Flying into Pensacola

The Pensacola International Airport is located at 2430 Airport Boulevard, approximately 5 miles from downtown Pensacola. Several airlines provide flights to Pensacola, including Delta Air Lines, United Express, US Airways Express and American Eagle. It's easier to get around Pensacola if you have a car, so you should consider renting a vehicle during your trip. You can save money by purchasing a package from that includes your flight and a rental car. Eight car rental companies, including Hertz, Alamo, Avis, and Enterprise, have rental desks at the airport.. If you aren't renting a vehicle, taxis are readily available in front of the terminal. Cab fare costs $2 for the first .09 miles and $0.25 for each additional .09 mile, and there's a minimum charge of $11.

With year-round warm weather, there isn't a bad time to vacation in Pensacola. The city has short mild winters and long hot summers. If you travel during the winter months, you should bring lightweight clothes that you can layer, as well as a jacket. It's warm during the day, when average high temperatures hover in the low 60s, but the temperature can drop into the high 40s at night. During the summer months, average temperatures range from the mid-70s to the high 90s, and there are often afternoon thunderstorms. Pensacola beach is the city's main attraction. The sandy beach is a great place to relax, but you can also enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing while you're there. When you've had enough sun for the day, visit the Historic Pensacola Village. The area is home to some of Florida's oldest homes and resembles an English colonial town.
