Just stayed here overnight due to catching an early flight. The rooms were suitable for this purpose. We caught the bus to the hotel but had to wait 45 minutes which was not good. This is not the hotel’s fault at all, as it was not run by the hotel, so if you can afford it, take the pods which are £8 per person. We didn’t risk the bus in the morning so took the pods which were excellent and quick.

Great hotel

Arrived at Thistle hotel by using the pods from T5, this is a brilliant way to travel and so simple, check in at the hotel was simple, receptionist very friendly and explained everything, there is no lift in this hotel but we were on first floor just be prepared to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs, we were offered help with our bags if we needed. Standard double room, kettle, standard size mugs, adjustable heater, bed could have done with a kingsize duvet rather than a double as not much hangs over sides, two comfy pillows and mattress was firm, Breakfast following morning was very good, choice of hot buffet or cold, very nice. Using the pod system to and from T5 costs £8 each payable to the hotel, this gives you a gate code and access either way. The pods take just 5 minutes to and from t5 so perfect, sign posts telling you were they are. Overall this is a hotel worth staying at for T5 for the location and ease of getting there.

Great location for an overnight stay for early flight from T5 especially as we parked in the Pod parking. Staff were welcoming and friendly and responded to the minor issues we had in the room promptly.

Thistle T5

I stayed here pre-flight to be near T5. The reception staff were lovely and the room clean and comfortable. I left at 4am so did not use the bar or have breakfast. The hotel has access to a pod system to take you to T5 (4am to midnight and currently £8 pp each way the hotel explained). I took the 423 bus 🚌 two stops to T5 - the hotel provide a bus timetable. There is also a hotel-hopper bus from T5 but I wasn’t going to wait an hour for it to arrive.

Lovely clean hotel. Good checkin, quiet, comfortable bed. Room on the compact side but youre only in it for a short time. Bar/restaurant really relaxing and an added bonus of the ourdoor area to view aircraft

Very aged hotel rooms that we stayed in, bathroom and amenities in the room in need of updating. Bathroom looked like the sealant was rushed around the sink and the faucet to the shower had a hole in the tiles. However, ok for a night as conveniently next to T5 using the pods.

Convenient airport hotel exactly as described and good value if you don’t want to slash out on the more high-end options. Easy to access the terminal using the pods (£8 per person) and ideal for late or early flights. Small shop in reception for snacks etc. Would stay again.
