We stayed here for 2 nights, the hotel was beautiful and easy to get to from the grand canal. The rooftop bar is definitely worth checking out. The room was great and the bathroom was nice. The concierge made some great recommendations for dinner. The day trip to murano/burano was 100% worth it to see the glass blowing and lace/fishing village.
we had a great experience at this hotel, the location is fantastic, 2 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal, hotel services are second to none with regards booking transportation / trips etc. You are in and amongst the shops so any last minute buys are literally on your doorstep. My only niggle was no tea and coffee facilities in the room, so if like me you need that pick up first thing then it does cause an issue, breakfast however is full of choices and is served from 7am. Rooms could do with a little tidy up due to few dents etc but overall would i come back, undoubtably.
the Hotel overall was excellent. The Breakfast was good, not great. The location was perfect. In the heart of Florence. Of course it's easy to get lost but that is NORMAL any where in Florence. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. They provided a free trip to the MORANO factory and then to Burano. Burano is a great fish town (if you like fish). ...................................
This was our third stay at the hotel and we were even more impressed than before! Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Each day, the room was cleaned and tidied to an excellent standard. Reception staff are very friendly and the rooftop bar is welcoming. As others have noted, the location could hardly be more convenient. Strongly recommended!
On the recommendation of my son in law we booked at this hotel, and we were glad the hotel ticked all the boxes. The location was very close to the water taxi and the centre of San Marco. The staff were very attentive and friendly, hotel and rooms were very clean, the bathroom spotless clean. Highly recommend.
We had a nice stay at this hotel & the staff was awesome. The rooftop bar/lounge was so pretty & relaxing. Bartender Bobo made the best Dirty Martini. Room & bathroom were adequate for traveling through Venice. We had a enjoyable time at the LaCommedia.
We picked the perfect hotel in the perfect location. 20 yards (1 building) from grand canal and 3m walk from St Marks square. All staff were helpful & room was spotlessly clean. Ample hot water & good shower. Even cotton buds in the bath set
I stayed here for 4 nights recently and truly didn't want to leave! The hotel was great about making dinner reservations for each night weeks in advance, and the roof was dreamy to hang out on each evening - you don't want to leave! The rooms don't have great views but they feel 5 star and then some. I'm recommending this hotel to everyone I know coming to Venice and will definitely be back - it felt like I was coming home to family every time I walked in!
We stayed for a long weekend at the Commedia. The hotel has a great location. Literally two minutes from the Grand Canal, maybe five from the Rialto Bridge and perhaps a 15-20 minute stroll to St Marks. The rooms and hotel in general are very clean, there was an excellent breakfast (which was included) and friendly, helpful staff. The room itself had a very comfortable bed, and well appointed bathroom - the hot water is very hot! Our booking included a free trip to Murano, well worth the visit. The transfer was via a very smart shared water-taxi which picks up directly from the hotel. The roof-top bar is a nice spot, but slightly disappointing given the rest of the hotel. It has slightly more atmosphere in the evenings. We would stay here again.
Just arrived home having stopped at this marvellous Hotel. We read the reviews before we booked at this hotel as it was a special trip for the family and wanted a memorable holiday for a memorable visit; we were not disappointed. Hotel is lovely, staff are marvellous and are extremely helpful with any inquiries about the sites around Venice and how to get to them. It would be hard to praise one particular staff member as they are all excellent and are very customer focused but have a personal touch. Location is the key to this hotel; we chose it because we wanted to get the locations around Venice quickly and most of all, not walk too far. As a family we could not believe how within a minute or two walk we where at Rialto Bridge from the hotel but then could get back to the hotel and have a lovely sleep without any noise from outside as it’s set back from the canal down a side street. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. As a base to visit all the tourist sites around Venice and the waterbus stop around the corner from this hotel, it ticked all our boxes and more. Would recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on a return visit to Venice.
