They room we slept in, 1407, had bunk beds, king and a pull out. It accomidated the 6 of us well. The tub was nice and big and I appreciated the thank you note left by house keeping. The room was VERY warm, even with the temp on 60. It felt like 85.

The room has mediocre. The carpet was worn and stained. There was also dirt on the carpet. I also noticed the security was very lax. The doors were not secure and anyone could walk in. I opened the side door without my room key after 10:00 one evening. There was a towel rack holding all the toys and sample toiletries above the toilet with no lid.....my 10 year knocked over shampoo into the toilet. The food closest to the water area was less than desireable. The hotdog had a lovely green hue but my four year did devour them daily so maybe I was the one missing out. The breakfast was ok. It was included but you had to be seated and I saw people standing in the line well over 30 minutes. We opted to skip it on the last morning. The signs entering the pool area warn of the fumes and that was nice because on the last evening they shocked the pool and my son along with all of his friends suffered burning sinuses, headaches and stomach pains. They were better once we got them fresh air and water. I am not sure if that many chemicals are required. I would hate for an asthmatic to venture into this setting but as I stated before they do have a warning sign. In the past I have gone to Great Wolf Lodge and in the future I would drive the 148 miles to return instead of coming to Big Splash Adventure Resort.

We decided to go to Big Splash Adventure instead of their competitor. We were stoked and drove 2 hours for our mini vacation. Check-in was simple and easy. We were given a choice for where we wanted our room. We choose the 5th floor. Easy access to the elevators or stairs. Our room was clean and tidy, but freezing. We were able to warm it some, but still was chilly. Of course we went straight to the water park, why else go to a place like this. I was immediately caught off guard by the amount of chlorine in the air. My eyes instantly began to burn. My husband and daughter we fine on the other hand. It was busier than we expected and a little smaller than what the picture portrayed, but we were there to have a good time. Plenty of staff around and the place was clean, especially for the amount of people. My husband and daughter played while I enjoyed the hot tub. The chemicals seemed to be a bit more intrusive. My eyes burned so bad I had to get out. Not sure if others noticed or had similar issues. The following day the hot tub was closed (no idea the cause). We enjoyed the arcade and the miniature golf. The food at the hotel was good, a bit pricey, but expected. Overall it was a good visit, probably won’t return, but it was nice for the price (we had a Groupon, I would have been truly disappointed had we paid full price). It took me 3 days to overcome the effects of the chemicals. That was extremely disappointing.

I read all the reviews on here beforehand and was a little nervous. Keep an open mind. Just a few months ago we visited a well known similar hotel/water park so I an easily compare the two. We stayed on a Sunday evening into a Monday morning so the crowds will be lighter than normal. Hotel was easy to find. Check in was really quick and our room was ready hours in advance. Staff was friendly and quick. Other reviews have said hotel was out of date but I found that it looked like a normal hotel. We stayed in a regular room with two queen beds and no fridge or microwave. Room was clean and no smell. Had a hair dryer, coffee maker, tv. We did not use the wifi while we stayed, so I cannot comment on the connection. We did not have any issues with noise after 10pm. Beds were comfortable. Entering water park we did not notice a horrible chlorine smell but it was subtle. There are signs advising you to take a break every 2 hours to avoid over exposure to the chlorine. I did notice after I had been in the water for a bit that my eyes were bothered by the chlorine. My son was itchy but after leaving the park and showering it went away, we had also been there for several hours. There is a toddler area that is small but you can sit around it and watch your toddler play. Our 4 and 6 year old loved the main area where they could climb into the play area and go down the smaller slides. We found it was easy to find a seat where you could watch them easily. The water park was clean and I did not notice trash or dirt in any areas. The lazy river was great but you are only allowed to go around it in a tube and my 4 yr old is too small for a tube, yet too big to ride with me so she was disappointed. There were lifeguards everywhere BUT the main play area. The only way this was an issue is there was not anyone overseeing the kids going down the slides and my kids were bumped into several times by others not waiting for them to finish at the bottom of the slide. The wait for the big slides was virtually nothing and my 6yr old rode them over and over again with dad til they were tired of climbing the stairs. There was also a little pool area with basketball hoops, whirlpool area, and a small obstacle course that was too big for my little kids to play in. Our stay package included a round of cosmic golf at the game center at the bottom of the hill. It was a little too advanced for our small kids. We also had a bunch of tokens for the game center. The games were good and our kids won a ton of tickets. That was the big hit. Free breakfast was good in the morning. No issues with wait, we were seated right away. We had pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice/coffee, and potatoes. Pros: Food was affordable. We bought several items at the little concessions by the water park and it wasn't more than it would be at a gas station. Dinner at the restaurant was a little more but not horrible. Room was great for the price we paid. Kids had a blast and were worn out. Free breakfast. Park was small enough we could find a seat and watch them closely without having to climb up and down everything. Cons: Park was smaller than the one we visited a few months ago. Some areas in the park were in need of touch ups with paint. Unlike the other park we visited there were not activities in the evenings for the kids. If the hotel had been busier I could see the hallways being loud and full of children in the evenings like others had mentioned. Overall was a great trip for the price we paid. The other park we visited was more than double this one and we were pleased with this quick little overnight trip for our family.

Hotel is ok. First Positives. Sausage and French toast sticks were good at breakfast. Staff was friendly. House keeping people in hallways seemed nice. Good location off the main road. Reasonably affordable. Kids liked the water park. Plenty of pillows that were pretty comfortable. Couch, microwave, and refrigerator in room. Vending machines took debit. the negative. Check in was chaotic, kids running everywhere, given the nature of the business I understand. Room was kinda nice but bland , air conditioner sounded like a chainsaw and buzzed all night. The “eco air” took forever to cool off the room. There was a weird pounding noise every 1 minute all morning in the bathroom ceiling, it wasn’t anyone above us, but something in the ceiling. There was a fingernail sitting on the arm of the couch and a big blue stain on the sheet. Water park was overcrowded and the fumes made me cough. Sign on the door said water park fumes can make flu like symptoms appear. Breakfast was ok, eggs were terrible and literally watched a 8 year old kid pick her nose then grab pancakes without using the tongs provided. Parents let their kids run wild all over the hotel and at one point the rooms on both sides of us has fighting, yelling, crying kids.

This has been an exceptional getaway! We only came in for a few days and the water park in Winter has been wonderful! We will definitely be doing this trip again. It's well worth the drive. Took six and a half hours to get here. The restaurant has wonderful food and the gift shop is a big thumbs-up also.

We had a group of seven families. No one had any complaints at all. All 7 rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Water park was clean and fun. Kids enjoyed themselves and the area is safe for many ages. We will return.

Check in was good. My room was not very clean. The bunk beds had empty skittle wrappers and other trash under the mattress. Thick layer of dust on mini fridge and headboard. All mattresses and pillows are worn out. The pool had large turds floating in it. Very young kids were continuously in the hot tub.Lots of running up and down halls during supposed to be quiet time. The breakfast was a joke.Whenever we went to eat the line was always wrapped around the hall. When they say !0:00 its over. Needless to say we ended up having to go to Dairy Queen!!!! I thought this would be great to get away often since we are only 25 minutes away,I was wrong. Didnt enjoy my stay!!!

When school was cancelled for bad weather coming, we hit the road a couple of days before our planned ski trip to get snowed in at this little jewel. It was great! We went to the waterpark on a Friday and it was not crowded at all! The water was warm and the hot tub was great! I appreciated helpful hotel employees around each corner - and that the employees were not stiff with rules. It was just fun! The breakfast was ok (actually the potatoes were soooo good) and the restaurant was good otherwise. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the kids loved the bunk beds. The bathroom wasn't fancy at all, but it was a quiet, comfy room. I definitely recommend it!

We have been here multiple times. Seems like it is going down hill. The water park was clean and fun as usual. The rooms need better cleaning. The beds were clean, bathroom was cleanish, but carpets looked dirty and it hadn’t been cleaned underneath desk or between night stand and bed in quite some time. The breakfast had lots of options, but food was cold and just mediocre. Kids had a blast, if you can overlook the cleanliness, it’s an alright place to go to. I just wouldn’t have a high level of expectation when going there.
