driver/guide.
Easy to find hotel and room. Nice staff. Good bed and great breakfast. Loved the brie! Typical RI decor so no surprises. Quiet so it made it easy to adjust to Alaska's time zone as we were ready for bed early!
This hotel has the usual clean, spacious rooms and extensive breakfast (including lots of fresh fruit). But what made it special in my eyes was the wonderful staff and their magic van that took me and my party of four all around Anchorage, just for the asking! The front desk called on drivers Ms. Jessica and Mr.Jeremiah, and they took us to museums, bike rental places and more. I felt like a VIP with my own limo. Finally, the staff was very kind to my friend who suffered a broken ankle on the Tony Knowles bike trail, giving her flowers , a goodies basket and a card. Wonderful people, wonderful hotel.
We arrived late after arriving in Anchorage by train from Seward, Alaska. We had a large, 2 bedroom suite which was very clean and well stocked. The staff was exceptional - the desk staff, housekeeping, maintenance and shuttle driver. All were helpful, knowledgeable and seemed to truly like their jobs. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel both mornings and were fortunate enough to be there on an evening when they had a food truck in the parking lot! That was great in itself but in addition, the hotel offered beverages and dessert in the dining area. What more could one ask for? Although we did not use the pool or exercise room, we took advantage of the guest laundry facilities, which were clean, well maintained and reasonable. Because we didn't have a car, we took cabs to some local attractions / areas and found the prices very reasonable. The Residence Inns are always my first choice in hotels and this one was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Anchorage.
One thing you can say about Marriott, you know what you will get, they are so consistent. I asked for flat pillows for a neck injury, and always have one in my room. Service is wonderful, rooms are always clean and spacious with room to work if we so choose. Wish there had been a restaurant. There seems to be a few homeless people in the area, so not good to go walking at night.
My family of 4 stayed here after a long flight into Anchorage. We had the 2 bedroom suite. It was a great stay for us. The room has a full kitchen (with full size refrigerator), 2 bathrooms and 2 separate bedrooms and a pull out sofa in the living room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet hot breakfast is complementary and it was delicious. The hotel is in a great part of town, about 5 miles to airport and many restaurants, including the Moose's Tooth Pizzeria (a local favorite). Would definitely stay again.
Arrived in the wee early hours and the manager was amazing. Apparently I told her I was celebrating my 50th birthday here. I was so tired I don't recall everything I said but she heard me! On my birthday I came back to my room late in the day to find a birthday basket! I about started to cry. Then the next day i came back I found another birthday basket from my room attendant! I felt like one lucky gal! When I travel for pleasure I always stay at a Residence Inn and they never disappoint. My first time in Alaska and the staff was superb! The room was clean and cozy. The bed was like home. I slept well each night. I will visit here again!
The hotel itself was decent, however the staff seemed incompetent. They could not thoroughly explain their policies and had difficulties resolving issues during the stay. There were multiple holds in different amounts put on and then taken off our credit/debit cards the duration of our stay causing major fluctuations in accounts. There was never one set amount held and the reason for the random holds were not explained. Some of us wanted to pay in full up front, but were told by the desk we could not. Trying to check out was a headache, because the money being held by the hotel was not released and could not just be applied directly to the balance even though Residence Inn had the hold on the money. This caused a financial strain on some of the guests we had traveled with, because not only did they have to pay off the balance, but hundreds of dollars were unavailable for use until these holds by the hotel could come off. After I myself had checked out and PAID for my stay I stayed in the lobby waiting for departure to the airport. I recieved a call from Chase Freud Letting me know that Residence Inn AK had attempted to run my Debit card 4 more times for different amounts after the initial amount I had authorized and AFTER I had checked out. Also, do not have cocktails in the lobby or outside in the courtyard, but if you want to smoke weed and fill the entire hallway with the smell that is not a problem. Our hall smelt like a Bob Marley tour bus. I have never dealt with this level of frustration at any other hotel I have stayed at anywhere. Alaska is beautiful, but I have never been so excited to go home from a trip after dealing with these people.
