The problem I had was with the difficulty checking in on line and the inability to pick seats through the orbitz app. After figuring it out on my own, I finally had to download the American Airlines app to check in and get the boarding passes. Apparently this is how I could have picked seats, but didn’t know it until too late. Nothing in the orbitz app/site told me I had to do it this way, so I was VERY disappointed with orbitz for this reason. However, I was happy with American Airlines. I will likely book through American directly in the future rather than messing with Orbitz. Further, I was disappointed with Orbitz because we had to cancel our original trip to Cancun due to travel warnings and they wouldn’t give us any credit, whereas if we had booked through American directly, we would have received some compensation. Again, very unhappy with Orbitz.
