Booked this hotel for Labor Day weekend due to its proximity to the Yogi Bear Campground, where we frequently weekend trip with family. Reservation was paid in full in advanced, due to booking online, which was fine. I called a couple days after booking to inquire if I would get refunded if I cancelled the reservation (about a week in advanced). I was told that the online booking is non refundable, I said "ok, no problem. Keep my reservation as planned." We arrive, room is ok. Clean enough but smells of smoke. I feel the rate charged exceeds quality of room/hotel. Get out check out bill Sunday morning after two nights stay and see that we are being double charged. A cancelation fee of the entire price of our stay is on the bill to total $619.12. Head up to the front desk to let them know there is a mistake on my bill. Lady in front of me is also complaining about being double charged. Now this is the Sunday before Labor Day and the hotel is pretty full. I get to the counter and I'm informed that there is. I manager on duty and that the current front desk staff does not have access to correct the bill. Obviously this is not satisfactory, I told the girl to not run my card again, as I had already paid in full for my stay. She said a manager would contact me the next day (Labor Day). Later that day my card was ran anyway, double charging us for our stay. Next day, Labor Day I was contacted by the manager and she agreed charge was in error and that Holiday Inn would refund us the overcharge of $309.66 as well as on our nights stay. I found this to be satisfactory and mentioned that it was not fair to their front desk staff to not have someone on the clock at all time to fix these simple mistakes. Said return should reflect by Wednesday or Thursday. Monday 9/11 return finally shows in my bank, along with a THIRD charge of $309.66. Called the hotel, no manager on duty until Wednesday and only a manager can fix this. This is absolutely ridiculous. This hotel has now taken $928 out of my account for a two night stay, in a rural area of Indiana. Now I can't even speak to someone until Wednesday. At this point is will be almost two weeks passed my stay to have a simple billing error resolved. Next step is calling corporate. Do not stay here unless you have double the amount for your trip on the card you provide for booking.
The hotel is rather old and dated. They have a suite with a kids' cabin on the ground level, which is just dusty and dreadful. Arranging a change of room seems to be a big hassle. Condition of rooms on higher floor seems better.
The room was clean and neat but little things that should be taken care of were not - A slow drain in the sink in the room, No paper towels or tissue in the Men's bathroom off the lobby, no towels in the fitness room, no wipes in the fitness room, no printed copy of my receipt at checkout, and the emailed receipt was not correct with no membership number. In addition, the rate was very high for a Holiday Inn Express.
I've been coming here several years now for an annual bike ride in Syracuse; it's convenient to all the lakes in Kosciusko County, has clean rooms and friendly staff, and there's a Ritters Frozen Custard stand across the parking lot. No complaints!
I stayed here more than a week and I really liked it. Spacious clean room, long hot showers, excellent mattress for a good night sleep, very friendly and helpful personnel and a free breakfast in the morning with good choices. In addition the hotel is very central located to shops and is directly adjacent to a very good mexican restaurant. What more can one ask?
Last July we stayed at your Holiday Inn Hotel is Warsaw, IN. We were in town for a yearly conference. Upon arrival that evening we noticed that one of the beds appeared to be unmade, and sure enough there was hair, and debri in the sheets. Upon checking the other bed, realized it too was dirty. We called the front desk and they explained that the hotel was full and that they could not give us another room. It was late and we had 4 children so we asked if they could come clean the room so we could use it. Housekeeping proceeded let us know that they were way too busy to be able to clean the room and so they brought us sheets, leaving us to change the beds. We did...complaining at the desk that night and again in the am. We were assured that this was not typical service and that our stay would be taken care of. We never received a bill, at check out we were told it was all taken care of. Then about 1 month ago we noticed that our CLC card was charged for this stay. I have been talking to Carlee at the Holiday Inn in Warsaw several times a week since. She assured me on 2 occasions that she had called CLC and reversed this charge, I have called CLC and they deny that. So I spoke with Carlee this am and she said that her regional manager Bob S. has denied this and her hands are tied. We have stayed in hotels often and never had a situation like this, problems at so many levels from a dirty room, to refusal to clean it, to being told it was a no charge, to getting a bill over 9 months later,(which Carle admitted was their hotels fault and apologized as they have been having several billing issues, but that Bob insists is a CLC problem ) to being told it was a reversed charge, to refusal to do anything to make it right. WE have never been treated so poorly, lied to so many times and had any business so unwilling to make things right.
Very nice hotel. Booked a night using reward points. Beds were very comfortable and the room was nice sized. Midnight staff seemed a bit confused as we checked out early, but got the job done. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area.
Booked a room online (either my mistake or the site just defaulted me to a different date, as day i wanted was entirely booked) Printed my confirmation and immediately noticed the date was different than the one i wanted. Called the hotel immediately (would say no more than 5-10 mins. after booking room) was told NO CANCELLATIONS)? Have tried to speak with someone about this 3 seperate times since and was told each time "we will cal you back" and of course, no call back. Have a lil get together in Waraw( the weekend i was TRYING to book here) will surely make sure everyone i come in contact there knows of this issue and just how desperate this place seems to be to book a room!!! Never Again!
I was staying here for in relation to Grace College, which has a prenegotiated rate; unfortunately my assistant booked the room through our company travel agency which wasn't aware of this rate. When I arrived I realized and asked for the Grace rate and was told that this could not be changed since I had booked online. I thought that sounded odd, but oh well. I felt I was overcharged by over $40 because "online reservations could not be changed" (which I have had changed here before, BTW). Another member of my party got it changed and the other was not able to. I'm still not sure if this is policy or a front desk person who did not know how or was not empowered to do so. Regardless, the room was fine. It's not a fancy hotel but OK for a business stay, which is what I was there for. The bathroom is very dated. The room was, too, although not as bad as the bathroom. There are restaurants in the same parking lot as the hotel, and it is very convenient to Winona Lake. Not much to do in the area as far as I could tell. I travel a lot for work and this would be in the bottom 1/3 of hotels in which I've stayed.
Good things seems to be happening in Holiday Inn. To begin with the parking was ample, the check in was average, room is good, shower is excellent, coffee in the room kudos, the breakfast was nice and great idea on the egg white omellete, the internet was super fast, availability of USB charger. worked well for a business visit and will be back
