Overall good impression. Clean room. The bed had probably done it’s time. Nonetheless the hotel has a nice location and kind staff. There is a small winery and cheese “boutique” (Bourgondy-something) across the street that it is worth to check. Lots of quality wine and cheese.
The hotel gave us a free upgrade from the triple room to a junior suite, which i felt was a pleasant welcoming gift! The room was also ready before 2pm, which my parents and I really appreciated since we could rest for a while before going to sight see. The room was bigger than most hotel rooms in Amsterdam, and gave ample space for 3. Side note, amenities such as toothbrush and slippers were not provided, only given when requested. The location of the hotel was superb too, 10 mins walk from the Centraal station, with a lot of nearby cafes, shops and supermarkets. Loved the neighbourhood! My only complain was bed bugs??? My mum woke up with big bug bites from the night before, and it causes a lot of irritation and itch. Should there have not been this issue, the stay would have been perfect. Please look into the issue and clean accordingly to prevent other travellers from experiencing the same thing!!
I want to give a 3.5 star rating to this hotel. While the location is great - minutes away from the main shopping street, the rooms are very small. For a couple on a longish trip in EU i.e. 3-4 bags, this was definitely cramped. The central location ensured that we could make it an ideal base to explore the city on foot. However, the ride to airport is bit long but that's also because of the zone in which this hotel is located. The bed though was comfortable, and so was the bathroom. But overall I found that there were better options in Amsterdam at similar prices (possibly in the vicinity too, I didnt check thoroughly). Of course if you up your budget slightly, you can get branded/chain hotels too. Will probably choose another hotel on my next visit to AMS.
Three of us occupied a family suite for two nights and found it to be a great base to explore the city. It was a little pricey but nevertheless we had a nice stay. The staff were friendly and gave assistance when it was requested. Our main criticism would be that there were some areas needing a refresh, e.g. carpets on the hallway had worn in places, decoration needs the odd touch up here and there and our bathroom desperately needed a new toilet brush, oh and some soap would have been good. When we asked for milk to make a drink we were directed to a nearby supermarket - not great to be honest. But hey, these were minor things but not what you want or expect to find in a non-budget boutique hotel. With so many people passing through the hotel wear and tear is inevitable, but they just need to keep on top of things to maintain standards.
We stayed here for two nights and have to say it was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable peaceful stay We arrived a couple of hours early to ask if we could leave our luggage there and were told that since the room was ready we could check straight in. The room was a good size and clean. We had a double bed and then a small divide and two single beds for the teenagers. The coffee making facilities were fab with a pod machine and bottles of water Bathroom was big with separate shower and bath and wonderful under floor heating. we also left our luggage here on the last day as its a easy walk to the station. the only downside was they dont supply soap in the bathroom, body wash and shampoo but no soap at the sink which i did find slightly odd!
Nice size rooms. Very spacious and modern bathrooms. Huge windows overlooking the main road which can get loud at times but it was nice to people watch while I drank my morning coffee. Stayed for 4 nights. Our room was only cleaned once during that time which was quite disappointing. The front desk staff lacked personality and the lobby and elevator are tiny!! However you really cannot beat the location and the price is reasonable for what you get. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Amsterdam is such a beautiful city with so many hotels to choose from. Hopefully better luck next time
We enjoyed two nights in this small boutique hotel. The fit out was new and simplistic. We were in a twin room with ample space and a good sized bathroom. The reception area is open and welcoming as are the staff who are available 24/7 to assist you with directions, restaurant recommendations or an umbrella if it's raining. It's located within an easy walk of the central station and is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the red light district but still within easy walk of it. A great place to staff for romantic couples or friends traveling together.
Stayed in room 403 with the roof terrace so we could smoke. Are room was on the back of the hotel which was quiet, the room was clean and tidy and it was cleaned every day during my stay and had towels, sampoos and coffees stocked up also, Found the staff very friendly and helpfull Aswell, would use them again, P.s the shower screen leaves nothing to the imagination 😁
First time in Amsterdam for a Birthday celebration. We chose this hotel because of its location. The location was great, it was near by the tourist areas. Amsterdam central station was 10 minutes walk. Our room was tiny. We had the double room with the roof terrace. There wasn’t enough space to walk around the room, It was disappointing. The bathroom needed updating and needed deep clean.
Let me start by saying that this Hotel acted within their policies which is clearly outlined on the website and all travel booking sites. They have policies in place and they acted within those. But at what cost? Let’s start with the positives. Great location. The room for European standards was a good size and we had a king size bed. The windows made it light and breezy. But that’s about it. On to what we will call negatives. We upgraded to the “Penthouse” which is on the 5th floor. The lifts only go to the 4th. My husband has to carry our large bags up a spiral staircase. I would have never been able to do it. The instructions around check out time etc was very clearly displayed, they would charge €100 for every hour you were over time. The bath products were cheap and minimal. The towels were old and crunchy. Nothing like I was expecting for the approximately $450 per night we were paying. All that I could cope with but this Hotel is only interested in making money, had no customer focus, and lacked what appeared to be a soul. The issue we had before we arrived was that originally we were to travel with another couple but sadly her mother is gravely ill and was unable to come with us. We missed cancelling their room by 8 hours according to their policy but they didn’t care. There was no compassion. The booking.com agent called and asked them to consider waiving it but no they charged it. We upgraded at an additional cost of approximately $400 but no they charged it. The Hotel was fully booked for the Friday and Saturday night but they still charged it. All their messaging is about what they will charge you. It was quite within their right to charge them, but it was heartless. This hotel needs to change their thinking to looking at their business from a customers view if they want repeat or referred business. They need to look outward not inwards. So finally I always come back to not what they said or did but how a place made me feel. The Bank Hotel made me feel like a number, in fact a number of Euros, that’s it! Based on this I would never return to, or recommend this hotel.
