We've stayed here before and have always enjoyed our visits. Their breakfast is always good and the hotel is clean and appealing. The heater in our room this time was noisy so we reported it and hope it will be repaired before the room is rented again.

Never disappoints!!

The room was clean and comfortable. The chlorine fumes in the pool/hot tub area were a bit excessive this time, stinging our eyes, but overall the stay was great. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, as usual. This is where we stay every time we come to Shipshewana.

We always stay at the Blue Gate when visiting Shipshewana. The breakfast buffet, including the made to order omelets, was fantastic as always and one of the biggest perks of the hotel. The WiFi could use a boost and some updated televisions with streaming capabilities would be a welcome upgrade. All in all, the rooms are always very clean and the pool and breakfast will always be plusses that put the Blue Gate ahead of the other hotels in the area.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, but I think there was a bit of a musty smell in the room, like maybe switching back and forth from the heat to ac and back. It was that time of year. Also, the tv remote did not work very well. Have been very pleased with our stay and will continue to stay here when in town.

I was a little disgusted by the headboard having some substances on it. It was gross and my husband cleaned it. It sounded like people were stomping upstairs through the night but thankfully not as we slept. It started up again in the morning. Very very loud. This is not the first time we have stayed there so this was disappointing. Of course the breakfast is always amazing.
