The Orlando International Airport is only 6.8 miles from the city's center, so you'll have no trouble at all in reaching your destination after you land. Local bus service can get you to the downtown area for $2.00 or out to Walt Disney World in nearby Lake Buena Vista for $4.00. The same trip by taxi will cost you $18 to downtown or $60 to Walt Disney World.
The best time to travel to Orlando is during one of the high seasons when the weather is best. The high seasons run from March to April, the middle of June to the middle of August and the middle of December to the first week of January. The weather in Orlando ranges from highs in the summer of 92 degrees Fahrenheit to lows in January of 48 degrees. Dress should be seasonally based, with cool clothing for summers and moderate layers for winter.
Visitors to the area often try out some of the theme parks. While Walt Disney World may be the most famous, Universal Studios Florida and SeaWorld Orlando are also great options. Those looking for other entertainment options can visit the several art museums or attend Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Orlando Ballet performances.
