The lobby was spacious and decor was Contemporary. I had breakfast there and the food was restaurant quality and generous portions. There was a snack store generously stocked. I had a Handicap room with a low bed and a walk in shower with seat, hand rails and two shower heads.
The whole experience was ruined by NO HOUSEKEEPING. I returned from my day out to a stack of clean towels and emptied wastebaskets. No bed made, no fresh coffee cups or ice bucket liner, no clean sink, no vacuumed carpeting.
The night clerk whispered to the housekeeping head by phone and then told me that "she'd gone home" and that they "didn't do room cleanings". NO apology.
In the morning, the desk clerk clarified that their "policy" was to clean "every third day". So if you stay one or two nights, you're out of luck: no vacuuming, bathroom clean etc. The desk clerk was "supposed to tell me" when I checked in. The website, the lobby, the front desk, and the room were all devoid of any information about this. You can get your room cleaned daily, but you "have to ask". I didn't check, but I wonder if they will charge you more for this. What a nefarious way to ensure profits.
It hurt more that the staff did not know how to gracefully accept a complaint. Just apologizing and offering a solution "I will tell our manager that we need more signage." would have helped. No, I didn't raise my voice. I know that desk staff are not responsible. I will not stay at this hotel or a subsidiary again.
