Tiny dark room, toilet not flushing properly, missing bits and bobs, had to buy our own tea and coffee, no room cleaning despite paying £1500 for six nights, crappy over the bath shower, a member of staff came in while we were out all day and left the door open. The description is “glamorous” but it’s anything but.

Great location walking distance from Earls Court Underground ( we got the train directly from Heathrow Airport). Fabulous decor throughout the hotel. Room was good and had a decent sized fridge and a very good shower. It was nice to be able to open the windows too. The bed was very comfortable however the 10cm gap to the wall on one side got a bit old as we stayed five nights - would have been fine for a few nights stay.

The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful, accommodating and friendly. Our room was lovely and situated off the courtyard so it was extremely quiet. The room was well laid out with ample room for 2, with a perfect dining nook in the mini Kitchen (which was also very convenient)! The art deco themed decor in the lobby is fabulous. We loved staying there and will definitely book a room there on our next trip to London without a doubt. A big shout out again to the reception staff! A very cool relaxed vibe in an art deco styled haven.

Let’s start with the fact that there is no outside light to the building. Not great for security. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Ground floor amenities were satisfactory. Issues: Not pre-informed that there was no daily housekeeping for room. The bed was up against one wall making it near impossible for that person to easily get in and out of bed. The room lighting was poor. Mold in the shower. Had a sink, hotplate, dishes etc but no dish soap or dish towels. By our experience with 4 star hotels, Ember Locke did not come close. At best, it was a low 3. The one reason we picked a hotel over an ABNB was because we were expecting daily housekeeping and lack of this was very disappointing. We would have chosen elsewhere had we known.

We’ve stayed that the Locke aparthotel in Dublin and loved it, so we thought this London location would be equally great. Unfortunately, we found that the only positives of the Locke Studio rooms were that the beds were comfortable and the TVs had a wide selection of things to watch. The biggest problems were the bathrooms and room temperature. The shower/bathtub drains do not drain properly, so we were standing ankle deep in our own bath water. The toilets seemed old and creaked every time we sat on them. The sink taps were very strange and seemed to give off a weird odour when the water was running. The thermostat in the room did not work, so the room was always freezing at night. No matter how much we increased the temperature, it always stayed at 19 degrees. The kitchenette was somewhat well-equipped, except the fridge was very small and there wasn’t dish soap to do any dishes. Overall, this aparthotel is not worth the price for its lack of working amenities.
