This chain of hotels focuses on the history of the college in the area, which is this case was IU. The room itself felt cramped due to the size of the furniture that was chosen to go with the retro theme in a room with a king bed, not the bed was comfy and overall the theme looked nice The bathroom was very well done in my opinion, although the towels were on the scratchy side and the shower gel that was in the wall dispenser disappeared on our last night there (I assume staff took it out to refill it and forgot to put it back). We did not try the on site restaurant although the coffee we had in the morning was pretty terrible - I'm not sure if it was burnt, stale or both. Location wise it was perfect, right in the thick of downtown Bloomington which made it easy to walk to restaurants and coffee shops to meet the family members we were in town visiting. In addition, this hotel is pet friendly and did not charge extra for us to bring our dog along which is a feature I have yet to see at any other hotels. I had called ahead to see if special arrangements needed to be made for me to bring the dog along and was told that you don't even need to make a note on the reservation about it, you just show up with the dog at check in and sign liability waivers. The website and some reviews I had seen mentioned that when you stay with a pet your dog is also given amenities, including a bowl, blanket, and bark box. We didn't get any of that so the policy may have changed.

The rooms felt more like a large bedroom than a hotel room. The location of the Graduate in Bloomington, was just a couple block walk from about anything you need.

It was a fun place to stay- lots of unique surprises! The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is perfect.

100% will stay at another one of their properties again. It was clean and made me feel like I was home. I didn’t feel like I needed to wear shocks or shoes in the room.

Very clean hotel with modern, quirky interior design. Has amenities you are used to when staying at a similar hotel. Wi-Fi was difficult to use, even with provided password (which there was no place to enter) and instructions (which were inaccurate and sparse)

This hotel was wonderful... cleaner than any hotel we have stayed at. Only had one issue and it was that the valet who took our car had the worst body odor. A little attention to the staff is needed. I would give this hotel 5 stars but have trouble doing so with having the stress of what our car condition would be when we got it back the next day.

Liked the unique decor and B&B feel while still being a nice hotel. Location made everything easy to get to as well. Rooms are on smaller side and balconies are not worth the upgrade given they face very loud HVAC units.

Great coffee and breakfast place, Poindexter’s on the property. Bit pricey, but very good food. Staff, from the front desk to the valets to the maid service were terrific

Excellent location and attentive staff. Staying here felt more like being at an Inn than a hotel. Add to that a lovely view from my room and a very comfortable bed —simply wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend to others and I look forward to staying there again in the future

We loved the service, room, food, and location of the hotel.

I loved that it was upbeat, fun, pet friendly and different. Would definitely go back and recommend it!

The hotel is going for quirky, but they should go for basic hotel services first. While the room was comfortable enough, and location convenient, housekeeping only entered our room on two of the four days we stayed there (and one of those two times was only after we asked). Then the staff tried to enter the room in the early morning on our last day, saying they thought we had checked out already (we hadn't). Then, to top it off, they double charged my credit card for the entire stay.

Close to university campus. Clean room. Hotel staff is nice
