The staff were mostly excellent, cleanliness was great. Most staff were very polite and congenial and the property is immaculate. The worst part about the hotel is the the chaos of arriving and parking vehicles. The car jockeying is very poorly managed with overcrowding at the entrance on several occasions. The the length of time one has to wait to get your car - over 45 minutes at checkout and several times during our stay - was unacceptable. No apologies were made and no warning was given that this may be an issue. Also our car which had no snow when we dropped it off appeared to have been parked outside in the snow for 2 days and we received it full of snow, hardly any had been brushed off, door handles were frozen and full of snow. We have never seen valet parking like this at any Farimont or other establishments.

When in Downtown Ottawa, I stay at a few different hotels but the Fairmont is my favorite. Clean, great staff, great history, and overall 5-star feel.
Room not ready at check in. No remote in room and took two requests to get delivered. Remote then had to be held right up to TV to work. Overdependence on cellular- need to scan code to see cost of minibar and again for room service menu. Other than that, staff and service lovely...enjoyed ambience of each restaurant...and people watching in lobby. Delightful change all round from stay same time last year doing intense covid restriction.

Great location and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The electronic valet call system was really convenient, but the actual getting in and out of the valet area was almost always backed up.
