I stayed at Hotel V in Gatineau recently and had a mixed but fair experience.
There were definitely some positives: the free parking was a nice convenience, and having a restaurant on site was great — although I didn’t get a chance to eat there during my stay. The room rate was reasonable, making it a good option for travelers on a budget.
The room and bathroom were small, but fine for a short visit. I did notice that the quilt on the bed was stained and didn’t appear freshly washed, so I chose not to use it — a detail that could easily be improved with more attention to housekeeping.
One concern was that there were people lingering outside the hotel late into the night. It wasn’t necessarily unsafe, but the noise made it a bit hard to relax, and it may be something for management to keep an eye on.
I also saw a small bug in the room, which looked like a roach. Just to be safe, I washed all my clothes and sprayed my suitcase after returning home.
Overall, Hotel V has a lot of potential, with a convenient location and decent value, but a few improvements in cleanliness and nighttime atmosphere would really elevate the guest experience.
