Located not far from the Rialto Market, the hotel is between a quiet street and a small canal. The rooms are classically appointed and well maintained. The staff will hold your bags if you arrive earlier than check-in, so you can wander the city luggage-free before lunch. They will do the same after checkout, so you needn't hurry to the Vaporetto upon checkout at 11am.
I had a booking with this hotel but cancelled it 3 weeks before going. Despite this, it was claimed my cancellation was never received and they took the full 100% of the charge off me of £500 I rang twice and the person on the phone was completely unsympathetic and told me I could not speak to the manager, only by email. I emailed and explained the situation and the stress it was causing and just got one email back refusing to provide a refund, although I bet they rebooked that room! All further emails were ignored It looks a nice place but if the staff are so rude and unsympathetic if there are problems I won't ever consider going back.
We spent 4 nights here in July and were happy with the modest but clean and tidy accomodation. Good aircon and bathroom/shower. Breakfast was small but enough and hotel was in a easy accessible area. If I ever came back to Venice, (probably not) I'd stay here and recommend it!
This was my first time in Venice and I was very happy with my stay at Locanda Poste Vecie. The directions the hotel sent us made finding the hotel easy. The location was great! We were close to one of the water bus stops, which made it easy getting around the island and to Murano,
Nice B&B with a fair price and good customer care. The location is perfect, close to Rialto Market and Rialto Bridge, providing access to all means of transport easily. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. The stairs are a bit tough for big and heavy luggage.Breakfast is very good at the hotel restaurant. Hotel Guests have a discount on lunch and dinner.
We stayed 2 night in this small bed&breakfast and we enjoyed our choice. The room was very small (not a problem considering that we spent the whole time visiting the city), but clean. The Locanda is situated in a small alley, it can be difficult if you arrive late at night to find it, but it's Venice, exploring alleys it is part of the fun. The location is very good, at short walking distance to the charming fish market, Rialto bridge and Canal Grande. Breakfast, in the nearby restaurant, is really good and pleasant. All the people we met at the Locanda or restaurant were very nice and kind! Considering the low overall price we will come back for sure.
It's Venice. It's old. It's a bit cramped. But it's also in the middle of everything, it's reasonable , it's clean and I loved the immediate neighborhood. Walk anywhere, water taxi to cruise ship. And the manager is always more than helpful.
This is just the kind of hotel I like! It's small and tucked away in a very narrow alleyway in an excellent location. Our room was very clean and very venetian in style, not big but quite adequate for our needs. The bed was way to hard for me but some people like it that way. A plus for the safe (but instruction on how to use it would be nice!) and the small refigerator. The window looked out over a canal leading out to Canal Grande. The breakfast was nice but I do hope that they'll buy a new toaster, preferably one that can toast several slices at the same time because for the moment you have to queue for a chance to use it - and it didn't even work very well. Or I would suggest that they start serving some other kind of bread (rosette for example) and not only different sweets. I know people in Italy often love sweet things in the morning but the guests comes from all countries. Reception from the owner was nice and he really tried to do everything for our stay to be as positive as possible. If you are a light sleeper try to avoid rooms facing the fish market since it can be quite noisy in the early morning.
Room was small, with uncomfortable beds and looking into a dirty porch. When you open the window bags come in like crazy. They only give you one key and if you need to leave the room, you MUST lock in the person(s) you travel with. The hotel is hard to find and the little pathway that takes you to it is dirty. The reception is dingy and the stairs not good to take up 2 suitcases at the same time. No lift. Breakfast was decent. The A/C in the room was not working and after asking the staff and got a "I don't care" answer, I repaired it myself. $190 per night for this place is way too much. Venice is dirty, smelly, expensive and busy for no reason. One day there is plenty. People think that this is cute but to me and my group buildings full of mold, dirty streets and smelly canals and millions of mosquitos is not so cute. You pay an arm an a leg to smell and feel all this. Never again....
We stayed at this hotel last week, finding it wasn't as difficult as people said, it is in a narrow alley but as we knew that we found it fairly easily. The room was basic but clean, the bathroom was great, we did state that I had slight mobility problems and our bathroom was really a wet room so great for me. So satisfied with the room especially as the hotel was in a great location, minutes away from Rialto Bridge which helped us find our way around Venice as the directions to the bridge were everywhere. Sadly I cannot enthuse about breakfast, there was little choice and the bread wasn't good. They also really need a new toaster as the one there was faulty and one small toaster was just not enough. The manager was friendly and helpful.
