Ember Locke best stay in London!

Ember Locke was awesome! From nice smells coming in door/ friendly & quick ckin/great comfy lounge area/good breakfast/diningrm/cafe area/ bar! Loved our Ember Locke studio apt! Had full kitchen/sitting area/nice size bathroom/ comfy bed. Everything so compact-best stay! Stayed 11 days last year-3 this yr! Close 2 Earl’s Court(lots of restaurants/pubs fast foods/hop on/off bus. Had nice garden out back-very relaxing! George at front desk was a gem! So friendly & helpful! Next yr-we will be back!

We booked this hotel as it was advertised as a four star property. I checked the reviews before booking and people on Expedia seemed happy with the property, so I booked the family room. I was concerned with heat and noise so I made sure the property is air conditioned and I checked with the hotel to see whether we can get a garden view room but was told all family rooms were street facing. On the day of check-in we had some hiccups with our travel and were late for check in. We were contacted by the property that if we don’t check in by midnight our reservation will be released! I explained the situation and was assured we will have our room. When we arrived at the property (about 1am) we were led to the basement!!! And were told all family rooms are in the basement! I have never been to a hotel (let alone a 4 star one) with rooms in the basement. The family room was just two interconnecting rooms, so I am not sure why they are only in the basement! The room was dark, dated and unclean; one toilet paper was heavily stained! It wasn’t that they didn’t notice it, the solid toilet paper was folded in the roll!! There were crumbs on the floor and stains on the carpet. We had no option but to stay the night. Early in the morning I got in contact with Expedia to help us cancel the booking as we booked for 3 nights. We were told the room was cancelled for the two future nights but we had to pay for the one night. We stayed at the Royal gardens Kensington for the same price!!!

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, and the location was excellent. The bathrooms could be a little nicer- I had some drainage issues with the shower and a few bugs. But they did upgrade my room free of charge, and in general, the room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Jess and John were kind, patient and helpful. They are the front desk staff. On site laundry was great! The best part was that they held my luggage for me when I travelled to Paris for few days! The room was clean and the windows can be opened for those who might be claustrophobic! Walking distance to Earl’s court station and many restaurants and shops around. Thank you Jess and John! I will recommend all my friends to stay at Ember Locke especially because of you guys!

The Ember Locke Kensington offers several lounge areas to sit and read quietly or enjoy a drink. There is also a lovely and spacious garden area for guests’ enjoyment. Our room included a washer and dryer all-in-one unit which was handy. Laundry detergent is provided. There is also a small fridge, microwave, and induction cooktop. Bath soap and shampoo is provided, but not body lotion which would have bee appreciated. Our room was on two levels, with the kitchen, seating area, and shower on the lower floor, and the beds, dresser, and half-bath on the upper floor. Beds are large and comfortable. Our only complaint is that there is not adequate lighting. A bright light in the lower seating area is needed to be able to read comfortably once the sun goes down. A mirror in the half-bath would have been much appreciated.

Very cool vibe, friendly staff, welcoming to all ages. Convenient location: less than 10 minutes to groceries (fridge, stove, microwave in room), same distance to underground station, even less to bus stops (one right outside the door), lots of places to eat within walking distance (a pub, fast food, breakfast/lunch, ethnic cuisine). Laundry facilities a wonderful feature. Also a restaurant on the ground floor for breakfast as well as pizza, and a small cafe area in the lobby. Very close to Design Museum (10 minute walk), V&A and Hyde Park (both 2 stops on underground or short bus ride). Everything you might want to do is reachable.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. All staff were friendly & helpful. The dining & lounge areas are very comfortable and they make you want to stay & enjoy them. The location of the hotel is just around the corner from underground stations and Kensington High St and many other attractions. Our hotel room had everything we needed for our stay. It was quiet and well appointed. Would definitely stay again and can recommend it
